My business week v. 11

This week I have extreme spring and fresh start feelings! The week started a bit tough with various problems but within the course of the same week, everything has developed into new fresh ideas and inspiration instead :) When life gives you lemons, make lemonade or whatever you say haha.

And it has been a very creative time in the photo studio and blog / webshop as well so I am really happy with the variety!

Changes in g!
Nothing has been nailed yet so I can not go out with any details (boring person I know haha) but to illustrate what this week has looked like, I can retell a quick conversation from the middle of the week. At the breakfast table I told Miska ”do you feel like me about the salon?” ”what do you mean?"He replied"that there are a lot of loose threads and I have to write a list of everything because I can not have it as a blur in my head!"And then when we get to the salon Annika sits super peppered and happy and says"I have the worst list we are going to go through, now we are going to stir in the pot!”.

You know that one day you think that everything is spotless and just in order, the next day you get an idea that leads to an idea that is based on a problem that leads to a new idea, like so :) And now suddenly have a new development revealed before us!

It is mostly restructuring that affects us that runs the company more than it affects customers and other colleagues. Our goal is for the salon to be self-sustaining both practically and financially without Annika, me and Miska necessarily having to be on site every week, because that creates a rather insecure company. And this solution is a BIG step in that direction :)

Can certainly come with more info for you soon! Right now I'm just so pissed and happy and could not help but write off me!

Almost as peppered as when this week I tried to photograph all these products in the same picture! It went all the way to the forest though;)

Vabruari continues
Last week we had a real sick week and it continues this week too! I am healthy myself, but the schedule is completely reversed due to sick and waiting times for both colleagues and the booked customers.

The whole Tuesday was heeelt reversed in my planning. I had planned a whole photo day at home and also Frida would come by and use my mic to record a school assignment.

1. A makeup artist became ill and one has a holiday, so the 3rd worked alone, which meant that I had to be in the salon no later than 13.00 when that makeup artist would have lunch for an hour.

2. I therefore rebooked with Frida until earlier in the day and planned a photoshoot in the afternoon with a beard model at the salon because I was going there anyway. Our barber Niclas would start at 1 pm and I would go with him to Uppsala.

Frida becomes ill. I still plan to work from home in the morning because I would still get a ride from Niclas and bring camera stuff to the salon.

4. Niclas has to waddle. So I cancel the beard model and my only customer who was a brow pick in connection with haircut at Niclas.

So there was no photo day at all that Tuesday, neither at home nor at the salon, it did nothing for me but you have to change in the brain office and change the planning in the almanac only :)

However, I managed to do a step-by-step make-up + take swatch photos of the lip gloss on the morning twig before I went to the salon. So it was a little photo morning anyway!

Photo day in the home studio
Meen on Wednesday I got to a photo day at home! I have gone through the webshop and listed lots of products that need more beauty guides posts and took home a whole bag of products from the salon and have started the production of all new posts!

I also had time to film a video :)

The video was about products and tips for sustainable basic makeup. It's so sick how long it takes with movies, this one was 5.5 minutes long but the recording was a full 49 minutes! It's not 49 minutes of intense rehearsals and talk, but a bit of a break when you prepare and donate, but it still takes a very long time to check through and cut down the whole.

Focus on the webshop!
Now I am completely finished with my review of the webshop and all the beauty guides that I have bothered about in every single business week-Sunday post lately :)

I will continue to feed in with more make-up, make-up tips, films and swatch pictures on all products that have several shades, but now I am satisfied with the whole foundation and we will start to put more focus on marketing the webshop!

It is several years since I started the webshop but have never marketed it more than in my own channels. So no paid advertising but only people who follow me and the company. That it still goes around is super cool, but now I have built it up so well that it should be interesting even for people who do not know who I am as a person :) Or what do you think?

I pay tribute to Miska who is not tired of my "look how nice I have done!" on each product, such as Pixi H2O Skintint ”Here you first see 12 reviews, all of which are 5-star, here is a film on how I use this for a sustainable bass make-up, and below that you see pictures and links to posts on how the foundation gets on mature skin, acne skin, oily skin ”and eagerly awaits Miska's excited reaction to what I have achieved haha!

Am I the only one who thinks this approach is absolutely superb? If you click on the pictures at the bottom, you will come to a whole post with pictures and tips!

