Party make-up with feline eyeliner

Last Friday, I was given the honorary assignment to make up my childhood friend Linnea who was going to a 25th birthday party!

Linnea is 3 years older than me and was my beauty partner in crime when I started going from child to teenager;) She was the one who taught me to squeeze pimples when we stood and squeezed in front of grandma's bathroom mirror, and also she who shaved my armpits for the first time haha! I remember it as if it were yesterday.

And now I got the chance to take care of her a little! Here is the result:

So fine!

BASE:

Face primer - Pixi Flawless & poreless
Foundation - Pixi H2O Skintint (2 Nude)
Powders that remove redness - gloMinerals Redness Relief Powder
Contouring & highlighter - Pixi Book of beauty contour creator
Rouge - gloMinerals Blush (Papaya)
Fixing mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist
Dehydrating powders - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

We started with a face primer that is debilitating for oily skin and fills pores. After that a gel foundation that is water resistant. Then redness relief powder that removes redness and contouring and highlighter (both matte highlighter and with luster) and a rosy blush on the cheeks.

We finished with fixing mist and then degrading powder after that - I always apply the powder after the mist, otherwise the powder will absorb the mist.

Eyebrow pencil and brow gel - Pixi natural brow duo (Natural Brown)

We filled in the eyebrows with a brow pencil that is shaped like a triangle (gives a very soft filling) and brow gel with a little color. We put a little extra in the highest points to raise the eyebrows more.

EYES:

Eyeshadow Primer - Pixi eye bright primer
Eyeshadows - Paese Opal Eyeshadow (Colorado)
Light eyeliner along the waterline - gloMinerals Eye Pencil (Peach)
Eyeliner with wing– Kryolan HD Cream Liner (Ebony)
Mascara - Magnetic lash mascara

We made some cat eyes with light inside and darker outside, and a sharp eyeliner with a clear wing on it that frames the look and lifts the eyes very nicely!

Lipstick -  gloMinerals Suede Matte Crayon (Monogram)

Hug hug! ♥

Super fast everyday make-up that highlights the eyes

Today's eye makeup is a great everyday make-up that highlights the eyes and gives a more vibrant look, but is incredibly natural and discreet.

You can see which brushes I have used in the step-by-step pictures and I explain a little extra clearly under how I have applied and why. I have used a light and a brown eye shadow today, but you can also do this with your contouring shadows if you want to work with fewer products :)

Bassmink:
Foundation - Yag Mineral Foundation (Soft Latte)
Concealer - gloMinerals Under Eye Concealer (beige)
Highlighter (matt) - Paese Kashmir Eyeshadow (667)
Contouring - Paese Bronzing powder (1m)
Rouge - gloMinerals Powder blush (papaya)
Dehydrating powders - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Fountain pens - gloMinerals Micro Brow Liner (Dark Brown)
Brown fibers - Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Filler (Soft brown) (adlink)

Lips - Only tattoo / permanent makeup

The make-up is lighter in the middle of the eyelid, which makes the eyelid look a little bigger and "pops" more.

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
    - Just because you do a quick make-up, you should not skip the important step with eye shadow primer, I think. The eyelids on many of us become very oily and then both mascara and eyeliner can smudge and all the makeup accumulates in the creases on the eyelid when you blink for a few hours.
  2. Light eye shadow in the middle of the eyelid, Paese Kashmir Eyeshadow (667)
    - I have applied with Nanshy Blending Brush, it is fluffy so that the colors hardly need to be faded and you immediately get a soft result.
  3. Brown eyeshadow along the globe line, Paese Kashmir Eyeshadow (609)
  4. The same shadow at the end of the eyelid…
  5. … And on the inside of the eyelid
    - It frames the light shadow in the middle of the eyelid and gives a more "popping" effect to the eye.
  6. The same shade along the lower lash line.
    - You can skip this if you want to lift your gaze more and have all the makeup on the top of the eye, but if you put a little dark on the underside as well, the eye is enlarged more. Here I used Nanshy Pencil Brush and that is because you get good precision but at the same time not too sharp because it is rounded at the top.
  7. Black eyeliner, Paese liquid eyeliner
    - I dabbed on the eyeliner with an oblique brush, it goes much faster than if you use the included brush because then it needs to be completely sharp and straight to not look choppy. With an oblique brush, it does not become as sharp and flawless, but more diffuse, but it goes fast and it does not become choppy :)
  8. Black mascara on the upper lashes, Magnetic lash mascara
    - You can put on the lower lashes as well, but if you just put on the top, you look up more.

