Hand alcohol with pear scent (Alcogel)

Speaking of alcohols that I wrote about this morning - Something I hate is hand alcohol that does not have a good smell. I always spray my hands when I have make-up customers, and since I started working at Creative Make Up, there have been several customers a week and then it always feels a little mentally difficult to smell hand alcohol. As if you had a drink before haha.

And I do not like the smell of alcohol itself either, fy…

But now I got DAX Alcogel Pear & Lily in the goodie bag at the Beauty Awards, and it smells so good! It will just be great to spray my hands before my make-up and brow picks now! :)

Hand alcohol with pear scent

I have a small bottle of 50 ml, but HERE it costs only SEK 45 for a full 250 ml, so it is very cheap! Then it comes in a practical pump bottle as well. Must order it for the salon later :) It is also available in 50 ml and such a small one costs SEK 29. Perfect to carry in your handbag!

“DAX Disinfection products are well-proven and have been used in Swedish healthcare for more than 30 years.
DAX Alcogel Pear & Lily is a moisturizing hand disinfectant with a fresh scent of pears and white lilies.
The product is effective against bacteria and many types of viruses such as. cold viruses, influenza viruses and winter vomiting.

  • Smells fresh of pears and white lilies
  • Effectively kills bacteria and viruses
  • The product is a gel that is easy to apply on the hands
  • Moisturizes the skin
  • Approved according to EN1500
  • Effective against calicivirus / winter vomiting ”

The gel is more liquid than just over, dries quickly in the hands and the skin does not feel dry at all afterwards, just clean and fragrant!

Two thumbs up! :)

Orange is the new black

Before I changed the nail polish to the chalk white color that I showed you yesterday, I just had to do a make-up where I had the apricot-orange nail polish and orange eye shadow, so nice!

Orange was a very trendy color last spring, many had it on both nails and lips. And this year I hope that the trend ends up on the eyes as well, it's so nice :)

Alcohol in beauty products

I just emailed a reader who recently bought the Maybelline Dream Wonder Nude Foundation, and every time she uses it, it itches in her throat (inside her throat) and I wondered if she was allergic or what it was due to.

Then I checked the list of ingredients, and the first ingredients are the ones that the product contains the most, and there are mostly different kinds of silicones and already in 3rd place comes Alcohol Denat, so there is a lot of alcohol in the product.

So that's why I was inspired to bring up this with alcohol in beauty products in a post, because you can not put a = sign between "alcohol" and "dehydration" as many do, but it is much more complicated than that!

But I still take it a little briefly:

alcohol-in-beauty products

Fatty alcohols - (For example, cety alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, stearyl and behenyl alcohol) are various alcohols which are not dehydrating. They are mainly used to give products a creamy and smooth texture.

Dehydrating alcohols - (For example Ethanol, Alcohol denat, Denaturated alcohol, Isopropyl alcohol, SD alcohol) are alcohols to be a little careful with, they are used for various reasons but among other things due to the preservative effect. But they are also dehydrating and bactericidal, and are used in e.g. disinfectant.

Alcohol Denat in Maybelline's new foundation is basically the alcohol we drink, but it is a bit made up with disgusting taste, etc. so that you do not want to drink e.g. hair spray and rubbing alcohol.

BUT it is not necessarily bad with these alcohols either, as long as they are not present in such a large amount in the product. Because it is the end product that determines whether it is dehydrating for the skin or not, not a single ingredient. Many natural products contain alcohol to avoid synthetic ingredients, but because they are enriched with so many moisturizing ingredients, the small amount of alcohol does no harm at all.

In Maybelline's foundation though, where the first ingredients are silicones, and silicones are not necessarily bad either (may be, this is also a jungle) but they do not moisturize the skin, and therefore the end product can be irritating to the skin. Or the airways in this case, which my reader had received.

Summary- Not all alcohols are dehydrating, and those that are will not dry out your skin as long as they get far down the ingredient list (provided the ingredients before are moisturizing).

Then all this is actually an even bigger jungle, e.g. that cetyl alcohol which is a fatty alcohol is mainly produced from palm oil, which in turn contributes to the devastation of the rainforest… But not everyone does either, it can also come from e.g. coconuts.

So, you need to be pretty much more knowledgeable than this if you are to understand everything that is on the back of products! But now you know at least briefly about how alcohol affects the skin :)

Chalky nails

If there is something I am weak for, it is white nails, I love colors but just on the nails, I feel most comfortable in completely chalk white! Nice and fresh, but still not boring :)

So that's why I thought I would tell you about just such a nail polish! Paese Nail Polish in shade 102 is chalk white and solid! I use two layers to get as nice a result as possible (different on different shades, some shades only require one layer).

And speaking of these, yesterday I talked to my friend Frida who bought the shade 135 (light purple) and said "you know how my nails are, like no nail polish lasts, but I painted this on Tuesday and it still looks completely freshly painted !!And on her did not even hold Depends gel polish haha. So there is proof of how good these varnishes are :)

I have been careless and not filed or fiddled with my nails at all for a long time, but it does not bother me so much with uneven lengths and shapes as long as they are so nicely painted! :)

This chalk-white shade is therefore called 102 and is on Byher.se for SEK 49!

Shakira Curls Tutorial (Curls in the hair)

The other day I showed one cherry makeup and then got some questions about my curly hair! Not only on the blog and instagram, but also when I showed up outside the door here in Gimo, super fun :)

It's very easy to do! I who am so bad at hair manage to do it on myself without any problems. I only use a small pair of pliers. I have written about this curling iron a little quickly before, but thought to make a little more detailed post now that the interest seems to be there!

So today I curled my hair again and took some pictures for you, I hope they are helpful :)

Curls like this always look best after a few hours, I think, when they have settled in a little more, then you get a little more "nice sloppy" look, a bit like Shakira!

My pictures were taken right after I finished, but they will look their best tonight. And the best part is that they usually hold up damn well too, so they will surely look good for several days :)

small-curling iron

The curling iron I have used to get such small and nice curls, it is a very small curling iron - HH Simonsen Go Mini Beach Waver which is currently actually available at a SALE price HERE! Costs SEK 479 instead of SEK 599

settings-curling iron-copy

I love everything with this pliers, except that the only settings are on / off, so you can not change the heat at all but it is at the dot 200 degrees which is a bit too hot in my opinion, 180 I usually drive on. So do not skimp on the heat protection!

curly-hair

1. Spray the hair with heat protection, I love Living Proof Instant Protection which protects the hair up to 232 degrees.

2. Divide the hair into lower and upper hair. Or even more divided if you have thick hair.

3. Start curling the lashes, I usually start in the back of my head and work my way forward, I think that's easiest!

4. Once you have reached the upper hair, put the hair in a leg like you not want. Do you want e.g. have oblique legs so do a middle leg.

small-curls-legs

Here you see why you should not attract in the legs that you want later, haha.

5. Transfer some hair from one side to the other so that the curls look good even in the legs.

6. Pull the hair apart so that it is no longer divided into loops, and ruffle it a little! I usually headbang a few times, then it usually settles nicely without getting fresh.

hair spray curls

7. Spray with hair spray on the entire hairstyle. I like GHD Style Final Fix Spray*! It gets quite hard in the hair if you take a lot, but it makes the curls hold up just fine :)

And then it's done!

And as I said, here the curls are completely freshly made, but they will only get nicer and nicer, just puff up the volume and spray dry shampoo when needed. And if it becomes a felt, e.g. when you sleep, you have to sort it out but your fingers, it does not look good if you brush through it.
