My business week v. 10

This week's "My business week" is in collaboration with Skyltmax.se.

This week I have had to fight a little extra hard to keep my energy up as I have had a fever for four of the days and a lot to do.

But with the results in hand, it has gone very well anyway! I have had a lot done, gone to bed just a little extra early and I have worked a little extra a lot at home over the weekend so I feel that I am in phase :)

To be an ingredient nerd
I have said several times that I wish there was a chemist education that only focuses on beauty products. An education that is very thorough but still so short and easy that you can educate yourself "just for fun". I think it's so much fun with the INCI list of beauty products and wish I understood everything everything everything!

I wonder how much time I spent searching for ingredients on Google .. haha!

But as the ingredient nerd I am, I happened to see the ingredient list on my favorite product Multi Treat had changed a little. How sick is it not really, who notices that? In any case, when there are such small changes, the brands do not usually get in touch with all retailers because it is an insignificant change, but since we print all inci lists in the webshop, it is very important to us that they are correct.

Among other things, I saw that Multi treat now contains the ingredient "Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate" which I became unsure whether it is a sulfate or not. It sounds like that on the name and the googling did not make me wiser. But a big point with Multi treat is that you should have it as a cleanser in the lengths instead of shampoo, because shampoos dissolve grease (most with the help of sulfates, sulfates are salty) and you do not have grease in the lengths. So it would be weird if Multi treat also contains sulfates now I thought.

So I emailed Hårologi about this and got an answer immediately! ”Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate is not a cleansing foaming surfactant without a greasy emulsifier”. So it is just a new emulsifier for the cream to be even and stable and not cut with the oil and water. In addition, the product contains only 0.5% of the ingredient.

Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either. :) Now I just hope that some customer comes in and asks about this because then I can excel with my deep knowledge haha!

Nameplates and Beauty Guide sign from Skyltmax!
When I received the request for cooperation with Skyltmax so it was so fitting because we had just planned to order some new signs.

Among other things, nameplates for everyone at the salon because it is so often customers ask "what is your name?" at the checkout so they can book the same person again because they were so happy.

But also a sign to the waiting room that we have Beauty Guides with make-up tips and inspiration on the website!

Here is our waiting room and over the reclining armchairs you will see the new sign! :) It is a plastic sign that is ordered from the category "plastic signs”And the actual printing we have done ourselves and uploaded.

What do you think? :) Annika designed the sign.

Is very happy with the sign and thinks that the quality feels good and above all that the print is nice. I am otherwise picky about printing with photos because I work so much with the pictures and know exactly what shade all colors have on the computer. But I think it turned out great in color, no difference at all from our original picture!

The nameplates are from the category "nameplate engraving ”. Very nice I think! We chose brass and black engraving :)

Feels nice!

Summa summarum - I can recommend sign max! :)

Sick and baby times
This season really reminds us of our schedule! Customers cancel at short notice because they either become ill themselves or have children who are ill. And two of my colleagues this week have had to cuddle with their children!

It has gone well anyway in the end, but it will be a puzzle in the schedule and quick changes!

In addition, I myself have been ill, thankfully not cold but I had a fever Monday-Thursday. It has gone well anyway because I have survived on antipyretic tablets haha, but still you have to make an extra effort to keep the efficiency up and not get tired. You are still not at the top.

Also, I bled nosebleeds at work last Thursday, I usually never do! So it was as if the body was saying no. Meen the next day I woke up fever free so I did not have to take any drastic measures;)

My best combo that my mother taught me: 2 alvedon and 1 ipren. I joked with my sister that I do not feel bad because of the fever when the tablets start to go out of the body but because of abstinence because I eat so many haha!

But if you only worked the days you feel tip top, you would not get so much done in this world;)

Invest money
This summer, Miska and Annika and I sat and discussed various sources of income in the company. Having only income from one place makes the company quite insecure. Let's say we had only worked with teeth whitening, then teeth whitening is banned and suddenly we have no business left. Now, teeth whitening is not our biggest focus at all, but a good example that things in the outside world can happen that we can not control.

It is important to have several legs to stand on, for us these are currently 1. the salon 2. the webshop and now also 3. investments! Adult points I know;) and I can also add a 4. which is a type of consulting job and other income. Miska has helped other companies with technology stuff such as websites etc. and I have worked a lot with Disruptive Materials which I wrote earlier.

