I often get questions from people who really only want to use makeup and products with high quality and good content that is both natural and good for the environment - But it is not always the case that the wallet agrees.
Of course, everyone would feel good from eye shadows that not only give a nice color but also care for the sensitive skin around the eyes, especially when you have reached a little age. Or blush that moisturizes the skin and reduces pigment spots. But reality does not look like that for everyone and then a common question is "which products are important, and which can be bought in inferior quality without getting a bad result or is bad for the skin?”.
A good basic rule to keep in mind is to prioritize what is closest to the skin!
A good base is important both for the skin and for durability, if you have a good foundation you can use a super cheap blush, and if you have a good eye shadow primer you can get yourself in cheap eye shadows as well.
Products I prioritize - All skin care, face primer, concealer, foundation, eye shadow primer, mascara
Products I do not prioritize as much - Rouge, sun powder, highlighters, eye shadows, eyebrow makeup, eyeliner
Then of course there can be a big difference in quality, but if you have to prioritize, that's how I would think. And if you have problems with dry lips, I would also prioritize good lip makeup, but if you do not have it, you can use cheap lip products as well.
Then it is the case that in the current situation it does not have to cost super much to get good quality, Paese for example is a brand with an average of 85% natural ingredients in the range and they have incredibly affordable products, but this post is not just aimed at what to buy, but also what is already in the make-up bag.
"Should I use my foundation that I bought for SEK 99 at H&M 3 years ago?" No!
"Can I use my eyeshadow palette that I bought for SEK 10 in China?" Yes, if you have a good eye shadow primer.
Type, do you understand what I mean? :)
Oh what an interesting post. I am just slowly building up a "make-up wardrobe" (hehe) with high quality, but as a poor student I can only change one product at a time.
Most recently I bought a MAC powder the ones I love.
Right now I use a true match foundation from Loréal and a primer from rimmel.
Which of the two products would you recommend that I replace next?
I have extremely, EXTREMELY oily skin and would like tips on suitable products.
Hug
What fun to hear! :) I would probably say that foundation is most prioritized to replace than face primer, of course face primer is closer to the skin but also a product that you can actually do without. A good foundation gets better with a good primer, but a good foundation is also good without primer :)
I who also have extremely oily skin really can not have any foundations, the best for me is mineral foundation or Pixi H2O Skintint which is a water-based gel foundation. The very best combo for me (and many customers to me) is 1 primer Paese Makeup Base Matte 2 mineral foundation or H2O Skintint and 3 Paese Bamboo Silk Powder. Hug! :)
Thank you very much for the answer! Looking past the store some day and testing some foundations! 😊
