Party makeup - A real party make-up for the party! (Gradually)

Here are step by step the party make-up / party makeup I had on New Year's Eve! I did not feel ugly right away I can admit;)

It felt like a little extra important to start 2021 at the top! With glitter makeup and Hollywood curls.

I even managed to curl my hair nicely, I who can not even curl the hair on myself. Only it felt like a good sign, right? ;)

We were just at home. Ate fine dining, had disco lamp for Mileya (soon 2 years) and popped music! But even though it was not a real party, I had my nicest jumpsuit that was bought when I was nominated for the Blog Awards 2014, pink fluff sweater, glitter nails, curly hair and a proper party make-up with a grid and smoky eyeliner!

It sounds like a lot, but I really think this eye makeup is a perfect party makeup for many! It is very festive but not too dark, not too protruding (earthy eye shadows and neutral lip color) and is pretty easy to do too.

Here is the result! I look quite tanned but it is 100 kg bronzer. I'm really pale hehe.

Party makeup - step by step:

Eye primer, Pixi Eye bright Primer
Light eye shadow on the inside of the eyelid and in the corner of the eye, glo Skin Beauty Eyeshadow Quad (Bon Voyage)
Medium brown shimmer shadow in the middle of the eyelid, glo Skin Beauty Eyeshadow Quad (Bon Voyage)
Dark brown shadow at the end of the eyelid, glo Skin Beauty Eyeshadow Quad (Bon Voyage)
Take a small brush and shape the outer edge like a sharp cat eye (not so carefully, mostly to sketch the shape)
Fade the edge, but still leave the underside a little sharp
Medium brown shade along the globe line
Dark brown shadow under the eye
Black eyeshadow as smoky eyeliner with wing, Paese Kashmir Eyeshadow (602)
Glitter in the middle of the eyelid and under the eye, Mood Wood Natural Glitter (Purple) attached with Kryolan Cake Liner Sealer.
Black mascara on all lashes, Magnetic Lash Mascara

Clear! A nice party makeup that sparkles magically!

My waterline is tattooed light. So for exactly the same eyes, you can supplement with glo Skin Beauty Eye Pencil (Peach) too.

Curl your hair on yourself:

I have received some questions (when I posted pictures of my party makeup on insta story on New Year's Eve @helenaamiley) about how I have curled my hair. Actually, I'm totally pissed (!) At curling my own hair, but this is what I did anyway:

I have used:

A narrow cone-shaped curling iron (narrower than standard)
A straightener / styler

I actually recommend a thicker curling iron, but you take what you have and since mine is narrow, I took very thick loops instead. Otherwise there will be small corkscrews :)

Here's what I did:

Divide the hair and start curling the under hair.
Spin a large loop around the tongs, quite sloppy, I did not brush my hair before either.
Just hold for a short while, so it does not get too attracted.
Do the same throughout the hair.
The result was not very nice:
Therefore, take a pair of pliers and pull a little on the loops closest to the face (to make the lids softer against the face)
Flatten the tops of some loops as well. For a slightly more mischievous look.
When the curls cooled (not when they are hot) so spray lots of dry shampoo and texture spray on the scalp. Ruffle up properly with your fingers. Headbanga.
Pull your fingers through your hair for even softer curls.

Clear! Perfect complement to your party makeup!

One last tip: Do not check with a rear view mirror. I skipped it and was happily unaware of what it looked like in the back. Maybe it was really nice! Maybe disaster. Nobody knows :)

Party makeup - tips for beginners:

Make a smoky eyeliner with a wing instead of a sharp one. It gets festive and is easier because you do not have to be steady on your hand.
You can also skip the wing completely. A regular smoky eyeliner is nice too!
Remember to buy something to attach the glitter with! Or buy a ready-made liquid glitter. Loose glitter does not adhere with just eye primers.
It does not have to be dark / rich in pigment around the whole eye. I put most of the focus closest to the eye! Then soft tones that are pretty close to my own skin tone to the fade. The make-up will then both be easier to do, and is more comfortable to wear if you are above a lot of make-up.

