Throwback Thursday - Midsummer Inspiration

I put on make-up yesterday and then realized that my eye is still irritated, so now I leave it alone for another day.

But it is lucky that it is Thursday, then it is completely legal to upload old material and call it tbt;)

So I made today's look more than a year ago when Miska and I were in Greece, and I think it's brilliant makeup inspiration now before Midsummer's Eve!

All eye shadows are from the 40 Palette, if nothing else is written - it will start selling again in just a few days!

Light blue eye shadow deepest on the eyelid.
Blue eye shadow in the middle of the eyelid.
Purple eye shadow at the end of the eyelid.
Pink eye shadow at the bottom of the lower lash line,
Light shimmery eye shadow in the corner of the eye and at the bottom of the lower lash line, Annika's Favorite Shadow.

White eyeliner along the waterline, IsaDora Inliner Kajal (50 Satin White)
Gold glitter eyeliner along the lower lash line, True Gold Glitter Eyeliner.
Black mascara on all lashes, Fiberwig LX Mascara.

Lip-glossLumenes Lip gloss pencil Raspberry Miracle Lip Sorbet (13 Blooming Meadow) the shade is light but gets pretty dark on me with the lip tattoo underneath.

I matched with a black and white long dress, perfect with a colorful make-up that stands out when the clothes do not contain any color at all.

But it is also not entirely wrong to pick up the shades in a colorful dress and match with the eye makeup! So I did this dress last Midsummer Eve, although this picture was also taken in Greece :)

Hope you were inspired!

Sans Soucis All in One 3D Effect Mascara

Sans Soucis is a brand that is mainly known for its natural but effective skin care products (it is at least only in such contexts I have heard about the brand) but the company actually started only with makeup / sales, and skin care came several years later.

The brand is over 70 years old (founded in 1939 in Germany) and the make-up products were relaunched in 2007. I personally love the fact that, in addition to make-up, they are also good at skin care - this means that the make-up also contains well-thought-out ingredients!

Today I was going to review their mascara ”Sans Soucis All in One 3D Effect Mascara” :)

The mascara should have a 3D effect, ie give both length, volume and curved eyelashes. The brush is made of rubber with comb-like bristles.

Costs SEK 169 and is available e.g. on Harmoniq.se

My first reaction was that I like the brush, big enough, narrow enough and I who prefer rubber brushes like the feeling itself when using it.

My second reaction was that it takes up a little too much mascara at once, I would rather dip once extra if needed than have a lot on the brush. However, this will be good when you have used it a few times, then the amount will probably be just right.

When I then started to apply, the mascara felt a little difficult, there was quite a lot of mascara as I said and yet I thought that the lashes looked exactly like before solid black, so they did not get a direct bend. I thought that the texture was maybe a little too thin so it felt like you just brushed on the lashes, instead of working with them.

But I like mascaras that do not dry so quickly, so you have time to work with it a bit without lumps or spider bone lashes, and so was this one so when I combed the lashes for a while, the result was very good! The lashes were separated, got a nice bend and looked very long :)

In addition, the color was intensely black, which I like. And once I got the lashes looking good, I liked that the texture was so thin, because then they stayed nice also because they were not weighed down. They felt light!

The durability was awesome too! It did not crumble, and did not smudge around the eye even though you became oily in the skin (it can even waterproof mascaras, waterproof does not mean oilproof). It does not say that this should be waterproof but I think it held up really well and was actually quite difficult to wash off as well. Not very difficult, but more difficult than many others, which indicates good durability while it takes a few minutes extra in the evening. So it depends on what you prioritize.

In other words, no mascara that I fell for at first glance but I am absolutely very happy with the result and will use it more times!

Thumbs up!

Attach hairpins

I do not know why the majority of us attach the hairpins wrong, I have done it, and most of us have done it (because it is not just me who is also blonde on the inside?)

There is something in our brain that wants to make it more logical for the wavy side to be up, but you know, then you have it upside down!

I myself was shocked when I heard this but when I then tested it was actually a real difference! The hairpins fit much better if you have them in the right direction, ie with the wavy side down :)

You who did not know this, try it! You will notice the difference immediately :)

Expresso Brown

One of my favorite looks of the summer is a brownish gold soot along with bright pink lips - so crazy nice!

Today's make - up is therefore just such a look, I hope you like it :)

The lip gloss is Lumene Raspberry Miracle Lip Sorbet in their new summer shade 20 Rosy Moments. Nice huh? :)

The brown eyeshadow was a bit special, it is warm golden brown on the eyelid but became more cold gray-brown when you toned out the edges. I do not know if it is meant to be so, but for this make-up I liked it :)

Brown eye shadow smoked around the whole eye, Sans Soucis Refill Eyeshadow (12 Expresso Brown)
Light eye shadow In the corner of the eye, Sans Soucis Refill Eyeshadow (43 Velvet Rose)
Black eyeliner along the upper lash line, IsaDora Flex Tip Eyeliner
Black mascara on all lashes, Sans Soucis All in One 3D Mascara.

Question of the day

2

My latest post at Modern Mom is briefly about braces, complexes and self-confidence.

What made me write the post is because I said no to braces when I was young, and I think it's so fascinating that people have so many opinions about beauty procedures - but when you refuse braces you have to put up with hearing "you will regret it for the rest of your life if you do not! ”. Even though you do not have other problems around the teeth. It's weird!

I got a pretty interesting response to that, and therefore wonder what you have opinions about changing their appearance? :)

Do not get me wrong, I do not think in any way that it is wrong with braces, and beauty procedures are up to everyone, but everyone's thoughts about it are so heavenly interesting I think. Who do you change for? Which procedures are okay and which are over the limit?

You easily feel like a hypocrite when you start and think, it can be good to get an idea by reading different opinions, so feel free to come up with your thoughts! :)

Personally, I'll be dealing with a little secrecy for so long, what will you find out in a few days;)