Hope you like this simple look and get inspired by the step by step description!

Milk_shake Direct Color - Review

Have you heard of Milk_shake Direct Color !? :) I bought my products from my hairdresser Monica at Color And The Shape in Uppsala and is in love!

Hairdressers usually never recommend home color / toning otherwise, just type silver shampoo and color packaging. But Milk_shake has a home tint that is very easy to use and that hairdressers recommend for home use.

My hair gets yellow, warm tones in my hair very quickly after a few washes after the hairdresser's visit. Since I am not very bright blonde, silver shampoo does not make as much difference as I would like, even though it of course has an effect. I have therefore been looking for some type of nuance that can be done at home between hairdresser visits and now I have finally found a great product for this! It is MAGICAL!

Milk_shake Direct Color review review

Milk_Shake Direct Color (left in the picture) is a color that you can have directly in the hair, but for toning effect you mix it with a foam (right in the picture). There is a foam that is completely transparent but I bought the one that also gives a silver effect to give even more coolness to the hair color.

And hey, I'm so happy with the result! Several at work have also seen a difference and asked if I dyed my hair :)

Milk_shake Direct Color powder

Look what a difference!

What is Milk_shake Conditioning Direct Color?

Milk_Shake Direct Color (adlink) is a home toning that is available in different shades, both colors with a lot of pigment (if you want pink hair, for example) and ones like the one I have that become more like a neutralization.

Nuance Powder - I have used the best-selling shade Powder which has a purple / pink powdery tone. It effectively removes yellow tones and gives a faint rose color to the hair. I have also tried Beige Blond which is a little milder and a little more pink beige than purple pink as Powder is, it is also good but I prefer Powder a little more as it gives more effect.

The fact that the color attracts rose purple and not just blue (as many ziver products do) is because pink also neutralizes green. If you have a strong yellow tone, it can get a little greenish if you just apply blue.

Formula - The cream is a bit like a colored gel in texture and very easy to distribute in the hair. It is moisturizing but NOTE contains silicones which is the only negative, I prefer not to have silicones in my hair…

What is Milk_shake Silver Shine Whipped Cream?

Milk_Shake Silver Shine Whipped Cream (adlink) is a caring and coloring foam with a silver tone. You can either mix with Direct Color, or use as a leave-in product after the shower for an even cooler effect on the hair color.

The shade - Neutralizes yellow and warm tones and gives the hair a cooler tone. There is also a foam that is colorless (it is cheaper too) that you can use for the other colors if you do not want a cooler tone in your hair.

Formula - A very creamy foam that is incredibly easy to distribute throughout the hair. Contains milk proteins and blueberry extracts that have a softening effect on the hair. Contains silicones just like the above product. Gets very smooth in the hair!

Milk_shake Direct Color usage
I made my first mix in a beautiful drinking glass, just for fun hihi! Fint va?

How to use Milk_Shake Direct Color?

Here's how to do it:

  1. Wash your hair and do this toning as the last step in the shower.
  2. Towel dry your hair
  3. Mix Direct Color with the Whipped Cream foam in a small bowl. The more color / less foam you use, the more effect the coloring gives, but what is recommended is about 5 ml of paint and a click of foam that is about the size of a tennis ball.
    - However, I mix directly in the hand (except for the first time when I had in the glass above hehe) and I think it works just as well, so you do not have to work with the counter.
  4. Wear gloves if you use one of the stronger colors, I have not had it for the Powder shade though and it did not attach anything to the hands.
  5. Distribute evenly in the hair and leave for 5 to 30 minutes, depending on how much effect is desired.
  6. Rinse your hair thoroughly

Clear!