And if it gets crazy, you can just put glitter on the whole eye, then you conjure away all makeup mistakes but still have a crazy nice party makeup;) Glitter is always right!

Ready for 2021!

I may have finished 2020 with a crashed car in the holidays (it went well with me and Miska, less good for the car) and a car that does not start (our camper van that we build) and thus have to take a bus even though we actually own two bilar. But I was at least happy and grateful that the cars broke down just before the turn of the year - what if it had been my start in 2021!

Then you would have been satisfied :) But the year has started well, I must say!

Except when Miska called me on the bus yesterday to get chatting home - he sighs "no but what happens now then?”. Then the bus had technical problems and suddenly stopped in the middle of the road! It's like the universe does not want us on the roads at all hahaha. Two cars and a bus within a week! Isn't it pretty sick?

Aja now I certainly got on the sidelines! I who should already be in bed and falling asleep. Now I have to hurry up and wash off the makeup.

Now it's time for my annual New Year's Summary 2020! Happy new year best, wonderful, goa you !! :) ♥

It is impossible to avoid the fact that 2020 has been a special year, but despite the circumstances, it has still gone well and I choose to look back on the year with positive glasses!

Roadtrip & safari in South Africa

Miska and I celebrated 10 years together with a trip to South Africa! Before the corona spread;) You can read more about the journey in the post Safari trip in South Africa with a rental car.

But to summarize the journey, here is a text from my diary that I write every day:

"Woke up at 7 o'clock when Miska kissed me and said"do you want coffee?"I answered half-dumb"do we have such powder bags or should we go?”. So I sat up and saw a breakfast tray with coffee press and very nice cups! LUXURY! Miska opened the sliding doors so we sat in bed with a nice view. WONDERFUL ♥

We sat for a long time at the hotel breakfast in the sun, then I swam lengths in the pool and saved insects :) Ordered coffee for the sunbeds. We went out on the bridge and looked for hippos, saw no one today. Ordered room service for lunch, luxurious vegetarian burgers!

Showered in our outdoor shower and then we went on our first safari! Right when we entered the area we saw warthogs and giraffes and a giraffe baby !! Miska and I rode in a private jeep with two guides. Absolutely COOLEST I made! We went for 4 hours and saw antelopes, ostriches, large monkeys, zebras, two large rhinos and a baby rhino, wildebeest, a female lion and three small mischievous lion babies ♥ We went until it got dark and I had to borrow the guide's jacket because it was cool.

At the hotel we ate the finest dinner with lit candles and I said "this is the best day of my life"Because it has really been absolutely magical from beginning to end!"

And this is just an excerpt from the first day of the trip, it is impossible to describe how good we had it!

Spring 2020

When we were in South Africa, I heard about Corona for the first time. At the airport they tested us with a thermal camera and I did not understand anything. Miska said after a few days "maybe it's because of Corona, a virus that is spreading in China now". And I who have a fever very often (due to sore throat), it was just a stroke of luck that I did not have a fever right then! What if they took me into a room, tested me in the nose and put me in quarantine before the test result came, I would have been terrified haha!

Well, the corona came to Sweden in the end and making a living from running a beauty salon was not fun ..

Miska and I were going to Cosmoproof just a week or so after the corona arrived in Italy. We were going to go anyway, you didn't understand anything then yet. But then (of course) the fair was canceled. I was so sad! Had several appointments booked for my upcoming makeup brand. But the factories closed again and the whole project was very late!

But before it broke out completely, some fun still happened :)

Press event with Pixi and Miska was also invited because we are resellers for Pixi. What a wonderful evening! : D

Recorded podcast with Tommy from Peragenda! :) We each had a mic and kept our distance with long tables in between :)

I took more pictures Mälby Glas and Miska built a new website for them! :)

Started selling Brow Game in the salon and in the webshop!

Makeup course online!

It took time, but in the spring I worked hard to build a "make-up yourself course" online. I started already before corona because I noticed that the need exists, but it became extra fitting when there was a pandemic and I need to get more income from a distance.

Sales have gone well! You can either buy the course incl. personal feedback & advice from me, or a cheap variant where you only get the course material. It has sold about 50/50 of the two variants.

