The first week of the holiday is over and the company has not gone under yet haha!

Freedom as an entrepreneur
Having a holiday is nothing unusual, all employees have it for several weeks every year. As an entrepreneur, however, it is a bit more of a luxury like this at the beginning of your career. You are locked into your responsibility, I have to work more than 40 hours a week and can never drop everything to 100% but need to be a little standby at a distance even when I am free and taking 5 weeks off would definitely not work.
But I still feel more free!
I do not have to ask anyone for permission before I go on holiday, I can take a last minute trip and I set up my working hours exactly as I want. If I want to work 24 hours straight one day to be free the next day, I GET :)
And not to mention the future, I will never want to stop working but can really long for both the finances and the practicalities to be so self-sufficient that I can set up every single minute of work exactly as I want without risking anything. Fy so wonderful!

Here was the first day on the beach, so happy!
Relax on the holiday as an entrepreneur
To be free from work tasks and to be able to relax and feel Being free is two different things. How did it go for me on holiday then? I have quite easily stressed out when I see work matters and have therefore deliberately turned off a lot. I have only answered the most urgent emails and those that are quick to respond, I have turned off notifications from social media and only check in quip (our communication program at the salon) when I have time to grab things if needed, I open not the notices when I'm lying on the beach, just woke up or something like that when I'm just going to enjoy the holidays.
I have not opened the schedule once, when I would book a customer in a few weeks who emailed me, I kept the screen before I changed the date so I did not see today's bookings haha. I know that if there are a lot of bookings, I will be stressed because it is stressful at the salon when we can not help at the reception. And if, on the contrary, there are big gaps in the schedule, I will be stressed about the finances instead as I can not do anything about it from here.
Now it sounds like me is stressed on holiday, but thanks to the above "rules" for myself, I have escaped it! :) I have had a few tosses of stressful thoughts but now I have come down to business and feel that I trust the staff at the salon so much that they come up with all possible problem solutions themselves! :)

Speaking of relaxation, I offer a picture of Miska on the beach! He is as calm as a person and that is exactly what I need, when I get stressed I have the calmest person in the world to lean on and it is really worth its weight in gold. Had Miska been someone who worries and stresses, we would probably have triggered each other so much that my nerves would have broken a long time ago haha.
Move to Mexico!
Last Monday we sat at breakfast for a very long time, you can take your own thermos of coffee to the table and we emptied it completely and just sat and felt life in us haha.
I always get so inspired when I sit with Miska and talk, we have decided to live abroad in the future but not exactly which country. Now that we are in Mexico, it feels like the obvious choice, I love the atmosphere, nature, wildlife, the air!
And where we are going to live in the future is very much connected with entrepreneurship, it's so easy to think "I want to start this, I want to do this!" but you have to basically go back and think ”how do I want to work? ” and build a career based on it.
I want a job where I am not tied to a place, but can work a lot at a distance. Then I can live anywhere in the world! So I do not want a "winter house" where I go when I am free, but want to keep my house at home in Gimo + have a house abroad where I live and work large parts of the year, then I can live in Gimo when I am at meetings in Sweden and greets the family :)
Understand so wonderful! And financially, there are no strange things, the only thing that has to work is that you should have a job where you can work large parts remotely. For a house in Mexico costs about as much as a house in Sweden.

What I love about Mexico and our hotel is the wildlife! It is crowded with polar bears (in the picture you see a baby!) And also agoutis (an animal I have never seen before you can google if you do not know haha) and lots of nice birds and even a deer lying and sleeping outside the balcony here a day. I love animals and see in front of me that I will be a crazy nose bear lady in our future Mexico house haha!
Delegate more
Last business week, I wrote under "learning by doing" that I often spend a lot of time on jobs that are not used to the extent that it is worth the time I spend.
Speaking of which, I also came across three (!) Times the same week that I took on more jobs that I did not really need to do. So what I wrote about last week was about things that could have been skipped altogether, but another thing that I also need to get better at is taking help from others and realizing that it is not necessarily I who will perform all tasks when there are other people with gaps in the schedule and I am de-stressed.
But it's so hard to delegate things because I take on stuff without even reflecting on it.
1. We received a booking request outside opening hours and a colleague asked if it was ok if Lisa worked longer that day. I was just about to say "I'll get in touch with her and ask" when I got the answer "I can call her and ask" and yes it was much easier than that I should be an intermediary and first ask Lisa and then pass on whether she could or not before the customer could be called again :)
2. Ida asked me if we had enough receipt rolls. I picked up the pen and was going to write on my to do list to check it out and she asked "I can check it myself otherwise I just wonder if you knew right away" haha.
3. Another colleague had a question about something on the pay slip that I did not know the answer to, they receive the pay slip in an email from our finance person and my answer was "I will email her and ask" whereupon I again got the answer "although I can email yourself ”haha. Again, I had just become an intermediary, which is completely unnecessary.
All of these things are super small, but many streams are small and when there are people who have time left over. Delegating more is my new New Year's promise haha!

Did you know that there is a "rule" that says that 20% of all the work you put in contributes 80% of the result? It's like I have 6 hard working arms but only one of them that does any good. Pretty frustrating haha.
No, now I will continue my Sunday here in Mexico! Hugs are!
