I am so happy and so PROUD of this collaboration with the brand Globe Hope which manufactures environmentally friendly clothes, bags and accessories from recycled materials! :)
To not only be able to recommend really nice bags (which I will show you now!) But also contribute to more sustainable consumption while helping an important company to grow - it feels good in the soul!
How to consume more sustainably?
Many people feel kind to the environment when shopping second hand. Often, however, it is not just that simple;) Second hand is of course better than always buying new production, but there are three other aspects that in my opinion are much more important:
Buy things with high quality! Example: A person uses a sweater five times, donates it to a second hand, you buy it and after 5 more uses it breaks. You then throw it away with a clear conscience, but a sweater that is produced and transported far to be used so few times is not durable!
Making stuff instead of throwing it away is also good :)
2. Think about it if you really need and like what you are going to buy. I get a lot of clothes when others clean their closets and there are OFTEN price tags left. Shopping for the sake of shopping is not a good idea.
Shop environmentally friendly clothing (and other) in recycled materials.
4. Shop locally produced, to minimize long transports.
The Finnish brand Globe Hope circle all these points at once! 1. My first thought when I got the bags home was "they feel really solid and quality!". 2. I will use them a lot because they are so heavenly beautiful! 3. They are made of recycled material. Globe Hope uses new metal parts, zippers and wire, but 90% of the product is recycled material. And 4. a large part of their production is located in Finland and the Baltic countries.
Globe Hope makes environmentally friendly clothing & accessories using high-quality recycled materials (eg seat belts, army clothing and sails) as well as surplus materials such as waste pieces that cannot be used in other productions.
Do you know what they also offer? Repair service! Once the accident has occurred, you do not need to throw away the product but can send it to their tailor and then get it back as new again! This is free within 12 months of purchase.
Eco-friendly handbag made from recycled seat belts!
Do you know how I feel about this bag? I'm PROUD! Globe Hope Loska Laptop Bag is stylish, practical and a really good conversation starter in addition haha!
You do not think at first glance that it is made of seat belts, but once you hear it, it is super clear! Which I think is very funny :)
It is a computer bag and I almost always have my computer with me, but regardless of whether I have it or not, I use this as a regular handbag!
Shoulder straps have it too! Which can be adjusted in length. Can also be removed completely.
The seat belts are cleaned and sorted in Finland and the entire handbag is sewn in Finland.
On the inside there are compartments for the computer and a smaller compartment for other things. Just right in my opinion!
My previous handbag has as many compartments as possible, and yes, it looks very tidy when I look down, but I never know in which compartment anything is! I always feel with my hand in five compartments before I find the right one haha. Totally opposite effect :) But this one is perfect!
Handbag made of surplus fabrics
Viima Backpack is a spacious and flexible backpack in strong material. The material is cotton and the fabric is surplus fabric that has not been used in other production.
The material is washed and sorted in Finland and the bag is sewn in Estonia.
SO nice too! I have not had a backpack since I went to school but this is not a silly backpack as 14-year-old Helena had said;) Jokes aside but this is more like a really nice handbag that you can also have on your back! Love it!
Wow what this will be used this summer! When we pack felt and buns and row out with the boat for example. Then you will not look like a rookie will not;)
I have the incredibly beautiful color Forest Green! Also available in black and in a smaller version, I have the big one :)
The bag has two outer compartments where you can put things that you want to easily access. The inside is divided into two so there you can also separate different gadgets in a smooth way. You open the zipper and it's like a bag!
Small handbag made of surplus material
Ilma Pouch is a small handbag perfect to hang over the shoulder when you only need to bring the most important things; mobile and debit card I think :)
The material is fake clothes and ropes that have been left over in other productions. The material is washed and sorted in Finland and the bag is sewn in Estonia.
I have the color Sand but it is also available in light lavender, gold and old pink.
Tips from coach Helena - A tip that is not about environmentally friendly clothes and bags, but just purely practical in everyday life: If Miska and I are on the go, I always have a small handbag in my big handbag. You often need to bring a lot of things with you, but if you are going to go shopping somewhere, you do not want to drag everything. Then I just take out the little bag and leave the rest in the car!
By the way, speaking of environmentally friendly clothing. I often get clothes when my siblings and friends clean their closets. Both sweaters in this picture are made in good quality because I have used them and used them a lot myself! :)
It also has a zipper, flexible!
Last but not least, I have to tell you that Globe Hope has more handbags made from seat belts! Different colors, sizes and even a backpack variant! The smaller version made of seat belts is called Halla and is available in black, RED and lime green! Oh what I want the red and the green too! How coola ?! Will wish me a birthday present;)
But Globe Hope does not only have handbags! They also have environmentally friendly clothes (also for men) in e.g. recycled polyester. As well as jewelry and fabric face masks in various patterns.
I have not tested anything other than these bags, but guess that the rest of the range is of the same high standard. They are very open on the website as well, printing out where each product is made and all the details about the materials on that particular product. Incredibly good I think! :)
