When I saw Bangerhead get in Anastasia Contour Kit (which has been sold out all over the world) so I was really quick to click home my own!
This contour kit contains dark and light powders - shading and highlighter as it is called, which is used to shape the face. It is so incredibly hyped, reblogged and popular that I have received extreme cravings for this palette, so I could not help but buy it now even though it costs SEK 599.
In addition, this is a very good product for us makeup artists when we are out on makeup jobs :)
The light colors are applied to the areas of the face you want to emphasize and make you look taller, such as the nose bones, cheekbones and chin. The dark colors are used to make certain parts of the face look deeper, for example under the cheekbones and in the temples.
By using these light and dark eye shadows, you give the face more shape, mostly because the face looks quite flat when you have foundation in the whole face, but you can also use it to reshape certain parts of the face. Dark shadows on the sides of the nose and light along the nasal bone give the illusion of a narrower nose. This applies to the whole face, if you e.g. want to make the forehead narrower / wider or what you are looking for for results.
There are 3 light colors and 3 dark colors. All are matte except for the light powder at the top right which gives a nice glow when highlighting.
The light colors I use are the two outermost ones (not the yellow one in the middle), I first apply the matte on the far left, and then a little of the shimmery one on the far right. I only apply a little of the shimmery and on only certain parts, that's why I apply the mat first. I apply the shimmery one on the tip of the nose, a little at the highest point of the cheekbones, on the cupid's arch of the lips and a little in the middle of the chin.
The dark colors I use are the one on the far left and the one in the middle. The one in the middle is a little lighter and I use it on all parts of the face that I want to deepen, then I take it a little darker under the cheekbones and in the temples because there I want to have even more effect.
My first impression:
The palette is much smaller than I imagined! Thought one would get much more product for that price. Also, I'm not 100% happy with the delivery from Bangerhead as it was delayed, it would take 2-4 days but it took 10 days. Although it was the mail that clung and not Bangerhead, because the pallet was sent on time.
Conclusion:
I really like this palette, there is nothing to complain about and it will be very helpful when I am out on a makeup job. The powders are smooth, pigment-rich and easy to work with. But I do not really know if I think it is worth the high price, there is certainly a similar product that is cheaper and just as good.
So I will definitely use this, and if I had a better economy then maybe I would buy it again, but I do not think I will. However, I will keep my eyes open for a similar product as the product itself is extremely smart and practical :)
Hug!
