Hot & cold lips

There is a "rule" that says that a warm skin tone should only use warm lipsticks (and vice versa, cold skin tone - cold lip colors) but that is bullshit in my opinion.

I usually think like this - Do I want the lipstick to blend well into the rest of the face and become more like "part of the look", or do I want there to be a lot of focus on the lips that becomes a contrast to the rest of the face and " stands out ”more?

If you have a warm skin tone and choose a cool shade on the lipstick, there will be a contrast between and your lips will be visible and stand out more! Same thing with cold skin tones, the lips then get more focus in warm lip colors.

Here is an example, about the same lipstick in a warm red tone but on a cold and warm skin tone:

On the cold skin tone, it is without a doubt the lips that come into focus, and on the warm they become more a part of the look.

Both ways are super nice, the question is as I said just what effect you are looking for :)

Hope you understood!
