Glamorous complexion before & after (Make-up 40+)

At this make-up consultation, a base for dry skin with a lot of radiance and a party make-up with marked eyes and lips was wanted :)

She was very happy with the result and so happy that products are included in the price!

Here is the result:

She has tattooed eyeliner on the pre-image :)

BASE:
Face primer - glo Skin Beauty Illuminating Primer
Foundation - Pixi H2O Skintint (2 Nude)
Concealer - gloMinerals Under eye concealer (Golden)
Contouring & matt highlighter - Contour Palette
Highlighter with lights - Pixi Glow-Y-Powder (Santorini Sunset)
Rouge - gloMinerals blush (Papaya)
Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

A base gives a lot of radiance and evens out the skin tone nicely. Her skin does not really need concealer, but on some pigment spots, we only put it on today because she was going out to festivities.

EYEBROW:
Brynpenna - glo Skin Beauty Miro brow liner (Raven)

She had a fairly clear eyebrow shape already when she usually picks and dyes, but it still makes a very big difference to fill in with a pencil!

EYES:
Eyeshadow Primer - Pixi eye bright primer
Eyeshadows - glo Skin Beauty Shadow Quad (Rebel Angel)
Light shimmer shadow in the corner of the eye - Paese Opal Eyeshadow trio (Colorado)
Light eyeliner along the waterline - gloMinerals Eye Pencil (Peach)
Eyeliner with wing– Kryolan HD Cream Liner (Ebony)
Mascara - Magnetic lash mascara

In the outer edges and globe line it is a completely matte reddish brown shadow, in the inner part of the eyelid a matte light shadow, and in the middle a shimmery peach / golden eye shadow :) . I chose matte shadows where there are more lines and then shimmer on slightly smoother areas.

LIPS:
Lip pencil - glo Skin Beauty Lip Pencil (Pronto)
Lipstick - glo Skin Beauty Cream Glaze Crayon (Heirloom)

Surely she fit very well in this lip combination? How nice!

These shadows are so heavenly beautiful!

Hope you were inspired! :)

Hug!

Make up the lips bigger

There are a lot of discussions and tips about making the lips bigger, how to make them look fuller, etc.

I personally think that small lips and large lips are just as nice, and everything in between of course. When I look back at old pictures, I like that the mouth is narrower and a little more "small and fluffy" in shape.

But what I love more than my natural lip shape is lipstick haha! I do not make my lips bigger because they actually look big - but because then I can have even more lipstick! I could have half my face with just mouth and lipstick if it had gone haha :)

And what is so fun about makeup is that you can play loose and paint far beyond your own contour (more / less easily on different lip shapes should be added) and vary your lips from day to day!

The picture on the left is a make-up from 2014 and the picture on the right is taken today.

As you can see, my natural upper lip is very narrow at the edges, like a small line just almost :) And it's great too! But the lipstick will not be as effective as when I paint further outside.

I have not done anything with the nose if any of you started comparing it as well, it only looks sickly different if you look from the left or right as it is a little slanted.

Exactly how I paint my lips is different from day to day, but I could make a post with different tips on how to make up outside the mold if you want to read it?

Today I am testing a new lip pen I received a press release on last week from the brand GOSH Copenhagen. Very good first impression! Can write more about it at a later time, sit at the salon and write so do not have a press info in front of me but I think it is a news that has not been released yet. May be wrong. But I have just eaten lunch and do not need better on the lips at all, sits very well!

One thing I see in the picture now and which I actually never thought of myself - apparently I keep my little finger under my chin to be more steady on the hand, that's a good tip! :) Will think about it next time I put on my lips, if I do it every time haha.

Most outside I put make-up on the edges of the upper lip, this is where my own shape is at its narrowest. But the whole lip is painted outside :)

I compare with an old picture because I have a lip tattoo nowadays which is also outside my own contour, so the difference is not as big :)

Makeup and strong colors are so much a habit. I remember the first time I had red lips in school, in high school, it felt like everyone was looking at me haha. And the first time I painted a little outside the contour, I felt like a clown!

But now that I use so much lipstick, red lips are very natural, it is so classic and common as well. When people talk about "dare to have red lips in everyday life" so understand I obviously like the thing and think it's great fun but for me personally it's so neutral that I do not even think about it :)

Hope you all have a great start to the new week!

I myself kickstart the week with the world's training pain after all the firewood I carried yesterday. We get both heat + water with wood burning = a lot of wood is used and the one we buy in the summer does not fit indoors but a large part is stored in our wood shed on the farm. So when it now starts to run out of wood inside, we have to refill from the outside.