Salon job - Creative Makeup in Uppsala

I have been even less at the salon due to corona, we try to be as few in the room as possible. In addition, I (like my colleagues) have fewer customers and a lot of cancellations.

The salon is the part of my life that has been affected by the pandemic the most. Without the subsidies with reduced employer contributions in the spring and layoffs on tax deferrals in the autumn, we would have had to take out a loan to make ends meet. It looked pretty bad for a while, to be completely honest.

Before corona came, you could sometimes feel that we did not have a sufficiently "stable" salon, you always want a bigger buffer, higher income and that you never encounter problems. But what has been realized now is that when the company survived an entire pandemic, we have actually succeeded in building a stable company! :) Otherwise we would have had to clap together a long time ago.

So we should be proud of ourselves and our team who are SO good at their job! ♥

I think January and February will be tough too, but then it will probably get better from March onwards! : D Do not you think? Vaccine and spring, then the customers come back with real beauty abstinence;) It will be good !!

Missed birthday!

Miska does not like surprises so my gift to him was that I said two days before "you get to decide for yourself what we are going to do, then we take a day off together”.

He does not like to be surprised but he likes to surprise, so instead he made another surprise day me Hahaha.

I had said a period before that I have sheep abscess. We went to Kroksta Gård (which I had never heard of) and I did not know where we were going until we drove up to the gravel field. Just what I would pack and that we would spend the night.

When we arrived and looked around, I thought it was "just" a cozy place in the country, so I suddenly heard "bää, bää" and began to bounce with joy! There were sheep with lambs (!) Calves, horses, chickens and ducks and it was fantastic April weather with radiant sun and we walked around freely in the pastures and just ENJOY!

Due to the corona, we were completely alone guests at the whole place and lived in the suite with its own sauna and a fantastic bathroom with whirlpool and balcony!

Magical in every way! We enjoy life haha :)

Magical summer 2020

Summer came and we were so grateful that we live in the country, when we could keep the restrictions and still have the best summer in a long time!

I always drank my morning coffee outdoors! Here outside the hen house with happy hens that have been released in the garden :)

I have not spent much time with my nephews Meja and Mila since we lived together two years ago and I get really hot when I think of our wonderful summer together! We borrowed the neighbor's echo, had a disco in our little cottage, went on road trips, bathed and I have had laughter attacks like never before :)

We went to my best friend Frida on Gotland as well. Rided her cozy horses, rode a quad bike and had a dinner picnic at sunset by the pond.

My best friends! :) We took care of two goats, Jimmy and Gertrud, and oh what I loved them ♥ They would move to another (better) place but we had them for a month. Jimmy learned to wag his tail against our front door so that he kind of "knocked" haha and always wanted me to come out and scratch them :)

Miska and I went on many long walks and the goats got to go with ♥

There were also many shrimp sandwiches at the café in Järlåsa! :) It's a 20 minute walk from us approximately, so it turned out to be a perfect lunch break!

We went to Annika's summer cottage in Dalarna with little Mileya 1.5 years ♥ An old croft without running water. It was rainy so we drank tea, built puzzles and ate chocolate most of the time;) So cozy!

Autumn 2020

The darkness, the cold and the other corona wave came at the same time and we who live so little have actually felt quite isolated. We always take a trip abroad in the autumn / winter because we work all summer and now people have sometimes wanted to tear their hair out actually hahaha.

Financial stress, darkness and isolation are not so good for the psyche, I still have to be honest with that;)

But we still try to make the best of it. Bathe in the spa, play with little Mileya who we actually have the privilege of living with (in the house next door, we live in a cottage in Annika's garden). She turns 2 years old in January and is so gorgeous and funny now!

We have bought a camper van!

We have dreamed of a Spain house for a long time, but since it is not possible now, we decided on another variant to begin with. Build your own camper van!

We can work in it remotely and at the same time be free and live life, without flying and without a cat sitter (our cat follows and lives in the habit). We bought it in the summer but it was in the workshop until the autumn, then we could start building!

