When you have oily skin, it is important with degrading products so that the basic make-up is not destroyed, partly for the skin to stay matte longer but also for it to last when you improve it after a few hours.
Otherwise, the make-up can drop a little during the day, either when you improve it, or it looks cakey even before you powder yourself. The oil has then dissolved the base and caused it to "melt" as many explain that they experience it, that it sort of slides and settles unevenly.
Lathering products keep the skin dull all day if you are not super duper oily, but I who have 97% sebum production (when I scanned my skin with a dermatologist) still get a little shiny at the end of the day and need to improve my makeup. But there is a big difference between having to improve every hour, or 1-2 times a day. And without degrading makeup before, the makeup does not last to be improved for that long either, then it releases or looks cheesy.
But with good products, you get a complexion that stays matte much longer, and becomes like freshly made up again after you have improved your make-up! :)
This is what I looked like one day last week before and after I applied my makeup in the evening. I put on make-up between 10-11 in the morning, have not improved my make-up at all during the day, and these pictures are taken at 18.00.
I have not even improved my lips actually, and ate crispy baked fish with puree and remoulade sauce for lunch, so I have not been careful with them either. Good durability huh? Need a little more color on one side but otherwise it looks great :) It is gloMinerals Suede Matte Crayon from Byher.se.
I started with degrading base makeup in the morning for a lasting base, and then I used blotting paper and degrading powder to dull down in the afternoon.
The base I used in the morning:
Face primer -Â Paese Makeup Base (Matte)
Foundation -Â gloMinerals Pressed Base Foundation (Golden Light)
Powder that neutralizes red -Â gloMinerals Redness Relief Powder
Makeup Fixing Mist -Â Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist
Dehydrating powders -Â Paese Bamboo Silk Powder
After 8 hours:
Blotting paper - gloMinerals Blotting papers
Dehydrating powders -Â Paese Bamboo Silk Powder
Blotting papers Absorbs the oil directly from the skin without ruining your makeup. Each booklet contains 100 sheets made of abaca leaves (banana plant from the Philippines) and soft wood pulp.
The reason why blotting papers are good is because if you just matte down by putting powder on the base, the oil will remain on the skin, and the powder you apply then only works to absorb the oil you already have on your face. But if you first remove excess oil and then powder, the powder will be for prevention and also absorb the new oil that comes out of the skin after a few more hours. So not only do you get a nicer matte skin directly free of oil, but it stays matte longer as well :)
Good soothing makeup works on absorbing the oil, and is not clogging so that the oil does not come out, then you get pimples! Therefore, it is good to remove as much oil as possible manually, so the rest of the makeup does not have as much to soak up.
Tear off a sheet from the booklet and gently press on the skin, focusing on the t-zone.
If you are as oily as me, you need to dab all over your face, and not just the T-zone :)
You can see immediately on the paper that it gets wet from the oil that has been sucked up!
And as you can see, the paper is still quite clean late, and it is thanks to the base being so good from the beginning that it does not also drop and end up on the paper. With many other foundations, the whole paper would have been skin colored otherwise.
End with Paese Bamboo Silk Powder, which absorbs any. oil that remains on the skin and lies there for preventive purposes and absorbs the oil that will come as well.
Fint va? You can not believe that I have been wearing makeup for a whole day already, but a little more lipstick in the mouth pores only then I was ready for Christmas dinner with colleagues at the salon :) ♥
Just comment if you have any questions and I will answer as soon as I can.
Hugs are!