Untrained, small and weak but incredibly stubborn, I drove all alone in the snow yesterday with the Success Pod in my ears :) Do you know how heavy it is to pull a wheelbarrow full of wood, in snow, with punk on the tire? I am well tender in the body today if you say so;)

Meen is good training and I felt good, so I do not complain at all!

Hugs are ♥

My Business Week v. 8

This week has basically only been spent with two of my funniest areas - customers and pictures :)

Rowing in the webshop
This week is the week when I finally got to grips with the big project of tidying up the webshop properly!

Our range has been updated quite a bit lately and I have not really kept up with the turns with the material around, which has made the whole thing a big project, instead of having maintained it continuously. And when things get big projects, it takes time before you have such a big gap that you can sit down and grab it all.

As you know, I am a beauty writer on our website / webshop Creativemakeup.se and if you click on Beauty Guides, you will find lots of posts with before and after pictures of how to use the products, make-up tips and step-by-step make-up made with the products we sell.

And if you go into a product in the webshop, there are also links to beauty guides where that particular product is included.

For example: If you go into the mineral foundation gloMinerals Pressed Base in the webshop, I have done this nicely under the usual product description:

Detailed description of the shades - a film where you see application with this foundation and on the far right two products to supplement with which for this foundation is either a kabuki brush or buffed base brush.

And just below this there are links to 3 beauty guides where I used this foundation:

Sovereign huh? :)

My sister Malin who works for me helps with a lot of basic things, but exactly how I want it, only I know (picky haha) so it will be a lot of work for me anyway.

But what has taken the most time is to go through all the posts that have been published and either delete or edit those that are not completely relevant anymore. For example. "Base make-up for red-flaming skin" of which two of the products are no longer available for purchase, then I remove the entire post. There were really many of them haha.

Or as in the swatch image post with Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm, where Pixi has ended up with two of the shades that I had to cut out of the images and change images throughout the post:

Here I upload new pictures. "Selected image" is the one that becomes the front of the post in the feed later.

Same with gloMinerals lipstick pens that have both new and removed shades + changed packaging.

But now all posts are updated anyway! :) I still have a lot to do in the webshop, but when you browse through the beauty guide posts, everything is ready! Wiho! And so from now on I will do all this immediately when we get changes in the range so that this problem does not come again.

And a new front page for the beauty guides page I have redone too! The most common is to hold the arrow over the Beauty guides button in the menu and directly go into the right category, but if you click straight into the Beauty guide you will come to this page:

All posts are divided into three categories :)

Or you can browse through all the posts by continuing to scroll down this page:

Doing things like this technically can look so much easier when you are on a website, but the appearance is deceptive, you may think, and sometimes you get stuck on things for a very long time. Especially when you are as stubborn as I am;)

Work from home
This week I really feel that it is lucky that I adapt my job a lot myself. To be able to work from home, to be able to change work tasks to something practical when it is difficult to concentrate, and on the contrary for a while just cave in to work and "therapy-work" when you need to let go of everyday life for a while.

It is namely that I had a really tough period at home now that 3 of my 4 wonderful cats have passed away in a very short time… It feels completely unreasonable unfair. Two of the cats now died within 4 days, one on Thursday last week and the other now on Monday. I've been completely devastated!

So on Monday I worked from home while Miska was at the vet - and I still thought / hoped that it would end well.

Then I could not work from home for several days even though I had actually planned it, because it really had not been possible to focus at home. Happy customers and colleagues mixed with being able to sit and cave down in front of the computer under a blanket in the office has been a perfect mix to make the days!

Now we only have Viktoria left ♥ Here we sit in front of the fire and work with pictures at home in the evening after work. IF she gets spoiled now haha, I'm used to spreading my love on 4 small hairballs and now she gets everything herself.

Beauty is wellness
This week when I needed to "therapy-work" I wrote a long post about that beauty is wellness! You can read the post here if you missed it.

Writing long blog posts takes longer than you might think, for me anyway. I often write in batches to get rid of the "dyslexia" that can occur, sometimes it is impossible to see if a sentence makes sense to the one who has not been inside my brain and read my thoughts before haha. Then you have to pause and then read the post when you kind of forgot what you wrote and read as a "new reader" :)

Image publishing & dropbox
I have edited many before and after pictures from the salon, which you saw in the picture in front of the fireplace where Nicla's beard and haircut customer was in the picture. The actual publication of our photos does not work in a particularly smooth way today, so we have figured out how to improve it and come up with a good layout! Love when you can streamline things :)

At present, I get pictures from different places, some I bring into my computer myself from the camera in the makeup studio while some others have sent via text message or email. All these pictures in different places make me crazy soon haha but also gives you lots of extra work to have to keep track of everything.