Here we have just finished insulating the floor :)

We have done this:

Isolated finished
Sat in a sunroof
Panel on all doors
Half the roof is ready
Almost the entire walls are ready
The frame for the bathroom
Bought refrigerator, water tanks (one for drain and one for fresh water), water heater, sink, one for ceiling fan, diesel heater, mattress & bedding and some stuff for electricity and drain that I do not know what it is for anything haha.

At the time of writing, we have taken a short break from construction. It is difficult to build now that it is cold, dark and wet all the time, because we do not have a garage.

But this is what it looks like right now! :)

Lots of work with an upcoming makeup brand!

What I work with the most and always have in my mind is what I can hardly write anything about. Everything is confidential.

But you already know that at the beginning of 2020 I started the work of starting a completely new make-up brand. I have a specific idea for several years now that will finally get rid of!

However, it takes time, partly because things like this take time but also because the corona created delays :)

A few weeks ago, Emma Filipsson became a partner in the company!

Emma has a kandidate degree and a master's degree in entrepreneurship and business development. She has been key account manager at Maria Nila and developed and expanded beauty brands in Europe.

We do not know each other since before but have found each other when I was looking for a business partner with the right skills for this.

However, I remember that we met at an event a few years ago, when she was still studying and when she told me about her education, I said "what fun then is it you I will work with when I start my own make-up brand then“A little fun. What if I knew it would happen! :)

We have trademarked our name;) Are you curious about what the brand should be called?

But most of all I have sat in video meetings! It's kind of routine now :)

Wish I could tell you more! There is so much to say! You will know enough time.

Mid 2021

I wish I could say "a house in Spain" but it is probably rather a goal for 2022-2023;) but should I be hopeful I would say like this:

Better personal finances. I have no high demands here but corona has been tough on the private wallet. It's not fun when the savings account only decreases, there it should increase! :)
I'm going to learn to juggle 3 balls!
It will be sick a lot of work with the makeup brand, but it will be fun !!
We will finish building our camper van. The dream would be a trip to Gotland and one to Finland in the spring. Then a little Sweden holiday in the summer and camping by the pond in Gimo and spending time with my nephews who live there. Do you dare to hope for a European trip in the autumn? ;) I want to live van life in Tarifa ♥

And so maybe before 2022 we are testing a long-term rent for a house in Spain for the first time? It is not so expensive if you live a little off, like a regular rent in Sweden.

We'll see, I'm hopeful! :)

I really feel that 2021 will be good! Now it's one last dog year before I start to get a return on everything I have learned and built up so far. And in 2023, when I turn 30, I will have a secure life with a distance job, a cozy house in the mountains and a buffer! Ready for future societal disasters hahaha.

And so it will be! Or what do you think? ;)

Of course there is much more to add but I do not want to nag holes in your head!

Now I end 2020 with a warm feeling of the positive memories - and have full focus going forward. It will be fun! :)

LashLift - All about Lash Lift (8 Questions & Answers + Review)

Lashlift, Lash Lift, eyelash permanent, eyelash lift, eyelash lift, eyelash lift or eyelash permanent, dear children have many names. In this great guide, I go through everything on the subject!

Lash lift or eyelash permanent is as it sounds a permanent for the eyelashes, you bend to them with the help of coils. We have been performing this treatment at the salon for almost 10 years and I get many questions about this. Therefore, I thought I would go through everything about lash lift in this post!

What is a lash lift?

A lash lift is a permanent bending of the lashes, also called permanent eyelash. In the same way that you can permanent hair, you can also permanent lashes.

Some do lash lift to avoid mascara, others do it to get properly curled lashes that stay curled all day. Namely, it can be difficult to achieve with just eyelash curlers and mascara if you have straight, straight eyelashes.

Some also do it to increase the length of the lashes. If you have short eyelashes that are difficult to bend with forceps, they are experienced so much longer if you get another proper bend / lift!

What is permanent eyelash extensions?

Exactly the same as the lash lift! But lash lift is a newer word :)

I have worked with salon treatments for so long that I can use the expression "in the old days" haha. Then the lash lift was called eyelash permanent. A not entirely unusual question then was "what permanent, will the eyelashes be curly then?".

