IsaDora Golden Edition Eyeshadow

As you may remember, I received a press release with IsaDora's collection "Golden Edition" in December, and fell in love with the gold glitter to the eyebrows :)

Now I have finally tested as well IsaDoras Eye Shadow Palette Golden Edition* which is a palette with 5 eye shadows, and I immediately felt that I wanted to do a look with the golden one to put it to the test!

But even though that shade is super nice, I did not like it to 100% actually. I can definitely imagine using it on smaller parts of the make-up, e.g. combined with a brown eye shadow. But alone, as I used it in today's makeup, I do not actually like it at all.

And that is because the shadow, which is very shimmery and almost metallic, is only nice where the light is on, but where it does not get the light directly on it, e.g. on the outer edges of the make-up and along the globe line (slightly depending on how you have your head angled towards the light) where it gets darker and goes more in the orange-brown direction.

So it looks like I have shaded with a darker shade, in a rather ugly orange-brown shade, at the edges, and in some light it also looks like I have made an uneven fading. Not flattering at all.

In other words, very nice shade if you e.g. want it on small parts of the make-up or actually shadows with a dark nice eye shadow at the edges, but smoked on the whole eyelid so there is no hit unfortunately.

Here is a picture that I took a little from below, and then it is very nice because then it gets more light! But you will see what I mean in the other pictures:

tutoriall_111

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi Eye Bright Primer
Golden eye shadow on the entire eyelid
  2. Fade out the edges (and here you see that it is a dark strange spot on the outer edge, it is not dark there if you turn your head a little, but it looks dark due to how the eye shadow reflects, and does not reflect, the light)
  3. Dark plum purple eyeliner along the waterline and lower lash line, Paese Linea Automatic Eyeliner (Plum Glam)
  4. Light eye shadow in the corner of the eye (this one I liked though)
  5. Black mascara on the upper lashes, gloMinerals Water Resistant Mascara
And here you see the make-up when I close my eyes.

In other words, the eye shadow is very nice, but like this on the whole eyelid, the golden eye shadow does not look great.

IMG_6983_111

Do you see that it is much darker at the outer edges? Though it is the same shadow on the entire top of the eye.

There are shadows that change differently depending on how the light is on them, but that do it in a nice way, and this one does not turn out that way in a nice way in my opinion.

So I'm not very happy with the make-up, but it's a review in itself that can be of use to you, I thought :)

Any of you who have tested this shade? What do you think?

We are looking for a nail therapist for the salon!

nail therapist-uppsala

We are looking for a person who does nails (preferably both gel nails and manicures) who wants to work with us at Creative Makeup By Her! Preferably full time, and preferably one who has his own company and the opportunity to rent a place.

There is a great demand for this, every week customers come in wondering if we do nails too. And we have a perfect location in central Uppsala!

Email me at helena@creativemakeup.se if you are interested, and feel free to tell any friends who may be interested :)

Cat eye makeup for hooded eyes

What fun that you liked the make-up at Frida this day! It seems to be really appreciated with tips for hooded eyes, and I got a request for a tutorial on makeup so I did one on myself today :)

It will be more effective on Frida's eyes, but good on everyone and above all you will see in this post how I have done a little more detailed.

Hope this is helpful!

Here you see my eyes before and after I put them on. This make-up gives the same effect as a wide eyeliner wing, but is not as difficult to do at all, especially if you have hooded eyes and have a little extra difficulty making a sharp wing, which should look good both when looking straight ahead and when you blinks.

When you have hooded eyes (and even many who do not have them) often have a fairly long crease line, which extends far to the sides and causes the eyeliner wing to break depending on how you look.

I would explain to Miska in simple language the other day why it is difficult, and then I said 'if I sit down, I get two "car rings" on my stomach so that there is a fold in the middle, imagine that you should paint a triangle over that fold, which should be nice both when I sit down and when I stand, and preferably when I'm about to pose too”. Lol. Strange explanation but the same principle, and he understood what I meant :)

Bassmink:
Face primer - Paese Makeup Base (Matte)
Foundation - gloMinerals Pressed Base Foundation (Golden Light)
Powder that neutralizes red - gloMinerals Redness Relief Powder
Contouring - Pixi Book Of Beauty Contour Creator
Rouge - Pixi Book Of Beauty Blush Palette
Makeup Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist
Dehydrating powders - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

On the lips I have Benecos Natural Lipliner (Red).