But now soon everyone will put their pictures in our shared folder in dropbox, so I will always have everyone in the same place! Then when I have selected pictures, cut them together as before and after, I put them in the dropbox again. Then my colleagues will take care of the publication of them! It's great that they can help with that, partly to save time for me but also because they themselves know who performed the treatment so that you can write e.g. "Brow pick made by Olga" e.g. So it will be much smoother so :)

I have also plucked the eyebrows of two guys and photographed it to market eyebrow plucking in connection with beard trimming and cutting. It makes such a big difference to pick your eyebrows at the same time!

And our barber Niclas is really so crazy good I must add too, so picky about details that I did not even know existed haha, like the shape of the hair on the back of the head if you look at the profile and things that require expert eyes. I have looked a bit at the best light etc for Niclas to take pictures of his customers and then it is so important but the angle to include all these important details :) I have learned a lot now haha!

Saturday job!
It was a long time since I was at the salon on a Saturday, but yesterday we had so many bookings that I had to jump in too :) So four fully booked makeup artists we were at Creative Makeup yesterday and it was so much fun to put on make-up! It's always fun to put on make-up but it's even more fun now when you work some Saturdays now and then only, I have one Saturday in February and one in March. Before, when I worked every Saturday and always 6-day weeks, people did not enjoy the Saturdays as much as I do now.

I took photos before and after of my client so it will be up in the blog sometime next week!

Here we stand and put on make-up on a rolling belt! Olga, Lisa, Ämma and so I on the far right who shows how my customer should cast the shadow to lift the gaze haha :)

Now I'm going to grab some do to's here at home. We just got home from the swimming pool and have been fooling around with my sister's two children! Now I will burn up some heat here in the house, talk goja with dad tel, fix with wood and then wash my hair and have a relaxing moment in the bath.

Have a continued fantastic Sunday fine you!

Hugs are! ♥

Warm brown & Cold purple

This make-up with warm brown tones (on both eyelids and lips) together with a cool purple detail under the eye is a simple but at the same time a finishing touch to make-up that I received a lot of compliments for at the salon!

It's a bit fun to "measure in compliments", because I who always have different make-up, which people are used to, rarely get comments about them precisely because it is so common. But some make-up stands out in the number of reactions, even if they are not particularly advanced, and then you know that the make-up has that little extra :)

And to emphasize, by compliments I do not mean "how nice you are" but compliments specifically for the makeup. For example. this day I heard "how nice with purple!" and "what a nice make-up you have today" very often.

And when it comes to the fact that eyeliner with a wing is not the easiest for everyone, the purple "dot over the i-detail" itself is super easy to do! I just mixed light purple eye shadow with the liquid Kryolan Cake Liner Sealer and applied as eyeliner + mascara at the lower lashes with a flat brush. Goes in half a minute!

Hope you like the make-up you too :)

Foundation - gloMinerals Pressed Base Foundation (Honey fair)
Concealer -
Pixi Pat Away Concealing Base (1 Cream)
Contouring & highlighter - Contouring Palette (2)
Powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder
Rouge - Blush (35)
Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

Brynpenna - Benecos Eyebrow Designer (Brunette)

Lipsticks - glo Skin Beauty Lip Pencil (Acorn) on the entire lips and (Java) in the contours.

I really like the contrast between the hot and the cold :)

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
Brown eye shadow on the entire eyelid and globe line, fade out, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (609)
  2. Light shimmer shadow in the middle of the eyelid and in the corner of the eye, Paese opal eyeshadow trio (Colorado)
  3. Black eyeliner with wing, Kryolan HD Cream Liner (Ebony)
  4. Black mascara on the upper lashes, Magnetic lash mascara
Light purple mascara / eyeliner under the eye, Kryolan Cake Liner Sealer mixed with Paese Neo Eyeshadow (654)

Clear!

Beauty is wellness

One topic that has interested me enormously lately and that we talk a lot about at the salon, is that beauty is not just surface but that it also does very good on the inside.

It's really something I learned after several years in the beauty industry, for most people it's more about well - being than vanity. Beauty is wellness!