Of course not :) Permanent is simply that you reshape the hair. In the hair, it becomes curly because you roll it on spools, while the lashes get a lift upwards because you glue them upwards (and not on a roll).

Many who perform the treatment trained when the trend came around 2017-2018. I myself did this treatment for the first time in 2013. Then, however, eyelashes beganextension (that you glue fake lashes) become trendy and thus eyelash permanent did not really take off. But in 2017, many people started getting tired of eyelash extensions, it started to be written more and more about eyelash permanent instead. Then with the new name "lash lift" and in the spring of 2018, the booking system exploded with lash lift treatments!

Since then, lash lift is our most popular treatment :)

How long does the lashlift last?

Because it is a permanent bending of the lashes, the lash lift lasts as long as your own lashes. The permanent thus grows away and when you lose the fringe, the permanent disappears.

How long it lasts can vary from different people's fringe cycle and french quality, usually you have a fringe cycle of about 8-12 weeks. Because you do not replace all lashes at the same time, but you lose a few from time to time, the lashlift lasts approx. 4-8 weeks.

However, most dyes in connection with the treatment and the lash color last for up to 6 weeks.

Our regular customers who do lash lifts regularly dye their lashes every 5 weeks and do lash lifts every other time (ie every 10 weeks).

In the picture below you see my lashes a month after treatment, then they still look very good! :)

How do you make a lashlift last longer?

To make the lash lift last as long as possible, it is good to take care of the lashes. This can be done with a leave-in conditioner that you brush on the fringe before going to bed.

It is also important not to wear on the lashes. Do not rub in the eyes! Wash off any make-up carefully, preferably with a remover that dissolves effectively. Also think about how you sleep, as some lie a lot with their face down towards the pillow so it can wear on the lashes, which means that you lose the lash lift faster. There are e.g. eye masks / sleeping masks that are shaped like small cups, it protects the lashes when you sleep :)

Even eating and feeling good gives good hair quality. If you eat badly or feel bad and stress, it also affects the hair.

Can you do a lash lift at home?

It is possible to do a lash lift at home as well as it is possible to do it at a salon. However, it can be very difficult to do on your own and you probably need help. Then it probably takes much longer and may not be as good as someone who works with it and makes several new ones a day.

With that said, if you are eager to try making a lash lift at home, there are several kits to buy with instructions. However, I can not recommend anything because what we use at the salon is not of the same brand. Further down I have done how it works, where you can see how you can do lashlift at home step by step.

A quick search on google for a lash lift kit and you will probably find something that fits. A good tip is to read reviews! :)

Is lash lift dangerous or harmful and are there any side effects?

We have done thousands of lash lifts at the salon and have several hundred returning customers who come regularly and have done this for several years. The treatment itself we have performed for almost 10 years and not even a handful have received a mild reaction. If you are more sensitive to certain substances, we always recommend doing a rubbing test before doing the treatment for the first time.

If you carry out the treatment correctly, it is neither dangerous nor harmful and we have not noticed any side effects.

On the other hand, if you do it at home or are careless, it can of course increase the risks when you work close to the eye and may not think about hygiene. It is important to use disinfected tools and disposable materials! So be careful about making a too cheap lash lift, the practitioner does not charge enough so he has to save it somewhere and it can be in time or in materials.

Lash quality also plays a role, if you have too long an effect time, you can risk damaging the lashes (however, this is not permanent damage because the lashes are replaced). There is thus no "universal" effective time but depends on the quality of your lashes. After years of experience, you learn to adapt the time to the customer's lashes.

Can you save a failed lash lift?

If you have done a failed lashlift either through a faulty spool or too high a working time, there are some things you can do. I've made a whole post about what you can read here -> Save failed eyelash permanent.

Some therapists call this "relaxation on the lash lift", a way to make the lash lift straight again. But you may not want to make it completely straight, but still have a nice bend, that's what I have shown in the linked post.

Can you wear lenses when doing a laser lift?

It is possible to wear lenses when performing the treatment, however, we recommend removing them when working close to the eye. It gets a lot of rubbing, especially if you dye the lashes afterwards.

Not because it happens often, but it has happened that customers have accidentally opened their eyes during lash coloring and that the lens has then become discolored.

