Make up the lips bigger

Hi on are fine nine!

I was going to show you how I do when I make my lips a little bigger, which I do sometimes. Maybe this is good info for you who intend to have colorful lips on New Year's Eve? :)

Actually, this tip would have been even more fun to show before I tattooed my lips, because I have already enlarged them a bit by tattooing outside the shape. So you can have it in the back of your mind, that I have actually put on a lot more make-up outside the natural shape than you see, and it still does not look strange!

Beautiful, plump lips!

Before, completely unmade up.

Fill in the lip shape with a lip pencil, and paint a little outside the contours.

But do not paint outside the contours around the entire lip, because it is then easy for an unnatural clown mouth, but paint outside mostly on the sides and up at the cupid's arch so that you get a round and soft shape.

Finish with lip gloss, either in the same color or transparent. The gloss reflects light and means that you do not see as clearly where your real lip contour goes.

The lip pen I have used is Golden Rose Lip Liner, the red shade is sold out but it is available in a lighter "pink".

The red lip gloss I have used is Paese Manifesto Liquid Lipstick in shade 906, SEK 79 at Byher.se!

Here you can clearly see how much I have painted outside. I have marked with dots where I have enlarged. In the middle and in the mouth pores I have not painted outside at all, and most I have enlarged on the sides of the upper lip!

Hope this post was helpful :)

Royal Apothic Tinties Lip Butter

In the nice velvet red Glossybox that I wrote about in this post, I got a super sweet lip balm from Royal Apothic that I thought I would show you a little closer today!

Unfortunately, I can not find any retailer in Sweden that sells it, except Glossybox then, but there is a webshop in London that sells it, look in there and test order to Sweden if you are hungry. Maybe it works, I have not tested! There it costs anyway $ 14.00.

In any case, I thought I would share a review, so if you find the lip balm somewhere, you already know beforehand if it is worth buying or not :)

First of all, the packaging could not have been much nicer! It's a cute little red and white box, and when you pull out the little box, the lip balm is in a nice jar inside! Really a feeling of luxury!

The lip balm contains, among other things, argan oil and grape seed oil that moisturizes the lips, as well as sweet almond oil and shea butter that nourish and soften.

The lip balm feels incredibly nice on the lips, as soft and wonderful as you want it to be! In addition, it smells good, I can not put my finger on it but it smells mild and discreet, and sweet! The texture is very soft, a bit reminiscent of sorbet.

It is available in different colors but the shade I have is dark red pink. But on the lips, it gives very little color, just a small shade difference.

I personally probably would not have bought it for myself though, but without a doubt as a nice gift! I do not like this with lip balm in a jar, especially not a jar like this as you can not even easily dip your lips directly in it, and hardly the finger for that matter, although you should never put fingers in the beauty products.

A lip balm should work well in the handbag and improve when needed, but this is more of a stand-fine-at-home-by-the-mirror product that you can use with a lip brush on the side.

Do you know! Now I got an idea just for that! When I move and have a nice luxurious home and a beautiful bathroom, then I will have such a nice lip balm jar and nice lip brushes stand in the bathroom, and then all the guests can use it and get nice soft lips! Then they take a lip brush that is only used once, and then I wash them later. Luxurious huh? :) I have to remember that when it becomes relevant…

Hugs are!

New Year's make-up - Plum purple dress

Got an email the other day that I was going to answer in a post, as this is a common question every year actually :)

Hi Helena!
First of all, I just want to say thank you for a very nice and easy to understand blog even for us ordinary mortals!

Now to my dilemma!
I have, for the first time ever, gone and bought myself a dress that is NOT black, white or gray. I have really crawled out of my "comfort zone" and acquired a really magnificent plum-colored dress which I then also got for myself to use on New Year's! It is calf-length and close to the figure. A bit so adult sexy ..

The problem is that I do not have the faintest idea how the seventeen I should put on make-up for this heavenly creation. If you always wear black, it is the make-up you are lazy with!
Add that I am a new brunette and the confusion is total.
Would you like to be an angel and shine some light on how I best complement my dress ?!

I have light brown eyes and medium dark hair. Thank you in advance and a Merry Christmas I wish you!

Regards Katarina
Ps. Attach a picture of a dress in a similar color (my dress is not possible to find a single picture of unfortunately) "

Hey! How cute you are, thanks for all the kind words! :)

This particular color I get many questions about before each New Year actually. Plum purple and burgundy (much like the carpet in the picture) are colors that give many people a makeup-related decision anxiety!

Exactly what fits is of course a matter of taste, and a question of how dark / light / colorful you want to be. But here are some tips!

