The cat eye makeup (Step by step makeup)

I thought this make-up was very fun to do! It became a cool shape on the eyes and the ombre lips until it became a very nice combo :) I matched it to a gray sweater to "dress down" the makeup a bit and create contrasts.

My business week v. 12

This week I would describe as intense! There have been many different projects mixed with all the usual "daily work" to catch up with in addition :) So it has been long days and zero time off, except for a coffee with Frida that we managed to squeeze in after a bit of puzzles in the schedule haha!

A very fun week then!

Planning and brainstorming meeting
Me, Miska and Annika had a cozy planning meeting at Annika's house where we had a long agenda! For several hours we sat and worked, me and Miska came home 23 the night before.

We went through all the major things that we do not have time to talk about in a quarter of an hour at the salon (as with all small decisions) and it was mixed with things that we needed to fix and decide immediately and things that are a little more "dreamy" and preparatory that you have to talk and think through before you can make decisions about it later :)

Here is Annika using large tiles as whiteboards to write on. It's full of whiteboards at her house, so much fun :)

Teeth whitening
Soon a new colleague will start with us with teeth whitening! Mia will start with a few dates from time to time already in April and then at the end of the summer she will work with us even more. She tested our bleaching equipment on me this week!

You are terribly good-looking then! I am a good person to practice as I have "very different sweet teeth that are a little harder" as our former teeth whitening Alexander described them haha. It was lucky that I refused braces in primary school so that my teeth can be used in the company;)

Meetings
I have had several development meetings with colleagues as well, both an hour with the whole team but also individual meetings with 30 minutes per person. Very rewarding as usual! :) After each meeting we have together, everyone gives feedback on how the meeting was, and two weeks in a row there have been "a lot of to-do points on Helena". I find it so easy to take on things that others can actually do, I think "it goes faster if I do it" and "it is better if they focus on something else so I fix this" which is true to some extent but is neither smart nor efficient in the long run.

"Get better at delegating" is still an item on my personal development list haha!

Campaign photos for April
Next week will be April and I have been busy with the campaign pictures before that! Malin and I (who otherwise do these) helped each other this month as she had so many other jobs to prioritize :)

We will market my Beauty guides posts a little extra so I made this picture for it:

Surely it turned out pretty nice? :)

Hairdresser training with a focus on dry hair
On Wednesday, my barber Niclas and I went to Gävle for a hair pathologist training where we immersed ourselves in dry hair and scalp.

I have been a trained hairologist before and now I am even more immersed in the subject! It's so interesting that you have no idea! I love to get nerdy, talk about molecules, pH values and different cases ”this person has curly hair, strength 5 and stretchability 5 and experiences his hair as very dry in the tops even though according to the values it is not, what do you recommend for products and what do you mix in the products for extra good effect? ”.

Niclas was impressed with me on the way home, that I know so much even though I am not a hairdresser and was at the same level of knowledge as other hairdressers. But hair care products are not about being able to cut and color, but to be incredibly interested in products and skin care and understand how the hair is built. I have to write a long blog post about all this I feel! :)

Back in the school desk then :) I thrive in that role and am so grateful that I came in contact with Hårologi which feels like the most serious hair care brand. Diana comes to us regularly and not to sell us news or more products but just to rehearse our knowledge and make sure we keep everything fresh in our minds, can ask questions we have thought about etc. It is difficult to find someone who is so passionate much for hair like Diana does, here is a person who knows what she's talking about, I'm so impressed with her! :)

Film a sweet Easter greeting
Next week is Easter! So cozy and you know what? Annika who has hens for the first time in her life has got chickens !!! How cute? They hatched last weekend and Annika kept us updated via text message!

We just had to include them in a sweet greeting when we wish all our followers and customers a Happy Easter on social media :) We built a small studio with products and props!

Behind the scenes:

Annika fixed the props! We were at her house so we just borrowed the chickens from the mother, so you do not think we took them to the salon for a whole day or achieved such a terrible thing haha.

Model chicken! Sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet!