The double standard around beauty
Of course, there are different ways to look at this. From a purely feminist perspective, there are many who feel the need to look good and there are lots of unhealthy advertisements and ideals. But it is also double standards in the other direction - to put on a lot of make-up and "unnatural" is seen as vain, the ideal is to be "naturally good-looking" but how many have flawless skin and alert eyes without aids? And if, on the contrary, you go without make-up, you get comments like "are you tired?" "are you sick?" "What happened to your skin?"

All this I just want to erase! I can go from head to toe one day without caring about people's opinions about it, and the other day be completely unmade up with pimples on my face and with a tight tassel on my head because my hair is so frizzy that if I let it out that so the hair would still remain in the shape of a ponytail haha - without caring about people's opinions about it!

And in the same way, I want everyone to be able to do exactly what they want and just enjoy what the beauty routine means to that particular person.

Beauty is not just surface
Beauty is about free time, taking care of yourself and enjoying what you see in the mirror. For many, it is also fun and a way to express themselves, such as jewelry or clothing. The focus for basically all customers and people I talk to is never to be the most beautiful in the world without emphasizing oneself and seeing a livelier and happier person in the mirror and enjoying the idea that "this is me!". If you look in the mirror and do not see a person who mirrors his inside, it will have a psychological effect.

If I do not feel particularly tired but look in the mirror and see a gray person with a sour mouth, then that's exactly how I will feel later.

It's a bit like smiling at yourself in the mirror even though you are not happy, the brain is not so damn smart always, then you can fool yourself that you are happy and then you will be happier! :) And for me, a nice lipstick or that I like my eye makeup together with this smile is twice as effective! For others, it may be to conjure away a little darkness under the eyes, that the skin has a nice glow or a fun hair color in the hair!

It's about why you do it
It's all about why you use makeup and beauty products. If you think make-up is fun - make-up loose! If you think skin care is fun - cream on! And some people do not think it's fun to hold on and prefer to sleep a little longer, and for them it may be worth it to indulge in more lasting beauty such as lash color or permanent makeup. We are all different and you have to find your own way, beauty is a luxury that I think you should enjoy, it should not be an evil must.

Own time and take care of yourself
For me personally, it is also very much about the "ritual". It is when I wash my face with a fragrant facial cleanser in the morning that I wake up. It's therapy for me to play in front of the makeup mirror. And when I wash my hair (which happens once a week = a procedure), it is my best relaxation of the whole week with wonderful products and next to the edge of the bathtub I have my computer with a cozy series.

Answer yes I am a self-proclaimed expert on everyday luxury;)

For some it is a nightmare to keep up as I do, but for me I think it is a big reason why I am very mentally well despite a lot of stress and pressure as a self-employed + had a tough time with grief and family conflicts since my mom passed away. I have never stopped taking care of the outside of my body which for me has been like cotton for the soul, and it's not just about good looks but about sitting and raw about myself.

Beauty can be therapy for many!
When I was a teenager, I had a lot of problems with both self-esteem and self-confidence and have had to struggle a lot with it. So I know it's not easy. But for me, make-up became therapy, both because it is creative but also because I felt better about it. If I felt insecure, I put on a little harder make-up around the eyes and stared into the mirror with a cool look and then I felt stronger! When I was in a bad mood, I had a green eye shadow from IsaDora and a pink lip gloss with shimmer that always made me happier!

And lubricating oneself and taking care of oneself causes the body to secrete the "love hormone" oxytocin, which contributes to calm and well-being.

To work with beauty
The best thing about my job is that so many customers really do seems that they have been made happier and more energetic! Some go from there with a completely different attitude and charisma! Even many say outright "god how wonderful to see my eyes again!" or "oh this made my day how happy I feel now!".

We have also had several customers who cried with joy when they saw themselves in the mirror after an eyebrow tattoo, e.g. people who have undergone chemotherapy or have alopecia. We have also had a customer who never went out without make-up because she had such complexes for her skin, but after her brow tattoo, she told us on the return visit that she was so happy with the whole that she could now start going out without make-up. So awesome that a little can do so much for one person!

The goal for most people is not to be model-looking or perfect, but such simple things as highlighting their eyes or framing their face with a pair of well-shaped eyebrows can do so much.

Beauty can obviously be negative as well
As I wrote at the beginning of the post, it is of course individual what beauty means to you. Many people would feel better looking less in the mirror and focusing less on their appearance. You can always find fault if you look for them.

Life does not become perfect just because you get completely symmetrical eyebrows"As my colleague Annika usually says;)

But not to underestimate beauty as a hobby, personal style or wellness - regardless of gender, age, profession, etc., I think it is very important for everyone to dare to look the way they want!

A thousand hugs to you!