How to do lash lift? (gradually)

You start by cleaning the lashes and eyelids on dirt, makeup & mascara.
After that, a coil is selected depending on what the customer's wishes and conditions are, ie. short or long lashes, more bend or less bend. There are many lash lift coils to choose from.
The coil is applied as close to the French edge as possible.
The lashes are glued to the selected spool with the help of a lash glue.
When the lashes are in position, the first liquid that opens up the hair is applied. The duration of action may differ depending on French quality but approx. 5-15 minutes.
After it has worked clearly, it is wiped off and another liquid is applied which then closes the hair and makes the fringe "get stuck" in the bent position. The duration of action may differ depending on French quality but approx. 5-15 minutes.
When the closing liquid has worked clearly, wipe it off and then dissolve the glue that has stuck to the lashes on the spool and clean the area.
If you want to color the lashes as well, this is done immediately after the treatment, because if you do it before, the permanent liquids can dissolve the color in the lashes.
We always finish with a caring conditioner that is applied to the lashes at the end of the treatment.

It is recommended to let the lashes rest for at least 24 hours after the treatment and not expose them to water, cleaning, rubbing or similar stress.

What does it cost and where can I do the lash lift?

The price of lashlift varies depending on which salon you choose. Below I have listed prices for lash lift in a few different cities in Sweden.

The prices for a lash lift in Stockholm are around SEK 1,000 and vary depending on the salon and practitioner.

I have not been to Gothenburg and done lashlift so I can not recommend any specific salon in Gothenburg that does lashlift. My lashlift review

Had I not done so much step-by-step make-up in the blog, I would have had the lash lift evenly! But when the lashes are up, they are in the way when I have to show how I apply different eye shadows. It's going a little crazy :)

That's why I usually do a lash lift when I have a holiday! Oh how luxurious it feels then!

In addition, I have tattooed black lashliner (eyeliner light) and light inliner (along the waterline) as well, so when I do the lash lift, my eyes are so beautiful, so beautiful!

Here I have no eye makeup at all! Only base and lips.

If I put on make-up, I usually apply a caring styling gel for the lashes, it becomes like a transparent mascara. Partly to give them a little shine but also to get rid of powder residues and things that end up on the lashes when I put on make-up.

There are also a few different brands for lashlifts, including LVL lashes and Yumi lashes. They may differ slightly but are largely the same treatment.

Ariana Grande Makeup Tutorial (Step by Step)

Today's makeup is nothing less than an Ariana Grande Makeup Tutorial! I show this makeup step by step both for the base and for the eyes.

She puts on make-up so beautifully, I think, she is good at emphasizing both her facial features and her eyes at the same time as it is a "comfortable" make-up. A neutral make-up that is easy to wear and feel comfortable in simply :)

Which products should you use?

As with most people, you do not always have exactly the same make-up, it can vary a lot. But a common thread when it comes to Ariana Grande are these makeup details:

Clear contouring
Fairly straight shape on the eyebrows - and clearly filled
Cat eye shape on the eye shadow
Eyeliner with wing
Very dark closest to the eye, but otherwise a fairly soft and gentle eye makeup in earthy tones. That's why I chose the eyeshadow palette glo Skin Beauty Eyeshadow Quartet (Bon Voyage) which is a perfect palette for neutral but still "extra nice" shadows.
A neutral lip color similar to your own skin tone (so I myself chose a fairly light shade).
A tight and high tassel / ponytail with a loop around the tassel so that it is not visible. As well as flattened hair.

Sometimes she coats dark red and burgundy lips as well, which both go crazy nicely with this makeup! Fun to vary :)

Contouring as Ariana Grande

Before I took the picture, I put primer and mineral foundation all over my face.

glo Skin Beauty Pressed Base Foundation (Golden medium)

I have used very more contouring than usual and you know I felt so heavenly good looking afterwards, haha! I think it looks a little crazy when you just do the base and contour, but then when you get on blush, eyebrows, lips and eyes as well, it gets really nice.