This week we had a meeting with the CEO of one of the companies we invested in. However, I was not part of it but thought it was very inspiring when Miska recounted everything. I myself am interested on a more superficial level but I am happy that Miska thinks it is more fun and takes hold of the decision part so that things are done :)

We have invested in 3 different companies, all of which are high risk and two of them will (if it goes as planned of course) give returns very quickly. They are completely new but have a lot of experience, sky-high visions and if their forecast is correct, we will return several million in just 2 years. That would be cool!

I think it is SO fun to invest with high risk, when you are involved in starting a company, there are so many opportunities to make the money grow!

All companies we have invested in are technology companies. Two of the companies work with VR, ie virtual reality, but with two different specializations. The third company took me half an hour to understand myself so there is no point in me starting to explain in text;) but it is in the technology-system-game-future-turn. But Miska knows so you do not have to worry haha!

Had to sneak a photo of Miska when he sat and looked so smart;)

To be a good boss
The word boss is something that I have a very hard time identifying myself as. Even though I have all the tasks and responsibilities that a manager has, that word feels like I would automatically be "above" everyone and have lots of more experience. But that is certainly not the case! I look up to everyone who works here and many have more experience than me in many areas.

But the fact remains, I am the manager and it is my job to make the team feel comfortable at work, make everyone develop as people and feel involved in the company's development. Simply enjoy the job!

So I have realized more and more that I am actually a boss, and above all, I actually think I am one Good boss too! Can you say that? Lol. Not a perfect boss then but still a good boss! I think it is so important that everyone is happy and sometimes I feel bad because you always want to be able to do more.

But there is still a lot that we do for everyone at Creative Makeup:

  • Everyone got their holidays they wanted this summer, although it was not really the most optimal solution for the company.
  • If you are scheduled for Christmas Eve, you are free with pay.
  • You only pay material costs for expensive treatments such as permanent makeup. How many get a free eyebrow tattoo at work as well! :)
  • Everyone got a lot of makeup and products as a Christmas present
  • We have offered many dinners and at the time of writing are planning a date for the next dinner in early April. And our kickoff day we arranged at Odalgården (cozy conference place) and had a very cozy time together with coffee and dinner.
  • Everyone is involved in the company's development and in principle all improvements that are desired we take on.
  • All makeup artists got to go to a make-up fair together during working hours (ie full pay all day!) As a fun thing to do together :)
  • Everyone has been given areas to develop in so that it is not boring and "the same same" at work. We have regular meetings both together and in person.
  • We value our staff and the basic salary is already well above salaries according to collective agreements for this industry in the case of new employment.
  • Occupational pension and insurance corresponding to collective agreements.
  • If you work overtime, you get paid time for it, and you can take it out how you want as long as you say so in time. I know that there are several workplaces where you get time off, but that it can only be taken out when it is "quiet" so you can not take a whole day off, e.g.

Surely it's a pretty nice workplace, right? :) I do not have much experience of being employed myself so I do not have much to compare with. It is also a balancing act between that you also have to put the company first, if e.g. the economy is going down, there is no workplace at all and that is not nice either.

In fact, I'm a little eager to get a mentor for the whole boss part. We are 3 people who are helped, so it is not really needed, but sometimes you would just want a ballpark with an outsider, what can you do for improvements, etc. Anyone who shows up? :)

A bit fitting picture anyway in some way, haha!

Otherwise, there have not been so many special things this week, I have worked hard to update the web shop, made material for blogs and beauty guides, had several customers, made new pictures for our touch screen in the store that we use when we talk about our different treatments. So it has been a bit of a creative job too! :)

Hope your week has been good and that you are not too cold and snotty ♥

Hugs are!

Makeup #1096

I checked for fun how many make-ups I have published in the blog over the years, I could only see from October 2012 because that was when I started with the category "make-up" and I did not have time to put in more research than that;)

The answer is anyway that this is makeup number 1096! On imakeyousmile.se since the autumn of 2012. I thought it sounded a bit at first haha but it is an average of 17 make-ups a month, which I think sounds reasonable! I do not do step-by-step make-up exactly every day but several a week!

But I have blogged makeup since the summer of 2010 + done a lot of makeup for Modernmom.se when I blogged for Laila Bagge and Pernilla Wahlgren so it is a lot more if you were to know the exact total, but you do not have time for that haha :)

Enough about that! Today's make - up I had at the birthday celebration of my best friend Frida who turned 25 in Sunday's woop woop!