This is how nice the result was then:

Milk_shake Direct Color before and after

How long does Milk_Shake Direct Color last?

The paint lasts 8-10 washes depending on what color you have and how long you have left it in pain. For me who fills up on every wash without rinsing out, it takes a long time to wash off completely, but it disappears a bit every wash anyway.

However, one should always be aware of all color packaging and the like can put hard on the hair, and if you then bleach on the pigments that remain, it can be any color. So there are no guarantees. I've talked a lot with my hairdresser Monica about this.

So if you are going to try to have bright purple in your blonde hair, be a little careful because it is not 100 that the pigments disappear completely even though it is on the packaging.

Now I do not remember the prices exactly in the head but 169: - I think Direct Color cost and 289: - cost the silver foam. So type 450: - for both. And the foam that does not have a silver effect probably also costs SEK 169 if I remember correctly, so it is much cheaper. Prices online may differ.

get rid of yellow hair

It turned out more in the rosé direction than I had expected, I thought it would be more silver cold and possibly go in the lavender purple direction if reached - because that's what the color itself looks like when you mix.

But I have some red-pink pigments in my hair from previous dyes, so it fits super well and it's crazy nice! :)

Here's what I do now:

Update! I wrote this in the post 3 years later :)

I have become totally addicted and at the time of writing have been using these products for 3.5 years now. They are so good!

I no longer use the Direct Color cream as a coloring, but mix a small click in my conditioner and use it as a leave-in cream when I finish the hair wash. So I stay in the shower and have it as a last step, but diluted with conditioner and without rinsing.

When I now use it as a leave-in, I only get a nice cold tone, it usually does not draw so much to pink but more just cold. I do this about every other hair wash, it lasts longer but then I always have a perfect tone.

I use the mousse from time to time when I want a cooler tone.

In my blog post Take care of permanent hair can you see how the shade becomes on my hair when it was lighter bleached. Have used a lot of Milk_Shake then as well.

And in my blog post Rainbow Makeup Tutorial can you see my hair color with a little darker blonde tone and where I used a little less Milk_Shake. More natural but still a nice tone! My hair quickly turns yellow otherwise.

get rid of green hair

Love the balayage and all the shifts in the hair, the whole hairstyle becomes more alive :)

Summary - Good home toning to effectively freshen up the hair color without having to go to the hairdresser's cliff in the block. Big minus that it contains silicone I think, but in addition it gets two big thumbs up!

The result is nice, even and they are very easy to use. You can also vary if you want a lot or a little effect by adjusting the amount of color and foam. The hair feels soft and smooth afterwards. Above all, it gives a lot of effect which I love!

Have any of you tested Milk_shake's products? What do you think?

Swedish Beauty & Cosmetics Awards 2017

0

As I wrote in the post with yesterday's make-up so I was at the Swedish Beauty & Cosmetics Awards yesterday and it was so successful!

The gala was in the Blue Hall at City Hall (same as the Nobel party!) And Daniel Paris and Jessica Almenäs were presenters. We were invited to a 3-course dinner and the atmosphere was really on top all evening! Beauty Awards is a bit like the beauty industry's Oscars, but with nominated products instead of actors. You can see all nominations and winners Beautyawards.nu :)

My last train to Uppsala left at 00.09 (the gala started at 19.30 so it's really long!) So I unfortunately had to slip away before all the prizes were awarded. But no sour faces when you got your goodie bag on the way out! So it was really huge! I got lactic acid in my arms after only 10 meters, which in itself does not say much with my small non-existent muscles;) but still. It's going to be so much fun going through it this weekend!

I did not bring a camera with me because it is still so difficult to take good pictures in such dark environments, I think. But I found some pictures on Facebook! At Greenpix on FB you can see pictures from the gala and all the nice people :)

And on my Insta Story there are lots of movies from the evening that you can watch for a few more hours! Among other things, a film from when Linda's hat blew into the water and a diver bubbled up next to it and fished it up hahaha! You can see all the movies on my instagram @ imakeyousmile.se.