Step 1.
My first tip is to start from the lips, the most beautiful in my opinion is if you would find exactly the same shade as the dress, but it is very difficult… So instead I recommend checking through your lip colors, put them away that you do not think fits at all and go for the exclusion method. Red lips, preferably with a warm tone, are gorgeous in this color! But if you do not find something colorful on the lips that you think fits, then choose something more neutral nude-colored instead.

Step 2.
When you know what to wear on your lips, you can think of the eyes:

If you have dark red lips, you may want a little less focus on the eyes. Black and brown go with everything, and you can complement it with very light and shimmery shadows and lots of eyelashes to highlight the eyes!

But if you want the focus on the eyes, I can recommend gold or silver! Which of them really matters, choose the one that fits best with your accessories :) And then you can also complement with black or brown depending on how dark you want it.

Navy blue
If you want a color that suits the dress, I must also say that navy blue is super nice to plum purple! They blend in very well with each other and create a nice balance :)

Navy blue will also highlight your brown eyes!

Makeup tips (links):
Light gold make-up
Glittery gold make-up
Dark gold make-up
Light silver make-up
Dark silver makeup
Blue makeup
Navy blue makeup (1 year old, but good looking)

Hope you were satisfied with the answer, have a wonderful New Year's Eve and feel super good-looking! And if you are not satisfied, you can always google "plum dress red carpet" and see what the celebrities have for make-up :)

Hug hug!

New Year's tips - Protect the basic make-up

2

I nag about this every year before New Year's Eve, but you who have followed me for a long time may also need to be reminded a bit;)

When you do party make-up, especially those with glitter, it easily ends up a lot under the eyes, which destroys the basic make-up and can make the whole thing look dirty.

Either you do the eye make-up first and the basic make-up last, it works well with most foundations without ruining your fine tones. I personally do not like this, because I want to see the whole of the result while I make up my eyes to see if I want more / less of something. For me, it's about feeling good even when you put on make-up!

The second thing you can do is to keep a piece of paper under your eyes while applying flying shadows, but it can be a bit awkward and in addition, makeup can come under at least if you are not careful all the time.

So, my best tip is eye shadow primer (always important) and transparent loose powder!

IMG_7322_111

Applying a primer to the eyelids means that the eye shadows adhere better, and then there is also less risk of them flying around / falling down as everything adheres directly. You can also turn off the brush a little lightly against the hand after you have dipped it in the eye shadow, then excess powder falls off and you get less under the eyes.

The loose powder protects the basic make-up if you still get eye shadow under the eyes, with glitter it is almost impossible not to get it. When you are done, you can then easily brush off the powder with a fluffy brush, and then all the eye shadow fall follows and what remains is a flawless foundation :)

When I do glittery make-up, I usually apply the powder on a larger area than just under the eyes, but also the nose, upper lip and whole cheeks. Glitter has a tendency to fly / spread more than ordinary eye shadow.

Hugs are!

New Year's make-up now and then

The other day I looked back at last year's New Year's make - up and laughed, the make - up was nice but I can not understand that I had so many readers already then because my pictures were really bad!

The pictures were really super bright and brutally blurry, and both my skin and my hair were so light that it blends into the white wall behind me haha;)

But it gave me an idea, and it was to do one of the makeups this year again! Hope you like my new version!

A year ago vs today!

The only thing that was good about the photo a year ago was that glitter is more visible in blurry pictures;) But this year's make-up also glitters a lot in reality!

You will find last year's post here if you want to look at more of the pictures + step by step.

The lipstick is two different nude colors, I have a lighter tone in the middle for slightly fuller lips, both are Paese Lipstick with argan oil in shades 17 and 35.

Silvery cream eyeshadow on the entire eyelid and in the corner of the eye, Too Faced Glitter Glaze (Silver Sparks)
Blue and purple eye shadow in the middle of the eyelid (dotted on the silvery cream shadow), Byher 40 Palette.
Black eye shadow along the lower lash line, at the end of the eyelid and along the globe line, Paese Matte Black Eyeshadow.
Silver glitter dipped in the corner of the eye and in the innermost part of the eyelid, Make Up Store Glitter (Hologram) attached with Make Up Store Mixing Liquid.
Black eyeliner along the upper lash line, By Terry Ligne Blackstar.
Black mascara on all lashes, Golden Rose Miracle Lash Mascara.

Nail polish, Paese Nail Polish in shade 104.

Hope you like this year's variant as much as I do! :) Who knows, I might redo this makeup next year too with even more improvement, exciting!

A tip if you think that the make-up is a bit "too much" to be able to feel comfortable, it is not to put as much black eye shadow under the eye :)

Hugs are!
