This week has been a 6-day week for me with early mornings and late evenings!
I have had more bookings and staffed the reception a little more than usual, not super much but enough to have to catch up with all the other daily work in the evening. And last Saturday we had so many bookings that we were 4 fully booked makeup artists at the salon, we are usually 2, so then I had to jump in too :)

Balance: To be a doer and at the same time build smart from the ground up
Last Friday I had a day like that where I felt so excited that I could barely focus on my to do list because I just wanted to get started on new projects and ideas now, now, now!
I have always been a person who starts right away as soon as I get an idea. Everything from big ideas like starting the webshop, starting with clothes in the webshop (an old idea I had before that took a whole spring and then I kind of regretted it right when we got started haha), starting the salon etc to small ideas like starting a video podcast with sister (which is also a closed chapter at present), bring in a new brand, hire a new person e.g. a barber who is the new addition, etc. Everything should be done at once, preferably yesterday! :)
But now my dreams are so big that I do not know if I should be a "doer" and just get started or if I should wait for the right timing when I have a perfect contact or more experience. It is a nice balance between daring to jump and being smart and building from scratch. When the ideas require a little more research and there are a thousand ways to take like, it might come as fate and on a banana peel if I sit in the boat for a while, things can happen quickly, or it will still not be so and then can I just as well start now.
I have the courage, for me personally it is not about daring but about being smarter. But sometimes I get so excited and happy that it gets hard because I do not want to wait I want to do everything nuuu haha :)
Helena's makeup school
This week I had training with the makeup artists at work! Of course, they are already super talented, but it is important that we all have the same beauty values and explain things in much the same way. In addition, it is good to sometimes get to play with the make-up of a person who is not a customer and is not under time pressure! :)
On Monday evening after work, I prepared materials for the training:

Filmed when I made eyeliner with wing, which I then photographed and showed the guidelines even more clearly:

Then on Tuesday we all stayed after work! I held a review with eyeliner and eyeliner wing and how to easily describe the guidelines for a customer and also give tips on how that person can most easily do it on themselves at home.

On the way home I saw on Zahra's insta story that she had filmed a bit from my review haha, I took this print screen :)

Then they each had a model that they made up!
Thanks to this joint workshop, we also came up with two new tips that I have never thought of before!
- If you have a light skin tone, a light eyeliner works (which, for example, is used for the waterline otherwise, we used the shade Peach from gloMinerals) perfect for smoothing the eyeliner! If e.g. one side becomes a little sharper than the other. It was so heavenly smooth :)
- Cutting the false eyelashes in 3 parts and then applying to the lash line can be more convenient for the customer instead of a whole line as the skin becomes a little more locked then. But now the result tip we came to: If you are going to divide the fringe into 3 parts, it is much better to choose loose lashes with a soft edge that form more easily to the lash line! A fringe with a harder bottom made the skin settle a little differently on the 3 parts, which made the eyeliner suddenly look uneven. I find it interesting! Have never thought about it before.

This make-up was done by Zahra on our intern Nour, a perfect eyeliner with wing and maffy false eyelashes, very nice :) She has also used our new eyeshadow palette Rebel Angel.
Start collecting blog material for the holidays
Before, I talked to a beauty blogger who produced so much material that she was several weeks in advance with the blogging, I think it was the end of February then and she had already timed 1 post a day until April haha.
I have never been like that, I am a maximum of one day before, but usually the posts are published immediately when I write them.
Now, however, I have to start preparing in time for Miska has sold her apartment and we have decided to treat ourselves to a trip abroad for 2 weeks in January or February! Waah!
This means, however, that for 2 weeks I will not be able to produce any beauty material for the blog, I have to be a little standby in the company but should really be as free as possible. I have not been free for more than a week since 2014, except when my mother passed away and it was not like resting as well. So it will be absolutely wonderful!
So now I'm going to start collecting some make-up piles, I thought! There will be a lot of hours in the photo studio in the future :)

This is how I sit between every make-up step in my step-by-step collage haha. Sick amounts of coffee harvested inside my photo studio, believe me;)
Great cleaning week at the salon!
This week we have had a major cleaning week at the salon as well. We always clean regularly but some things are difficult during opening hours when we have customers everywhere. So sometimes you need to pull off properly everywhere, on moldings, in drawers, remove all things when dusting the shelves, etc. So during the week, everyone has focused on cleaning and cleaning as soon as they had a gap, which, however, has not been so much . Then after my customers last Saturday, Miska and I stayed after closing and continued the general cleaning!
So I had customers for four hours and cleaned for 4 hours without a single break even to sit down, I felt really good afterwards!

Here I sit and dry moldings :) I wore heels when I had my make-up and eyebrow clients and was so tired in the feet so cleaned in mystop then haha.
Miska also fixed two white boards that it does not attach color to our dressing tables, they have become so stained by lash and brow paint but now it was covered + that paint stains on these boards will then be able to dry off, so nice :)
It's my dad who specially-built the tables for us so we do not want them to be itchy unnecessarily, it's not just throwing away and buying new ones as well.

So now our dressing tables are shiny and clean, it turned out so nice!
I was completely exhausted last night and fell asleep in the living room while the kids told stories to each other and then I slept for over 12 hours! So to sum it up, it has been full roll all week but the energy has been at its peak, then the energy ran out but after a long beauty sleep it is now at its peak again! :)
Now I will spend my free day painting at home in the house and tomorrow is a new work week again.
Have a great Sunday everyone! ♥
