My business week v. 7

This week has been a real computer job week!

I have had a few individual customers and worked a little at the reception, otherwise I have just sat at the computer and worked, worked, worked! In addition to a lot of hours in the photo studio, of course, but it would have been more unusual if it had not been so :)

Do not stop until you are satisfied
Before Valentine's Day, we have spruced up the salon with hearts, sweets, roses and balloons and also had a competition where you won gift cards for treatments that are great to give away in Valentine's Day gift! Either a "beard trim & brow pick" or an "Aroma leg and foot massage" :)

I then saw that we only had a few gift cards left, so instead I had to print my own. And since I would still print, I took the opportunity to put on some hearts in photoshop as well ♥

But then there was no photo paper so I printed on plain paper and let our two interns laminate the gift cards instead. However, when I saw the result, I thought that it was not so nice with laminated, so I kept looking and finally found small photo paper in postcard size that I could print on and it turned out so nice !!

The laminated gift cards really did not get ugly in any way and the time (and energy!) I put into making the perfect gift cards on postcard paper that I put in small nice gift bags may not have been financially defensible if you look at the hourly rate and value.

BUT I am convinced that this is exactly the quality of me - that I do not "settle" when something just feels ok, that it is one of the reasons why I will go far in my career. So despite this searching, editing in photoshop and messing with the technology before I got the postcard size out of the printer, I think all these dots over i-things will pay off in the long run :)

Here are the trainees laminating the gift cards that we then threw away haha! You should try not to do things unnecessarily, but sometimes you have to take that detour to get to the best solution.

    Work on the way home
Miska and I have been a little bad at taking the bus at the beginning of the cold winter, but in recent weeks we have only taken the bus every single day, good! The bus takes about 15-20 minutes longer than a car, but I try to see it as positive because then I have more working time! When you sit in the car for only 30 minutes, you just have time to start before you arrive.

This is what I usually do on the bus:

    • Publish photos on Instagram, both my own and on Creative Makeup's
    • Work via the computer just like in the office
    • Scroll through various beauty accounts to update me with trends, news, etc. It is a very important part of our company but something you should never spend time on when working in the office.

Here I am, with the thermos mug with coffee in full swing and will publish a commercial on the semmel day this Tuesday :) It is a funny video about permanent makeup that we named "Can your makeup do this?" where Annika (who is completely unmade up, only permanent makeup tattoos) bakes rolls with her brother who sprays cream on her face and then when she has dried it off she is just as nicely made up as before haha!

    Movies & work from home
Last Wednesday I worked from home and filmed a film about mineral foundation & powder for oily skin. Very fun to film again! It was a while ago.

However, it was a super long film to edit because there were a lot of reruns, I was really rusty in fact! But the movie of 1 hour and 12 minutes was finally cut to 6 minutes and I was happy with the result! So the whole day and evening was spent in front of the computer and iMovie. Got really tired of my own voice after that I can tell :)

You can see the whole movie and all my tips in this post if you missed it!

The only thing that made the haircut a little amusing was to see all the still images when talking, a lot of empathy here;)

    My to-do list routine
One thing I love to hear others talk about is their list routines! What layout you have on your to-do list and how to use it. Am I the only one who finds it interesting?

I am picky about almanacs and the most important requirements are: 1. It should be large, no small pocket almanac. 2. It should be a page for each day 3. It should be a spiral book so that I have it lying with the right day up all the time and not having to close it. An ordinary book must lie as a spread or be completely closed.

Every day I write today's to-do list in the almanac! Everything from mini-things just so as not to forget them to larger things that take a very long time. But often I divide big things into several points, such as intermediate goals, because it is a small trigger for the brain every time you get ironed and feel that you are moving forward and are diligent :)

Every time I finish a thing, I cross out a line and make a check mark on the page. If for some reason I have not had time for one of the things, I iron without doing a check and I write that point the next day instead.

But of course I have more things to do that do not fit exactly that day and I write that in a to do list on the computer:

Here you can see the top part of the list which contains a little "lighter" points, further down are a little more secret bigger things that will be fixed closer to spring;)

I like the simplicity of the digital, that it is a checkbox box that is checked off and that you can easily change and delete text. But I also need a paper list that I have next to me all day so that I do not have to "bring it out" later as with a document on the computer.

    Digital clears-Sunday
Now I will also spend Sunday in front of the computer, I take so many and so big pictures that the memory often becomes full. Right now I have full memory on the computer, in my dropbox and on the mobile. So have to delete mass and transfer to my external hard drive.

Feels like a waste of time, but it's a bad must and still perfectly Sunday! I'm going to sit and do technology with a cup of coffee and cuddle with my sick cat ♥

    Have a nice Sunday everyone!
