When Saturday came, I just felt "wow, I made it this week too!" :)
Preparations for 1 November
The whole Monday and Tuesday basically consisted only of finishing everything before 1 November when all 16 campaign photos (you can see 4 of them on the front page of Creativemakeup.se) would be ready, all news would be up in the webshop and then we had autumn events in the evening as well. At the same time as all other regular work must be kept up as usual.
This Tuesday I therefore worked from home and wore in front of the computer, but you can still have it cozy:
Bonfire, rag socks, coffee and the computer in your lap on the sofa :) It's easy to sit from morning to night and work when you make it a cozy moment!
Autumn event at the salon!
This Wednesday we had an autumn event at the salon, always just as fun!
We love events and have nailed 2 large events a year - one for spring / summer and one for autumn / winter. Then we have some plans for smaller theme events, for example an evening for just Hairology and hair analyzes and stuff that I hope we get started with soon :)
Here Ida prepares bonfires, non-alcoholic cider and snacks!
Here is the make-up place where I would hold a presentation about the news and show off the products of my sister Mia who posed as a model during the evening :)
So much fun when the store is full of people who want makeup tips and product recommendations! The only thing that is sad is that I never have time to talk to everyone, we have more makeup artists so everyone gets help but I want to have time to chat with everyone too haha :)
We had really good offers on products and also all the treatments that were booked on site!
Annika welcomes everyone here!
During our presentation, Annika presented our staff and talked a bit about that beauty is wellness, which we realized after working in this industry for a long time now. Many people think that we work with only beauty and surface, but to take care of yourself and be cared for and do something just for your own sake is actually health and wellness as well. Seeing a lively person in the mirror also makes the brain feel livelier and happier!
Then Ämma talked about fibroblast (you can read more about that treatment here) and that she is now ready to take apprenticeships for lashliner for only 1500: -! This was not an offer just for the evening but everyone who booked had the first thing on the times in November and December and I think there is only one bookable time left now :)
Helene talked about her treatments and mostly about the popular carboxy cure that makes the skin heal itself and removes stretch marks, fat cells and much more. You can read about it here also.
Then it was my turn and I tipped everyone about beauty guides we have on the website but mainly I showed all our news!
So love all the news ♥
I really had to struggle to be reasonably concise, I can talk about our products for exactly any length of time haha.
Then it was mingling and make-up tips, trying out colors, helping customers book appointments and socializing and mingling around with all the good customers that mattered :)
A very successful event in other words!
Kissing meetings (ppersonal udevelopmentssamtal)
Last Thursday we had kissing meetings again, which we always have at the beginning of each month. Before we started with these, I thought that these meetings might be a bit redundant because we have staff meetings with the whole team every other week + a small company with good communication already. But I really have to strike a blow to sit down alone with each person and talk - it gives an incredible amount!
Just this week, the kiss meetings have felt extra important and several misunderstandings have been rectified, urgent things have come up that need to be resolved and I am so grateful to work with people who are open so that you can solve things at an early stage. It creates more jobs for me now but will reduce the number of problems in the future :)
We have these kiss meetings for the staff to develop, but I myself probably develop at least as much actually haha!
Blogging
This week I promised myself to blog every day even though I had a lot going on - but I missed Friday and Saturday, attans! This with the number of blog posts has really dropped in the blog world in recent years and I hear more talk about "posts a week" than "posts a day" as they said before. 5-7 posts a week feels pretty common? I do not know if it's because bloggers usually have a lot more balls in the air now and do not have as much time to blog, or if it is the readers who have it and do not have time to check a blog several times a day?
3 years ago I made 3 posts a day on Imakeyousmile.se and one post a day on Modernmom.se - Laila Bagge and Pernilla Wahlgren's blog page where I wrote about beauty before it was discontinued and they started blogging in different places again. So 4 posts a day!
Now my standard is one post a day and I think it feels right. There is something new every day you go in but if you have missed a few days it is not a whole book to read as well.
How much update do you think is appropriate? :) Do you even notice if I missed blogging two days in a row? :) Nowadays, it's a bit more Instagram that counts and I often hear "I follow you on instagram" instead of "I read your blog" by customers at the salon. But I still feel that I have more followers and life in the blog than on Instagram. By the way, must get better on the update on Instagram too haha, but I think it's so messy that you have to use the phone - I'm a computer person :)
Do you remember the time I blogged on Modernmom.se? :)
To always "lag behind" in the planning due to setting an unreasonable plan yourself
As a self-employed person, you decide for yourself how to set up your work, which is a huge advantage, but I also have a tendency to put too much on my to-do list, which means that I am always behind. For how much I wants catch up and how much I can catching up are two different things, then there are some urgent things that take even time as well.
And those are exactly the thoughts I have right now. As you know, we renovate at home and last Friday I worked from home to be able to brush the wax oil on the floors downstairs when everyone was at work. But I really did not think it would take that long but planned to get a lot of work done during the drying time. I had a romanticized image of painting the floor up to the study (where the floor is already finished) and then being "painted" and stuck to working and getting so much done haha.
But my incredibly long to do list I did not even have time to touch. I started brushing on the floors when Miska went to work and drew the last brushstrokes when he got home, had dinner with my sister when it dried (2 hours drying time) then I brushed the second layer in one of the rooms and then the evening was over.
So nothing on my to do list was urgent and can just as well wait until Monday, but only because I had Certainly that all it would be finished, it has gnawed at me during the weekend that "I am behind" and I have a very hard time deciding now whether I should cook sweets in bed and watch movies the rest of Sunday or if I should work instead haha .
But it is actually also the case that you are more efficient when you are rested, so now I will actually snuggle under a blanket for the rest of Sunday and let go of all demands and musts without a guilty conscience :)
Hugs are!
I would like to have as many posts as possible (a) but 1 a day is good 🙂 I notice if you have not written 💚
Oh what fun to hear! 💚 :)
