Party makeup before & after

Last week I had a customer from Stockholm who came to Creative Makeup for a make-up consultation with me for the second time, so fun!

Only the fact that people travel from another city is honoring (Stockholm is close to Uppsala but many from Stockholm have a tendency to think that Uppsala is like traveling to Norrland type haha) but everyone who also comes several times - the is good feedback :) ♥

The first make-up consultation was done last summer when she was going to do her own bridal makeup. Now she instead wanted to learn a make-up with more focus on a festive eye makeup!

If you want to see the previous make-up, you will find that post here! So big a difference from summer to winter really, in the previous pictures she is tan and very warm in both skin tone and hair color and has lots of freckles. Now she has lighter skin, cooler hair color + has saved the eyebrows which are wider which also makes a big difference on the whole face. Cool how to vary the look :)

Here is the result:

BASE:

Face primer - Paese Makeup Base (Matte)
Foundation - Pixi H2O Skintint (2 Nude)
Powders that remove redness - gloMinerals Redness Relief Powder
Contouring & highlighter - Pixi Book of beauty contour creator
Rouge - gloMinerals Blush (Papaya)
Fixing mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist
Dehydrating powders - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

We started with a face primer that is very matte for oily skin, then a water-resistant gel foundation. Tiny redness relief powder on cheeks and nose that removes redness incredibly effectively. Contouring and highlighter (both matte highlighter and with luster) and a rosy blush on the cheeks.

We finished with fixing mist and then degrading powder after that - I always apply the powder after the mist, otherwise the powder will absorb the mist.

Eyebrows - Pixi natural brow duo (Deep Brunette)

We filled in the eyebrows with a brow pencil that is shaped like a triangle (gives a very soft filling) and brow gel with a little color. Not much needed because she already has plump eyebrows.

EYES:

Eyeshadow Primer - Pixi eye bright primer
Eyeshadows - Paese Opal Eyeshadow (Colorado)
Light eyeliner along the waterline - gloMinerals Eye Pencil (Peach)
Eyeliner - Kryolan HD Cream Liner (Ebony)
Mascara - Magnetic lash mascara

We put dark eye shadow on the entire eyelid + over the crease line, then light in the middle of the eyelid and in the corner of the eye to get more shape and 3D effect on the eye. This was done with the darkest and lightest shade in Paese's trio palette. Under the eye we put dark in the outer edge and the palette's medium light eye shadow that goes more in the apricot direction, became very nice to her colors!

We then marked the eyes with lash marking / lashliner and brightened up the waterline with an off-white pencil. The mascara did a lot on her eyelashes too, so long and nice eyelashes :)

Lipstick - gloMinerals Suede Matte Crayon (Monogram)

On the lips we put a matte lipstick in a neutral tone.

So fine! :)

If you want to book a make-up consultation at Creative Makeup in Uppsala, you can do it online this spring website or call us on 018 10 50 13. A make-up consultation costs SEK 895 and optional products are included for the entire sum!

Smokey eyes & pink lips

When I have neutral eye make-up, I thrive (just because of taste in myself) best when the lip make-up goes to red, brown and murky purple tones, or light shades.

Bright pink tones, such as bubble gum and Barbie pink, I like best for either tropical make-up in turquoise, yellow, blue, green. Or to tougher eyes such as a dark smokey eye, then it will be such a nice contrast to such sweet lips!

And it is the latter, dark smoky smokey eyes, that I have supplemented today's barber pink lips with :)

Hope you like the look!

Eyeshadow at the outer edge of the eye (Get your eye makeup)

Hi Helena, I love your makeup and how you post pictures with step by step display, makes it so easy for me to buy these shadows and try to get an equivalent result. However, I have a hard time getting the shadow at the outer edge because I do not know what the shape should look like or how far to go? I never make an eyeliner wing because I never get it nice so have thought to ignore it o just put eye shadow, but then the shape is o how far out to paint a problem o know, please you can not you put up o show steps for step how to do =) / Malin.

Hi Malin! What fun that you like my makeup!

This is a very common question, and it has slightly different answers. But if you want to make it as easy for yourself as possible, I usually follow the eye's natural shape.

This is how I usually think:

  1. Eyeshadow out to the end of the eyelid, type where the eyelashes end
  2. Just above the globe line when looking straight ahead, then down towards the outer corner of the eye…
  3. … And down towards the lower lash line so that you connect the eyeshadow on the top with the underside in the outer corner of the eye.

Then you get an eye shadow shape that follows your own eye shape :)

Here you see step by step too!

Tip!
♥ Look straight ahead in the mirror when you shape the eye shadow, then you will see more clearly what your eye shape looks like if you stretch your eyebrow and half-look into the mirror.
♥ Use a smaller brush for the outer corner of the eye and the lower lash line than the one you use on the top of the eyes, it is much easier when you have precision. I use Nanshy Pencil Brush to it.

The rest of this make-up you will see finished pictures in a post soon :)

Hope you understood my pictures, just write a comment if you have any questions!