Face primer - Paese Makeup Base (Matte)
Foundation -
gloMinerals Pressed Base Foundation (Honey fair)
Concealer -
Pixi Pat Away Concealing Base (1 Cream)
Contouring & highlighter - Contouring Palette (2)
Glowy highlighter - Pixi Glow-Y-Powder (London Luster)
Powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder
Rouge - Blush (35)
Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

Brynpenna - glo Skin Beauty Micro Brow Pencil (Blonde)

Lips - glo Skin Beauty Suede Matte Crayon (Trademark)

I wore a different lip color at first, but when I finished my eyes I wanted to change to the Trademark shade. So I painted on that lipstick over only, that's why the color is a little more colorful in the contours of the lipstick underneath shines through a bit :)

My niece Mila (7 years old) was very impressed with my eyeliner wing "how did you do that ??" she asked haha. The answer is as simple as that I would fill it in like a regular eyeliner wing really but then I got to the lines quite well and thought it was cool to leave the wing empty :)

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
Orange-pink (?) Eye shadow on the entire eyelid, Paese cashmere trio eyeshadow (681)
  2. Fade the eyeshadow
  3. Gold shadow in the middle of the eyelid and along the globe line, glo Skin Beauty Shadow Palette (Mixed Metals)
  4. Brown eye shadow thin at the end of the eyelid and slightly up towards the crease line, glo Skin Beauty Shadow Palette (Mixed Metals)
  5. Black eyeliner with wing, Paese liquid Eyeliner
  6. Gold shadow in the corner of the eye
White eye shadow in the corner of the eye, at the bottom of the lower lash line and under the eyeliner, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (601)
  7. Olive eyeliner along the waterline and the lower lash line, Paese Linea Automatic Liner (Olive Glam)
  8. Black mascara on all lashes, Magnetic lash mascara

Clear!

Love the green under the eye along with the colors on the eyelid, it turned out to be such a nice combo!

Have a great day everyone ♥

You can not buy joy… but!

Haha I really love this quote:

This is exactly how I feel about makeup! Pure happiness haha! There are few things in life that get my happiness and inspiration going as fast as makeup and products.

In addition, I have a lot of fever now and then, makeup is not primarily about seasoning life but about survival haha.

You would see my reflection last night when I woke up with a fever and went up to take alvedon. If I felt sick before, it was nothing after I saw the shiny-eyed, cow-backed, gray lady in the mirror! Think that in the course of a day you can go from super nice to so worn;)

But alvedon, ipren, concealer, red lips and a smile on it, I feel like myself again! My brain is gullible and I like it!

Now I will continue to work on this in front of the computer screen.

Have a great Wednesday everyone ♥

Golden cut crease tutorial (Step by step makeup)

I was hungry for gold and earthy tones but did not want a "regular" make-up but still do something extra creative - so it was a golden cut crease with a little quick with nice details around the eyeliner :)

Hope you like the look too!

Foundation - gloMinerals Pressed Base Foundation (Golden medium)
Concealer -
Pixi Pat Away Concealing Base (1 Cream)
Contouring & highlighter - Contouring Palette (2)
Powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder
Rouge - Blush (35)
Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

Brynpenna - Benecos Eyebrow Designer (Brunette)

Lips– Paese Matt Liquid Lipstick (708) and the lip pencil glo Lip Pencil (Pronto) in the contours.

The eye shadows are the ones marked in the palette above, glo Skin Beauty Shadow Palette (Mixed Metals) + a white matte single shade from Paese.

The brown and white over the eyeliner wing does the whole make-up I think :)

All eye shadows are from glo Skin Beauty Shadow Palette (Mixed Metals) unless otherwise stated below:

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
Brown eye shadow as a line from the outer corner of the eye.
  2. Make as an eyeliner with wing of the brown shadow
  3. Look straight ahead in the mirror and put the same brown shadow over the globe line
  4. Continue with the shadow outwards in the same direction as the brown eyeliner wing, so that there is a gap between
  5. Gold eyeshadow to fill in the gap on the eyelid.
  6. White eye shadow over the eyeliner wing, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (601)
  7. Black eyeliner with wing, Paese Liquid liner
  8. White eye shadow in the corner of the eye and gold at the bottom of the lower lash line
Black mascara on the upper lashes, Magnetic lash mascara

Clear!

Hugs are! ♥