Pip pip pip pip pip! So sweet that you collapse!

We are called @ Creativemakeup.se on Instagram and Facebook, if you want to go in and see the film, we will publish it some day a week.

Saturday job and many customers
This week it was a 6-day week at the salon because we had so many bookings on Saturday that I came in and took customers. Very funny! I have taken before and after pictures of the three make-up customers I had this week, so you will see that in the blog soon! I have also had many fringe and brow customers, it is noticeable that it is spring and everyone is starting to wake up to life :)

Sunday job
Do you want to see how I sit and work right now, you have a film clip on my Insta Story (@ imakeyousmile.se) when I work in the sun on our terrace. Coffee, Spanish music and a playful boyfriend :) Really cozy! It will remain on Instagram for 24 hours.

Since, as I said, I had a lot of small projects this week, I lag behind in my normal daily work a lot, which I now take back. Because I will not have time to do much tomorrow either because first I will go to Disruptive Materials and make up 12 people then quickly back to the salon because I have a customer after kl. 15.

But instead of feeling tired, it's better to make it a great time! Warm sun and happy music that gives a real energy boost! Really have no problem sitting here and doing good! :)

Have a great end to this wonderful week everyone!

I myself will take a quick break and sit down with the coffee cup and some Digestive biscuits on the stairs in the sun before I make one last jerk for this week :)

Hugs are!

Eyebrow & color

I know you like before and after pictures of my brow customers and it's been a while since I took the picture. But here is an eyebrow pick & color that I made on a customer the other day!

She was very happy with the result :)

Very big difference!

On some skin types, the color settles in the skin immediately afterwards (usually on dry skin) so the brow is not made up at all, there is only a little color left on the skin. So the result will not be quite as sharp after she has washed her face 1-2 times :)

Swatch - glo Pressed Base Foundation

Choosing the right foundation shade is not the easiest thing to do, and also doing it online with only "animated" pictures of the shades does not simplify things.

About a week ago, I received a request in a comment from someone who asked if I could show swatch pictures of the foundation Pressed Base Foundation from the mineral brand glo Skin Beauty, and I have had plans for it for a very long time but have not gotten shot, but now I have done it! :)

Pressed Base Foundation is a mineral foundation in pressed form that comes in a nice, matte box with magnetic closure and mirror in the lid. Very nice packaging (note the brand has recently changed its packaging so our warehouse is currently mixed with new and old packaging).

Tips on how to choose the right shade over the internet!
Start by looking at the swatch images and select some shades that you think might fit.

2. Read the descriptions of these shades and see which one fits best in how you would describe your skin tone. For example. if you choose between the Golden series and the Natural series, you can read about what suits you best from the outside if you are more yellow or more neutral.

3. Be aware that the images may vary depending on which screen you are looking at, my MAC computer does not have the same color settings as my old Samsung mobile. So compare the shades with each other e.g. "It is warmer and brighter than it" in combination with how the shades are described in text.

4. If you choose between two shades, choose one that feels like the "right category" rather than the right dark / brightness mode. If you e.g. is a Golden medium and happens to buy a Golden light, it is usually no disaster because when you have applied concealer, contouring, blush, etc., it blends in well anyway because the difference is quite small. If, on the other hand, you choose a shade from the Beige series, the difference to your own skin tone will be much greater, even if the shade is neither too light nor too dark.

The shades are divided into different series depending on your undertone, Natural, Golden, Beige, Honey, Chestnut, Tawny and Cocoa. These "categories" of colors contain several shades with different dark modes from Fair to Dark.

Natural series
Three shades, fair, light and medium. Suitable for you with neutral skin tone with peach to yellow undertones.

In our store there is also the fourth shade "dark" but we have chosen not to sell it in the webshop as it is very unusual that it is usually a wrong purchase. But if you want it online, you can email us and we will help with that.

Golden series
Three shades, light, medium and dark. Suitable for you with a warm skin tone with yellow to olive undertones.

Beige series
Three shades light, medium and dark. Suitable for you with a cold skin tone with a peach undertone.