In some pictures, Ariana Grande has an incredible amount of contouring, partly because that trend has hit bigger in the US and in addition, it was a hyped makeup trend about 3-4 years ago. Then many public figures began to cream properly! So in older photos of Ariana Grande, she has even more contouring.

The contouring palette I use is Contouring Palette (no.2) with both dark and light shadows. Super good!

The brush I use here is Nanshy Blush Brush, men Nanshy Contour Creator is better if you are a beginner.

The light shadow from the palette I put extra much on the cheekbones and also a little sharp under the eye. At the same angle as the lower lash line and obliquely outwards.

This highlights the cat eye eyes even later when I apply eye shadow and eyeliner! A trick you see quite clearly when you look at pictures of Ariana Grande.

This brush is actually a foundation brush, Nanshy Foundation Brush, but it is good for a lot! I have been using my type every day for 7 years now. Affordable and really good brushes!

Rouge

With the same blush brush, I apply the blush! A little higher up than the dark contour, but not so high that you darken the light highlighter.

The tone is a warm peach pink color, Paese Powder Blush in shade 55.

Ariana grande also has more brown and beige tones on her cheeks, but I feel nicer if I get a little color :)

Ariana Grande - eyebrows

The brow shape that Ariana Grande has is quite straight, but the simplest (and often nicest) is to still start from your natural shape and only make minor adjustments. Instead of trying to completely mimic someone else's eyebrows. Everyone's straws grow so different!

I made my eyebrows a little straighter at the bottom by first drawing a line with the eyebrow pencil along the entire underside.

Then I filled in the inner edge and the top edge and finished with brim. Quite clearly filled but still with a soft inner edge and top edge, so as not to get too "painted" impression. Ariana Grande often makes her eyebrows quite sharp.

Here you see a widely used eyebrow pencil! :) Wow what I like this! Comes from the organic makeup brand Benecos. I have Benecos Eyebrow Designer in the shade Brown in this post. As well as finished with Refectocil Styling Gel.

Eye makeup step by step

As I said, it is mostly cat eye, eyeliner with wing and earthy tones that characterize Ariana Grande's eye makeup.

All eyeshadows are from the palette glo Skin Beauty Eyeshadow Quartet (Bon Voyage).

Eye primer, Pixi Eye Bright Primer
Light eye shadow in the corner of the eye
Light brown eye shadow in the middle of the eyelid and up in the crease line
I have applied with the brush Nanshy Tapered Crease Brush.
Dark brown eye shadow at the end of the eyelid
Fade out with the light brown shade and make a cat eye shape with it.
Light brown eye shadow along the lower lash line, applied with the smaller one Nanshy Pencil Brush.
Dark brown eye shadow at the end of the lower lash line and as a "spike" in the corner of the eye for even more cat eye effect, applied with Nanshy Angled Detailer.
Light eye shadow during fading for a slightly sharper and clearer edge. The same brush I used for the face.
Black eyeliner with wing, made with eye shadow & fixing mist, Paese Kashmir Eyeshadow (shade 602) & Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist. Applied with Nanshy Lip Pencil.
Mascara on all lashes, Santhilea Magnetic Lash Mascara.

Clear! Ariana Grande-eyes CHECK! :)

My waterline is tattooed light. So for exactly the same eyes, you can supplement with glo Skin Beauty Eye Pencil (Peach) too.

I actually felt very nice in this make-up, then I must admit. Well made and highlights both the face and eyes nicely, while being quite neutral and soft. Me like!

Dry lips - 8 tips for prevention & treatment (Guide)

Dry lips are common, especially in winter when the air becomes much drier. However, it is possible to prevent and treat without being addicted to lypsyl!

It is not particularly fun to have sore dry lips that crack or to be dependent on lip balm or other lip surgery that aggravates the problem. Further down, I have also written about lypsyl addiction.

The reason for having dry lips can be different and can be due to several reasons. So in this post I was going to go through the most common causes and what can be done to counteract problems with dry lips.

Why do you get dry lips?

Unlike other skin, the lips are very thin and more sensitive, which makes them more noticeable to external influences. Dry lips often depend on weather & humidity, e.g. dry cold air or sun can dry up the lips and cause them to crack.