The concept is so heavenly flexible. When you follow different beauty blogs, it is a great inspiration, but it can be tricky with concrete tips because the blogger may not be completely familiar with how the different products are on different skin types (but only tested on their own) and you should buy all products so there will be lots of different orders from various websites. But the concept in the webshop is that I am completely immersed in all products and give everything from expert tips and advice to colorful inspiration! :)

The difficult thing is not to find products, but the difficult thing is that it is a whole jungle what to choose, what keeps what is promised and then perhaps the most difficult - how to use the products. I wonder how many products are sold today that only end up at the bottom of people's toiletries… it's not good!

Happy Helena in her photo studio! ;)

Now I'm going to have a home-fix-day and feel really refreshed and tagged on a new work week tomorrow!

But now I have all the shades at home again and the only thing I am craving every morning is to be able to use these pencils !! :)

Durable basic makeup

This post was a wish-post by a person who has problems getting the base make-up to hold, that it gets cakey, releases during the day or looks very powdery. I know that many people have these problems and hope and believe that many more will be helped by this post!

So I've fixed that now! :) Here is the film and also all tips in text format for those of you who prefer to read.

3 important points to keep in mind:

1. Choose products with good quality.
All products are different and it's not as simple as saying "choose a liquid foundation with good durability" because it is still a whole jungle with which products keep their promises.

2. Choose products that suit your skin type.
Good durability on a person with very oily skin is not the same products for a person with very dry skin. Here, too, some guidance is usually required because the brands usually only differentiate between "oily / normal" and "normal / dry", so to be on the safe side, it can be good to talk to a person with more experience about the product. For example. how does the product wrinkle? Does this foundation match this face primer? That's where I come in;)

In this post, I start from normal skin or a little oily / a little dry, but not super big problems with the skin.

3. Apply in a good way.
Often you take too much of each product so that it becomes thick layers or apply carelessly, and then it is not the same result as putting in an extra minute and working the products properly into the skin. The result on the same skin and with the same products can be completely different depending on how careful you are with the application.

Big difference huh? :) And yet natural! You can apply thinner of the foundation plus less concealer if you want less coverage than this as well.

Here are the products I used! (Not listed in the order I applied)

1. Face primer - Paese Makeup Base (Matte)
Do your skin care routine and let the moisturizer sink properly into the skin. Then apply face primer all over the face. I chose Paese Makeup Base (Matte) as it works on you with normal / dry skin as well (it is matte but does not emphasize dryness). But you can choose any other face primer in our range based on your wishes, they all work well with the other products.

Primer is important for durability as it makes the skin a better work surface to apply the rest of the makeup on later. So other products fold more evenly and last better.

Important for good durability: Massage into the skin thoroughly and apply a thin layer.

2. Foundation - Pixi H2O Skintint
This is a foundation gel that sinks into the skin and sits great! It is oil-free but moisturizing and fits well even in wrinkles and lines, so it really suits all skin types.

You do not need to massage it in because it sinks in by yourself so just "put on" the skin. Gives a semi-comprehensive result.

I use the shade Nude in this post but is probably actually the lighter shade Cream, but I was just tanned which I miss as it disappeared so quickly so live in denial and makeup on neck / décolleté also instead;)

Important for good durability: Thin layers, do not overdo the amount of foundation but rather supplement with concealer if you want more coverage.

3. Concealer - Pixi Pat Away Concealing Base
A liquid concealer that provides full coverage and becomes incredibly durable on the skin! It is creamy when applied but is fixed quickly and then fits very well.

I use the shade Cream which is the lightest because I want a lightening under the eyes. It is lighter than the foundation when I apply to e.g. blemishes, but since I apply contouring and blush as well, it does nothing, but you can have two different ones if you want a shade for the face and one for under the eyes.

Important for good durability: If you have a lot of redness around the nose (or other area), use a neutralizing powder that Glo Skin Beauty Redness Relief Powder which removes redness instead of applying thick layers of concealer. This is so that you do not have to have a lot of thick layers to achieve a good degree of coverage.

In addition, I put the concealer after foundation, because if you apply it, you easily use too much concealer because you want to cover a lot and do not think that foundation will come over as well. This then results in there being quite thick layers - which we, as I said, avoid if you want long durability :)

4. Pillows - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder
This foundation does not actually need to be fixed with powder, however, I always prefer to fix the concealer with powder for as lasting a result as possible.

Important for good durability: This is such a thin powder that it does not become cakey or similar, just to wrap on!

5. Fixing mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist
Finishing the makeup with a fixing mist becomes a protective layer for external stresses and makes the whole make-up even more durable! In addition, it makes all products blend better into the skin and if the skin looks powdery somewhere, it removes that surface.

Important for good durability: Before this step, you can put all your other products on the skin, such as contouring, blush, highlighter. If you want a completely matte base, you can put some powder over the fixing mist as well, when it has dried.

