Answers to questions about gel polish

I have received a lot of questions about the gel nail polish from Depend that I wrote about earlier in this post.

Now I have had it for so long that I can answer all the questions in one post, because there are probably more of you who are wondering!

Does it last as long as they promise?

Yes it lasts for 2-3 weeks. I had my paint for 1 week, but it could have lasted much longer. I mainly wanted to try a new color, and I also got a notch in my thumbnail when I slanted with a knife.

In addition, some nails had grown so fast that there were several millimeters between the cuticle and the nail polish. Never realized that nails grow so fast! :)

Can you paint something else on top later? And remove the solid gel varnish that remains?

Absolutely! If you want a different color one day, or maybe paint a glitter varnish over, then it goes away with a regular remover without destroying the gel varnish underneath.

What did you think it was like to remove the old varnish? Easy? Smooth? Complicated and time consuming?
When I looked around a bit on other blogs, there were a lot of people who thought that the bit of removal took away the good with the idea, because it was so cumbersome, etc., and therefore did not recommend it at all, even if application and durability were good. So it would be fun to know what you thought! And the new varnish was shitty :)

It was super easy, went in a minute! However, my nails did not turn out super nice so I had to polish them a bit, I have very fragile nails that easily split.

I did not use the remover, if you pick up a "tab" you can pull off the entire varnish in one piece. However, you must have had the paint for a while then, so it started to drop a bit. Mine had not let go so that it was visible, but I felt when I pulled my fingers through my hair that the straw got a little stuck in the edges.

If, on the other hand, you use the remover, it is a bit time consuming as you wrap the nails (with remover) in foil, and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then the nail polish comes off in pieces, just like it did for me without a remover.

Can you do a French manicure with them?

Yes it does! There are two different nail polishes, french pink (no.136) and frech pink pearl (no.000). Choose one of them and a white nail polish.

Start with the base coat and harden it under the LED lamp as usual. Then apply the pink varnish, harden. Paint the white varnish on the tips, harden. Apply another coat of pink nail polish, harden and finish with top coat as usual.

Just ask more questions if you have any more questions! :)

  1. Hi nice, just bought a shellac set via Ali-express, got an ugly nail polish that I did not like, my question is if you can use regular varnish and put the nails under the uv lamp?

Thanks in advance and grateful for the quick response :)

    • Hey! But most nail polish works to "build in" regular nail polish in gel polish, but you must have gel undercoat and gel topcoat for regular nail polish does not harden under the UV lamp. So take undercoat, harden in lamp, paint nail polish and let dry, paint topcoat and harden in lamp. Hug!

      • Oh how cute you are, thanks for the reply, googled and did not find this information. Well then I can use all my "regular" varnish and do as you wrote… .have a nice day, comb
