Anastasia Contour Kit (Review)

When I saw Bangerhead get in Anastasia Contour Kit (which has been sold out all over the world) so I was really quick to click home my own!

This contour kit contains dark and light powders - shading and highlighter as it is called, which is used to shape the face. It is so incredibly hyped, reblogged and popular that I have received extreme cravings for this palette, so I could not help but buy it now even though it costs SEK 599.

In addition, this is a very good product for us makeup artists when we are out on makeup jobs :)

The light colors are applied to the areas of the face you want to emphasize and make you look taller, such as the nose bones, cheekbones and chin. The dark colors are used to make certain parts of the face look deeper, for example under the cheekbones and in the temples.

By using these light and dark eye shadows, you give the face more shape, mostly because the face looks quite flat when you have foundation in the whole face, but you can also use it to reshape certain parts of the face. Dark shadows on the sides of the nose and light along the nasal bone give the illusion of a narrower nose. This applies to the whole face, if you e.g. want to make the forehead narrower / wider or what you are looking for for results.

There are 3 light colors and 3 dark colors. All are matte except for the light powder at the top right which gives a nice glow when highlighting.

The light colors I use are the two outermost ones (not the yellow one in the middle), I first apply the matte on the far left, and then a little of the shimmery one on the far right. I only apply a little of the shimmery and on only certain parts, that's why I apply the mat first. I apply the shimmery one on the tip of the nose, a little at the highest point of the cheekbones, on the cupid's arch of the lips and a little in the middle of the chin.

The dark colors I use are the one on the far left and the one in the middle. The one in the middle is a little lighter and I use it on all parts of the face that I want to deepen, then I take it a little darker under the cheekbones and in the temples because there I want to have even more effect.

My first impression:
The palette is much smaller than I imagined! Thought one would get much more product for that price. Also, I'm not 100% happy with the delivery from Bangerhead as it was delayed, it would take 2-4 days but it took 10 days. Although it was the mail that clung and not Bangerhead, because the pallet was sent on time.

Conclusion:
I really like this palette, there is nothing to complain about and it will be very helpful when I am out on a makeup job. The powders are smooth, pigment-rich and easy to work with. But I do not really know if I think it is worth the high price, there is certainly a similar product that is cheaper and just as good.

So I will definitely use this, and if I had a better economy then maybe I would buy it again, but I do not think I will. However, I will keep my eyes open for a similar product as the product itself is extremely smart and practical :)

Nail Foils - Update

Hi fine ni! Hope you had a good start to the week :)

I was going to give you an update on nail foil insert I published last week. Nail foils, or nail foils as they are also called, are stickers with different patterns that you just apply to the nail, file off the edges to get it adapted to your own shape, and then you have super nice and professional nails!

This is what my nails look like today, exactly one week later:

SAM_0448_111Super nice still! They have not dropped anywhere on a single finger! It is as I said 7 days exactly I have had them now, I made them in the morning last Monday.

I want to emphasize that they probably sit better on me as I have gel reinforcement underneath, they are completely smooth without any irregularities at all. So if you are going to apply on your own nails, it can be good to polish the nail with a polishing file before so that you also get a smooth surface.

There is also someone who has thought that this only works on long nails, but that is not true, it will be super nice on short ones too! But keep that in mind when choosing a pattern, as the whole pattern will not come with if you have short nails.

My nail foils come from Nailz.se and they have lots of different variants - even luminous! The price is between SEK 19 and SEK 29 per package.

Birthday makeup now and then

Tomorrow is my birthday, and to make today's make - up a little fun, I looked back in the archive to see what my birthday make - up looked like on my birthday 3 years ago!

I was a brunette and had a pink-purple-black make-up, not completely crazy but it's fun to see how it has developed, both in terms of make-up and photos, there is a stoooor difference :)

Think I've been makeup blogging for so long, 4 years now! The blog was started in 2009 and in 2010 it became more and more focused on makeup.

Hope you like my new interpretation! :)

2011-2014

The shadows I had in 2011 I do not have left, so it is not exactly the same colors.

2011-2014 close-up

What do you think? :)

Now in 2014, I have at least used these colors byher 40 palette, and Annika's Favorite Shadow!

Light eye shadow in the corner of the eye, under the brow and the innermost part of the eyelid.
Pink eye shadow in the middle of the eyelid and the middle of the lower lash line.
Purple eye shadow at the end of the eyelid.
Black eye shadow along the globe line and at the end of the lower lash line.
Black eyeliner with wing, IsaDora Flex Tip Eyeliner
Black mascara on all lashes, Lumene Cloudberry Volume Serum Mascara

I forgot the lip gloss when I started taking pictures, but then I came up with it, so that's why I have lip gloss in some pictures and others not. The lip gloss is in any case YAG Mineral Lip Gloss in the shade Red Bomb.