Especially now in winter, it is extra common because cold air can not carry water vapor in the same way as warm air does. This also affects the indoor climate and causes very dry air in the winter.

It is important to moisturize dry lips with the right products so as not to aggravate the problem, if you go with it for too long, it will eventually be sore dry lips with cracking.

Some lip serums such as lypsyl can also aggravate the problem and have a counteracting effect. So even if they provide relief for the moment, there is a risk that the lips become more sensitive in the long run.

8 Best Tips for Preventing & Treating Dry Lips

Use good products that moisturize and protect the lips.

It is important to use products that moisturize the lips while protecting them. As I mentioned earlier, certain ingredients can make the lips more sensitive to external influences and ultimately give the opposite effect.

So think about the ingredients and feel free to use products with natural ingredients that also protect the lips, so that you do not make them extra sensitive and risk becoming addicted to lip balm.
Try different home remedies for dry lips.

There are some home remedies to try if you want to experiment yourself or if you have dry lips and have to use something you have at home.

It can e.g. be coconut oil, honey, aloe vera or any oil you have at home.
Avoid licking your lips too often.

When you have dry lips and no moisturizing product to use immediately, a natural reflex can be to lick yourself around the lips to moisturize them that way.

However, this should be avoided as it can result in the lips becoming even drier. The reason is that when saliva evaporates from the lips, it also absorbs extra moisture, which means that the lips are now drier than they were before you licked them.

So to avoid a vicious spiral that results in stinging dry lips, avoid licking your lips!
Exfoliate your lips if they are too dry.

Extremely dry lips are covered with layers of dry skin, this becomes like a layer between your lip and any moisturizing products that you have on your lips.

So in order for the moisturizing products you use to have a better effect, I recommend that you exfoliate the lips carefully with e.g. sugar.
Drink water & keep your body moisturized.

Dry lips can be an effect of the body being dehydrated, if you drink too little water during the day, the effect is that you also dry out. This is especially noticeable on the lips and the lips are probably the area you notice first if you do not stay hydrated.

So drink properly with water! However, drinking water does not help for dry lips if the dryness is not due to you being dehydrated.
Use a humidifier.

As I mentioned earlier, the lips are affected by the humidity, if it is cold & dry air, the lips will also be drier. One solution is to use a humidifier. They are available in small and large varieties, expensive and cheap. But it is often enough to have a smaller one on e.g. the desk or where you work.

So if you suffer from very dry lips in the winter, a humidifier will make a big difference!
Think about what you eat, diet also affects the lips!

If you eat very salty food, the salt can carry moisture from the lips, especially snacks with salt that is on the outside and risks sticking to the lips.

Dry lips can also be a mineral or vitamin deficiency, e.g. Vitamin B deficiency can lead to dry, chapped and sore lips.

Avoid smoking.

As already known, the smoke from cigarettes is not good for the body, but also not for the skin on the lips. It can dry out the lips and lead to cracks.

If none of the above works, it could also be a sign of illness or side effects of medications. You can read more about dry mouth at 1177 (link).

Good lip balm for dry lips:

Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm is a moisturizing and protective colored lip balm, so it can be used as a lipstick for dry lips. (Available for purchase here - adlink)

If, on the other hand, you do not want color, I recommend EOS lip balm (Available at Parfym.se - adlink)

Get rid of lypsyl addiction

Some fats can make the skin more sensitive to the environment and ultimately have a counteracting effect. This is why people find it easy to become addicted to certain lip teas. They work once you use them but also make the lips much more sensitive to the dry air. This in turn means that you have to use e.g. lypsyl all the way to keep the lips moisturized.

The only thing to do is to stop using lip balm or other similar lip serums and use products that do not have this effect on the skin.

Miska was addicted to lypsyl many years ago, and he decided to simply stop abruptly and "ride through" the wave of dry lips. However, it became very difficult and he eventually bought a can of Vaseline which he used only when it was really needed. He does not remember how long it took to get rid of his lypsyl addiction but maybe 2-3 weeks, since then he has not touched lypsyl but only uses natural oils or Vaseline when it is really needed. After the lips have recovered, the problems are not as big as when you constantly lubricate them with bad products.