I do this sweeping with the help of regular eyeliner and then the palette Paese Kashmir Trio Eyeshadow (685) which is a gray scale with light gray, gray and carbon black. Perfect for a smokey eye!

stegis_111

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi Eye Bright Primer
Paint the outer edge of the eyeliner as far out as you want it, preferably so that it is not broken by any skin fold but is completely straight when you look ahead, Paese Penliner
  2. Black eyeshadow at the end of the eyelid, just inside the eyeliner
  3. Gray eye shadow in the middle of the eyelid
  4. Light gray eyeshadow on the inside of the eyelid and fade out the edges
  5. Paint the eyeliner along the entire lash line
  6. Finish with mascara on the upper lashes, gloMinerals Water Resistant Mascara

Do not apply the eye shadows over the crease line, apply so that it is only on the eyelid and not over your own crease line. Then the sweeping will not be so visible when you look straight ahead, and then the sweeping looks a little more like an eyeliner.

Permanent makeup on men

Do you remember the eyebrow tattoo on our male customer who had no eyebrow hairs at all, which I showed a few months ago? :)

This week he was back for a return visit, and then I could photograph the results after healing, and then after they filled in what needed to be filled in on the return visit (almost always needed). So the only thing that is missing is a replica after the final healing, but since he does not live near Uppsala and does not need to come back for further return visits, I will probably not be able to take pictures of it.

But I was going to show you the four pictures I have - before, immediately after, after healing and immediately after filling in the return visit. So you get a better overview of how the end result will be :)

roger-brow-watermark

Here you have a good overview!

And here you see the pictures a little closer:

eyebrow tattoo-menNice huh? You can not believe that he has no straw of his own at all. I asked if any of his friends had noticed anything, and then he told me that one of his colleagues had asked if he had cut his hair, and he has not had a single hair on his head for several years;)

This is often the case with eyebrows, you see that something has improved in the face but can not really put your finger on what the difference is.

Just get in touch with me, either to me or to the salon, if you have any questions about permanent makeup!

Beauty hack - Eyeliner that lasts all day

Yesterday you got tips on how to get a nice eyeliner wing with the help of tape in the post Beauty hack - sharp eyelinervinge, did you find it helpful? :)

But one of the most boring things there is when you get a really nice eyeliner, so there you feel proud as the rooster and just want to flirt with people all day, and then after just a few hours it gets smeared on the eyelid and gets ruined …

Here's another eyeliner trick, and this is how you make it last better! :)

IMG_6449

The most important thing to get an eyeliner that lasts well is of course a good product, I almost always use waterproof eyeliner, or at least a rub-proof one. The eyeliner in the picture is Paese Penliner. But even if you have a waterproof and rub-proof eyeliner, it can still smudge on the eyelid when you blink during the day. What can be done about it?

The answer is not a more expensive or better eyeliner, but the solution is an eyeshadow primer!

IMG_6419

If you apply foundation as usual and do not want any eye shadow, very few people use eye shadow primer. Because it is for eye shadows. But the biggest reason why the eyeshadows hold better with primer is because the eyelid becomes very oily during the day, and when you blink then all the eyeshadow will eventually settle like two dashes over the eyelid. But it helps the primer against, and works partly as an adhesive for eye shadows but also keeps the eyelid dull during the day.

This also happens without eye shadows, only that it is not as clear as it is only the foundation that is skin-colored that settles in the crease. As you can see in the picture above.

And it is all this oil that makes the eyeliner smudge, because even if an eyeliner is waterproof, it is not oilproof. Oil dissolves waterproof products, and causes them to discolour or even smudge completely.

IMG_6426

Apply eye shadow primer to the entire eyelid.
I use Pixi Eye Bright Primer

IMG_64312. If you do not want eye shadow, apply a transparent powder instead, then fix the primer so that it is no longer creamy / moist.

3. Paint your eyeliner as usual, and then it will be kept in place all day without smudging or staining on the eyelids!

IMG_6449

This tip applies even if you have a mascara that easily smears on the eyelids :)