Half past two I went to bed last night, then got up and worked after a few hours of sleep. Feels a little tender but soon I will do a party make-up on a childhood friend, then record a film about how a ucw treatment goes at the salon, and after that Annika invites to dinner because she has name day today! So little coffee and Celsius on it, I'm on top again;)

Hugs are! ♥

Gold glitter make-up (Step by step)

This post is timed and I am right now (when this is published) at the Swedish Beauty & Cosmetics Awards 2017, woop woop! :)

I'll meet up Elin Fagerberg and Linda Hallberg for a glass of wine before and then we go there together. Gonna be so nice! I'm going to the gala for the 4th year in a row and it's always so luxurious with 3-course meals, entertainment and above all focus on what I love most - beauty products ♥ And this year it's also 10 years anniversary and we will be at City Hall in Stockholm so it will probably be extra grand this year, I suspect.

Keep an eye on my Insta Story (@helenaamiley), where I will post a lot during the evening :)

Today's make - up is kind of the fastest gala make - up I have ever done haha! Due to unplanned events this morning, time rushed away and I finally had only 50 minutes to get ready, which is not a very short time but if you take all the make-up pictures, get dressed, pack your things and then run to the bus … Then it's a short time, to be before a gala hehe.

But it went well anyway! Not completely flawless but no one should look so closely;)

Bassmink:
Foundation - Yag Mineral Foundation (Soft Latte)
Concealer - gloMinerals Under Eye Concealer (beige)
Highlighter (matt) - Paese Kashmir Eyeshadow (667)
Contouring - Paese Bronzing powder (1m)
Rouge - gloMinerals Powder blush (papaya)
Dehydrating powders - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Fountain pens - gloMinerals Micro Brow Liner (Dark Brown)
Brown fibers - Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Filler (Soft brown) (adlink)

Lip pencil - Yves Rocher Automatic Lip Liner (adlink) at the edges and fade towards the lip
Colored lip balm on the entire lips - Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm (Rike Raspberry)

Love the combo with the lip balm together with the lip liner, because it will be nice, comfortable and durable and very easy to improve. The lip balm pigmentes the lips a little so you always have a little color even when the cream has disappeared, and the lip pencil in the contours is like a slap. So a little lip balm in the middle of the lips when refilling is only needed, then it's done :)

Photographed the picture in a bit out of focus so that you can see the glitter better, nice huh?

The glittery eye shadow is actually not an eye shadow but the new nail glitter IsaDora Chrome Nail Powder in shade 10 Mirror Silver. What you put on the nail to give a metallic effect you know? :) It works really well! The glitter climbs up a little when you blink for a few hours, however, but do not think it does anything - but can be good to know. On top of that, it sits like a charm, had a little extra sticky eyeshadow primer under just.

  1. Eyeshadow primer, NYX HD Eyeshadow Base (adlink)
Glitter on the entire eyelid, IsaDora Chrome Nail Powder (10 Mirror Silver)
  2. Brown eyeshadow along the globe line, Paese Kashmir eyeshadow (604)
  3. Fade the edges upwards
  4. Black eyeliner with wing, Paese Liquid Eyeliner
  5. Black eyeshadow at the end of the eyelid, slightly along the crease and at the bottom of the lower lash line, Paese Kashmir eyeshadow (602)
White eye shadow in the corner of the eye, Paese Kashmir eyeshadow (601)
  6. Black mascara on all lashes, Magnetic Lash Mascara

Clear!

The hair is still unfixed in the pictures but I now have curly with crooked legs and all the hair on one side (a little messy-style) and a small baked-in braid on the other side. Really nice! You can see pictures on my Insta Story! Ämma fixed my hair when I came to work - perfect with my own hair stylists;) Ämma has an internship with us all spring and is in her final year of high school (makeup & stylist) and is extremely good! She is like a finished makeup artist already in my opinion, so impressed and feels very nice hihi.

Hope you like the look!

Hug ♥