And here is the result! I myself need more powder because I am so oily, but apart from the oiliness, the whole base was just as nice only until I washed it off in the evening!

Nice, nice!

Hope you liked the post! I am bothered that the movies are not as good quality on Youtube as they are on my computer, although I have saved in a format that should work, but I have googled a lot on this and apparently it is always the case that the quality gets worse because Youtube changes the codes. So there's nothing I can do.

So I hope that it's just me who cares about the quality and that it does not do much for you who do not know how good the quality actually is? ;) I know I stare blindly at things so sometimes it's hard to decide for myself if it's justified criticism or not.

Swatch - Glo Skin Beauty Lip Gloss (Lip Gloss)

Finally we have taken in the lip gloss Glo Skin Beauty Lip Gloss in the webshop!

Since gloMinerals has been in the middle of name changes, packaging changes and also cleaning + news of shades, we have waited until everything is finished and this autumn these goodies landed in our store and web shop. And now I have taken swatch pictures too!

Here are the 6 shades in the range:

Best combination of shades! Everything from neutral to "my lips but better" and more colorful tones. I love everyone!

Feeling
The lip gloss is creamy and smooth, very comfortable on the lips both if you have a thin layer or apply a lot!

Packaging
Narrow and fine lip gloss sleeves that are easy to carry in the handbag and the applicator is a classic lip gloss applicator:

Formula
The lip gloss moisturizes, nourishes and protects the lips with natural ingredients such as antioxidants, sunflower oil, castor oil, vitamin E, aloe vera and camellia. If you use these lip glosses, you do not need lip balm. Has a discreet scent of fresh mint and the pigments come from pure minerals.

Results
All shades are incredibly high-gloss! Only the shade Pink Blossom also contains shimmer, the rest are glossy but not shimmery. They are also very rich in pigment, Pink Blossom is the most transparent but the rest gives a lot of color and coverage. If less color and coverage is desired, you can easily apply a thinner layer.

sustainability
The lip gloss fits very well on the lips and since they contain a lot of pigment, the color lasts a long time even when the gloss begins to fade during the day.

Pink blossom - Our best seller! The color is cold pink and becomes relatively transparent and neutral.

Taffy - A warm and clear tone that is apricot colored.

Flamingo - A clear peach pink color with a lot of pigment.

Beloved - A neutral "my lips but better" color with a lot of pigment.

Desert Bloom - A neutral "my lips but better" color that is cooler than Beloved.

Plumberry - A gloomy, berry purple-pink plum color with a lot of pigment.

My personal favorite is Beloved and that was my absolute most used lip gloss when I started blogging about makeup. I also remember that I had it with me when I was going to tattoo my lips for the first time to show what kind of shade I wanted :)

This is what Beloved looks like on the lips:

Fint va? :)

Just shout if you have any questions! Hug hug!

Olive glam eyeliner

An easy way to liven up a regular everyday make-up is to replace one of their earthy / black products with one with color! As in this make-up where I used an olive green eyeliner instead of a black eyeliner :)

Quick and easy!

Face primer - Paese Makeup Base (Matte)
Foundation -
gloMinerals Pressed Base Foundation (Golden medium)
Concealer -
Pixi Pat Away Concealing Base (1 Cream)
Contouring & highlighter - Contouring Palette (2)
Glowy highlighter - Pixi Glow-Y-Powder (London Luster)
Powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder
Rouge - Blush (35)
Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

Brynpenna - glo Skin Beauty Micro Brow Liner (Blonde)

Lip pencil - glo Skin Beauty Lip Pencil (Vin0)
Colored lip balm -
just faintly dabbed in the middle of the lip for a little more color, Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm (Ripe raspberry)

Painting an eyeliner wing with a blunt eyeliner is actually not that difficult as long as the pencil is creamy. I press quite a lot where I want a sharp edge and then at the tip of the eyeliner wing I angle the pen and am light on the hand. It will not be a razor-sharp eyeliner as if you have a liquid but smooth and nice anyway!

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
Light brown eye shadow on the entire eyelid, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (612)
  2. Light highlighter in the corner of the eye and under the brow and a little in the middle of the eyelid, Pixi Glow-Y-Powder (London Luster)
  3. Green eyeliner along the upper lash line and start the eyeliner wing with a line from the outer corner of the eye and outwards, Paese Linea Automatic Liner (Olive Glam)
  4. Fill in the eyeliner wing
  5. Black mascara on the upper lashes, Magnetic Lash Mascara

Clear!