The Honey series
Four shades, fair, light, medium and dark. Suitable for you with a warm skin tone with yellow to olive undertones.

Chestnut series
Two shades, light and medium. Suitable for you with a warm skin tone with a deep yellow to olive undertone.

Tawny series
Two shades, light and medium. Suitable for you with a neutral skin tone with a deep peach undertone.

Cocoa series
Three shades, light, medium and dark. Light is warmer with a peach undertone while Medium and Dark are cooler reddish brown.

10 most common shades:
Light skin tone: Natural fair, Natural light, Golden light
Light to medium skin tone: Golden medium, Golden dark, Honey light.
Medium skin tone: Honey medium, Tawny light
Medium to dark skin tone: Cocoa light, Cocoa medium.

Other things to think about regarding the new choice of Pressed Base Foundation:
The coverage is buildable and if you apply a thin layer, the shade adapts a bit to your natural skin tone underneath. If, on the other hand, you apply a comprehensive result, it is more important to find a perfectly suitable shade.

The neck is usually lighter than the face / décolleté. This is how you match your foundation with the neck but is darker on the décolleté so the whole main part can look too light. Do not forget to check the shade on the décolleté and rather put make-up on the neck so that the color blends together if there is a big difference.

Beige medium, Beige dark and Natural medium are quite unusual (but occur of course!) Because if you are darker than Beige light and Natural light, most of them go a little in the warmer direction. I write this only because it can be helpful if you are unsure, do you choose between e.g. Beige medium and Golden dark so the odds are statistically greater that Golden dark will fit better.

In this picture I have the shade Honey Fair. My skin tone is light but with a little tan left after the sun holiday.

Spring make-up in brown, green & turquoise

Hello everyone! :)

Today's make-up is inspired by spring!

It is actually the middle of March already and despite the fact that we in Gimo have so much snow that we who are bad at shoveling have to leave the car out on the street (ashamed, haha) I know that in some parts of Sweden it is quite our -like already? :) I talked but my friend Nicolin on the phone yesterday, she lives in Gothenburg and said that there is no snow there at all. But this sun that was this weekend gives spring feelings regardless of the amount of snow, so wonderful!

This make-up feels happy and has small splashes of color in green and turquoise that enliven. Hope you like it too :)

Face primer - Paese Makeup Base (Matte)
Foundation -
Pixi H2O Skintint (2 Nude)
Concealer -
Pixi Pat Away Concealing Base (1 Cream)
Contouring & highlighter - Contouring Palette (2)
Glowy highlighter - Pixi Glow-Y-Powder (London Luster)
Powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder
Rouge - Blush (35)
Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

Brynpenna - Benecos Eyebrow Designer (Brunette)

Lip pencil - Benecos Lip Liner (Red) on the entire lips
Colored lip balm - Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm (Ripe Raspberry) dabbed all over her lips.

I like make-up that is easy to wear (that this is light and brown for the most part) but that it also contains details such as color clicks and the details in the outer corner of the eye that make the whole make-up make the whole look happy and special while not being ” super make-up ”if you do not like it easily :)

All earthy shadows are from the 4 palette Glo Skin Beauty Shadow Quartet (Bon Voyage)

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
Light eye shadow on the inside of the eyelid
  2. Dark brown eye shadow at the end of the eyelid
  3. Light brown shimmer shadow in the middle of the eyelid
Fade the brown shadows along the globe line
  4. Brown eyeliner along the lower lash line and obliquely downwards in the outer corner of the eye, Paese Linea Automatic Liner (Brown Glam)
  5. Green eyeliner along the upper and lower lash line, Paese Linea Automatic Liner (Olive Glam) and the brown eyeliner as an eyeliner wing as well.
  6. Turquoise eye shadow under the eyeliner and at the bottom of the lower lash line, Paese Neo Eyeshadow (684)
White eye shadow under the turquoise details, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (601)
  7. Black mascara on all lashes, Magnetic lash mascara

Clear!

Hope you get a great start to the new week ♥
