Nails of the Week - Lake Blue

I have had light nails for several weeks now, I quite rarely use dark nail polish because I think light is much more fun and fresher, on myself then :)

But now I wanted some variety and changed to the dark nail polish Lumene Gel Effect in the shade Lake Blue, and I ääää love it!

I have several of Lumene's Gel Effect varnishes at home, but I have probably not tested this particular shade because I have gone all in on their lighter colors instead. But when I and Caroline talked about these on the train on Tuesday, I got the urge to bring them out again and try a different shade - and I absolutely do not regret it! :)

The shade Lake Blue is a blue shade that goes in the dark denim blue direction. In some lights it looks more clear blue but usually it is a softer gray-blue shade.

Super nice! Do you agree? :)

Dr. Hauschka Mascara

I got such a lovely picture of Ronja the other day, she has shopped Dr. Hauschka's mascara from Byher.se and wrote "The mascara is superb, love it !!!" :) and I understand her because it is great and looked incredibly good on her lashes!

Dr. Hauscka mascara is a great everyday mascara when you want separated, natural and fine eyelashes, without the risk of lumps or glued together lashes! It is quick to apply, and in addition it is organic, which is great when it is a product that you use every day.

The mascara contains, among other things, jojoba oil, rose wax, eye comfort (flower), black tea and neem, which together soothe and care for both the eyelashes and the skin around the eyes.

Must show the pictures I got of Ronja!

Nice huh ?? :)

Available in three colors, black, navy blue and brown. Ronja has the black, but if you want an even more everyday result, brown is great, and if you want a slightly more fun color instead, the navy blue is great! It is blue in a dark and discreet way :)

The mascara costs SEK 189 and is available for purchase here!

Different mascara brushes

I was going to publish a "favorite in replay posts" that I wrote a little more than a year ago, which I remember was very much appreciated then :)

It's about different kinds of mascara brushes! Because it is very often I get questions about just this, which brush is best and "which one fits my lashes?". And this can not be answered exactly as it 1. depends on what your own lashes look like and 2. what you want for results, separation / volume / length etc.

Can also recommend my big mascara test: Mascara best in test - Best Mascara

There are thousands of different mascaras, the "mascara cream" itself has different kinds of formula, but what makes the biggest difference in the result in terms of appearance is usually the mascara brush!

Therefore, I thought I would now have a little basic overview of what the different mascara brushes have for effects and which eyelashes they are best suited for :)

Different mascara brushes

I have googled a few different pictures and made my own little clip with different shapes that I was going to talk about.

There are many more brushes than these, and in addition the variants can be combined with each other, but now you will hopefully understand what basic properties you should look for!

1. "Classic" straight mascara brush - All lashes
The classic mascara brush is a good brush if you are unsure which one to have. It is namely easy to use and fits most eyelashes as it both reaches the shorter lashes and gives length and volume. It is completely straight, or almost completely straight (many are a little narrower at the top) and gives a fair amount of mascara.

2. Curved mascara brush - Straight lashes
The curved mascara brush is for bending the eyelashes and fits them with very straight eyelashes. I can also recommend a waterproof mascara if you have straight lashes, it has a lighter formula and makes the lashes stay curled all day.

If you already have very curved lashes, however, you can get too curved with this shape, and then you can easily get mascara dots on the eyelid.

Thick mascara brush - Long lashes
A thick mascara brush gives a lot of volume to the eyelashes, and since it gets a lot of mascara cream, it is great if you want an intense and "dramatic" look. However, it does not work very well for short, straight and thin eyelashes, as it easily weighs them down, you should have quite long and thick eyelashes already.

In addition, it can be difficult and you have small eyes, because it gets so big compared to the eye.

4. Rubber brush - All lashes
Rubber brushes are what usually fit my lashes best. They separate well because the spikes are a little harder and more "determined" than soft straws. But since the rubber is quite soft and flexible, you still get volume and length. It is rare to get mascara lumps with a good rubber brush because it combs the lashes well.

A rubber brush fits all lashes a bit depending on the size, a thick rubber brush is better for long lashes while a narrow one is better for short ones.