Hair Care Tips - Shampoo, Conditioner, Oil & Dry Shampoo

I have always been very careful with my hair, I have very rarely styled it with heating tools (only if I go to a party which is not very often) and have always been both careful not to wear it and cared for it with good products.

The only thing I do (which I also got better at since I became a little darker blonde) is to bleach my hair, it does not like my hair at all! I have very easy to get torn hair, so I have to be proper on all other points so that it does not fall off.

In other words, I have tested a lot when it comes to hair, I am a real hair care product nerd;) and therefore thought to share exactly what my routines look like today, because I feel a little that I have found my home in the hair care jungle!

First and foremost, the products you use most often are the most important to prioritize. Your hair will thank you more for being a little taken care of every day than if you are careless for a month and then buy a very expensive hair wrap. In other words, invest in a good shampoo and conditioner that your hair likes! Many people have a barrier when it comes to just shampoo and conditioner, because there is so much cheap that still does the job, but it becomes more expensive in the long run with more hairdresser visits and expensive products that repair the hair. And the result will not be as good either.

I began to love Sanctum already after the first use, I would not have taken it into the shop otherwise for shampoo and conditioner are quite "boring" products that I have not previously thought of taking in, but these I love! The hair gets really smooth and above all I like that it feels so heavenly light and airy without being fluffy. I can almost not stop touching it after the shower :) Otherwise, my hair tends to both feel rough and look like a licked cat without volume products, but I no longer have that problem!

In addition, it feels good in the heart also to in good conscience flush the products down the drain, these are 100% natural ingredients of which between 82%-95% are organically certified! Among other things, the products contain aloe vera which binds moisture, but here are a few more of the ingredients and what they do for the hair (the ingredients vary a bit depending on the product and hair type)

Sugar cane which cleanses the hairs deeply and gives the shampoo its foaming effect.
Jojoba oil which smoothes out frizzy hair and gives you control over split ends.
Lemon oil is bactericidal, soothing and refreshing.
Argan oil which is a luxurious miracle oil that provides moisture and nourishment to hair and scalp, and helps damaged hairs to become soft and manageable.
Chamomile which is caring and soothing for the scalp and hair.
Soy protein which strengthens the hairs.
Lime oil which is bactericidal, soothing and refreshing.
Guar gum which is extracted from the guar plant and gives volume to thin hairs.

review-sanctum-shampoo-and-conditionerGot awesome reviews from Mia who previously stuck to Macadamia but still wanted to try Sanctum - and loved it! :)

I shower my hair about every 4 days, and then I wash the hair 2 times with shampoo as the hairs are not completely open on the first use, but thoroughly cleaned the second time. I massage the scalp a lot while shampooing, but I am quite careful not to ruffle the lengths. Then I apply the conditioner and then I do not frizz at all in the hair but work it in with downward hand movements. I let the conditioner sit for a few minutes while I wash my body and face.

After the shower, I lubricate the hair with argan oil, 100% pure argan oil I like the most but it gets a little expensive for the hair so oils that mostly contain argan oil also work super well. Waterclouds argan oil and Nashi Argan Oil are my favorites!

hair oil-argan

Then I let my hair down self-drying if I have the opportunity, but should I go to bed, I blow-dry it before. The hair does not feel good at all from sleeping with it wet against the pillow. If I blow-dry my hair, I also have heat protection, right now it is LCC The Heat Is On which I use, but usually skip if I can as I do not want to remove the mental feeling of having only natural ingredients in my hair.

I always sleep with my hair the same way, dry and in a braid!

When I wake up in the morning I let my hair out, possibly have more hair oil if I think it is needed, then I brush through it and then I'm done :) My hair extensions from Hair Talk is super nice when it's just wavy from the braid.

And if I'm not fairly freshly showered, I use dry shampoo on the scalp to get rid of the greasy feeling and also get a little more volume. My favorites are LCC Good To Go and Bangerhead Fresh me Up, but I still do not know which one I like most of them but drive a little different days. LCC is cheaper and I love the scent, but Bangerhead feels better for my sensitive scalp.

Other tips that I think are important:

* Brush gently! Hold the hair while brushing, so there is less risk of tearing the hairs from the scalp (also important to me with hair extensions). Start from the bottom up, it is much easier to remove tangles from the top of the hair if you have already straightened everything in lengths. Do not see this as a quick step you just want to get over on three quick strokes, if you wear your hair you will only get more tangles in the long run.

* Many people skip brushing their hair completely and it is also not good if you want well-groomed hair, the tufts should be removed immediately if it should not tear the hair.

* Use hair care products that are tailored to your hair type, then you will see the best results. I use for treated hair as I bleach it.

* Use tassels without metal buckles, the metal wears on the hair!

Is there anything else you are wondering so shout out! :)