5. Tapered brush - Short eyelashes
If you have short eyelashes, most people want length and volume so that they do not look so short, at the same time as you need a brush that when all short straws. Then a tapered shape is perfect, ie thicker at the edge and narrower at the top. Then you reach all the straws, even closest to the corner of the eye, while the slightly thicker outer part gives more length and volume.

6. Comb brush - Short & thin eyelashes
A flat comb brush made of plastic is good if you want to separate the eyelashes, it gives a very natural result if you just apply a quick layer, but you can also work out more length if you work more with the mascara. A comb brush with spikes that sit very tightly gives more length and volume. Personally, however, I am not so much for comb brushes, at least have not tested one that I think is good.

Hope the tips were helpful! :)

These brushes can also be varied, there are rubber brushes that are thick, comb brushes that are curved and thick brushes that are cone-shaped, but you have to combine the required properties and then test yourself.

Joico Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo

I have used almost half a bottle of dry shampoo Joico Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo and now thought to share with me my review :)

Use
The spray has a pretty strong pressure and I like that, you clearly know exactly where you spray! However, I think the spray is wet a little too long, you have to wait a while before you can massage with your fingers on the scalp, and I think it's a little strange because it says in the description that it is quick-drying, and I have not had this problem with some other dry shampoo that I have tested.

Fragrance
The scent is really fresh and good without being strong, great!

Results
The dry shampoo mattifies effectively, and otherwise you can barely feel the product in your hair. The best result you get from using it a little every day, because if you have had time to get dirty hair, you need quite a lot of spray for it to help. But even then the hair does not feel rough, you can still pull your fingers to the scalp!

Also works to have in the lengths if you need it for various reasons. I sometimes need a little in the loops closest to the face, because because I have so oily skin, sometimes the face can get dirty on the hair haha.

Appearance
I personally like dry shampoo that also gives volume, so this is not a personal favorite, but to just matte the oily scalp, it is very good :) And the hair does not turn gray at all despite dark scalp, so you can use it regardless of hair color!

Summary - A good product that I can recommend to you who want an effective but light dry shampoo, which does not give a rough or dirty feeling on the scalp!

The dry shampoo costs SEK 229 Lyko.se which I actually think is worth it if you are looking for a good dry shampoo that makes your hair feel as freshly washed as possible!

Any of you who have tested this? What did you think? :)

Makeup of the day - Vert de cobalt

Today I have used a lot of new!

I got home a package from Yves Rocher yesterday so most of the makeup I have used in today's makeup is from that brand, but not only that, this is also my first makeup with my new camera!

Actually, I bought a new camera just so that I, hear and be amazed, will once again give myself over to this with filming makeup videos :) My old camera does not have auto-focus so it has not been possible to do with it. But now so!

I have also planned to take all make-up pictures with this new one as it has a reversible screen, which is super nice when you take portraits of yourself. Do you see any difference in the pictures? Positive or negative? :)

A slightly sooty green make-up that gives an intense look! Stylish and summery party make-up :)

The lips are Yves Rocher Moisturizing Cream Lipstick in shade 41.Orangé Hibiscus.

And what I have used for the eyes is Yves Rocher 100% Intense Kajal which is Limited Edition news, and I have the green and the black shade!

I will review these in a more detailed post shortly :)

1. Green make-up pen smoked around the whole eye, Yves Rocher 100% Intense Kajal (Vert de cobalt)
2. Black make-up pen along the waterline and smoked around the lash lines, Yves Rocher 100% Intense Kajal (Black)
3. Bright glitter In the corner of the eye, Yves Rocher Loose Pearls (05.Nacres Cristal)
4. Black mascara on all lashes, Paese Adore 3D Lash Mascara

I think they are a bit cold pictures, but can not decide if it is good or bad haha. It differs a bit from computer screen to computer screen as well, so what do you experience?

I currently have a collaboration with Yvesrocher.se, please enter the discount code YRHELENA at checkout you get both 20% discount on the entire purchase and Loose Pearls in shade 05 completely free! It's the one I have in the corner of my eye on this make-up :)
