Autumn Makeup - Golden Brown (Step by Step)

I immediately jumped from being super-inspired by summer and bright colors to just wanting to use gloomy, warm tones and sooty eyes. Mums!

This look is a down-to-earth make-up in golden brown tones, which is enlivened with white and sharp lines. Fun mix I think :)

My business week!

This week has been a full roll with what I like most about the company - products, images and marketing!

Such creative that I love and am good at :)

Many such ideas have previously had to be prioritized away because the time has not been enough, but now we have come so far that we can spend more time on it. I'm so inspired right now! It creeps into my soul every morning because I just want to get started and work again!

Photographer
We always use photos we took ourselves on the website and in social media, and then it's me who jumps into the role of photographer! :)

This week I have, among other things, taken pictures for make-up consultation incl. products that are very popular to book in the fall.

Look how nice they turned out:

As well as a slightly different photography for a campaign we will have in October. Before Ida started with us, she worked with tattooing nipples and has done so for 8 years. Now she performs these treatments with us and for all wart pigmentation that is booked in October, we donate 10% to the Breast Cancer Foundation!

This is what the campaign will look like on our website later:

Sure it got cool! Free the nipple :) Our logo really fits into everything haha.

Trainees
We get a lot of inquiries about internships at the salon and also many who are looking for a job, which I think is incredibly honoring! That many customers want to come to us is honoring enough, but that many also see this as a good workplace they want to spend their days on, I think it's big!

Right now we have two interns from a stylist high school here in Uppsala. They go in one so they do not have much experience yet, but that's almost when it's the most fun because they get better and better at every single make - up they do so you can really follow the development.

It is not to be forgotten that Annika and I got to know each other when I had an internship at Creative Makeup about 7 years ago;)

Here I stand and give feedback on one of the make-up, refine to show improvements and give lots of tips!

Product meeting with glo Skin Beauty
gloMinerals has changed its name to glo Skin Beauty and comes with a lot of news! So this week I have had a meeting with them to see all the new products. They are so very nice now!

What's a little tricky is that I can not just think about what I am want in the range, but also what customers want to buy. And since gloMinerals has quite juicy prices, I have to think twice before I take home some news. It does not matter how good the stuff is if they will just stand on our storage shelves and collect dust…

But then their new eyeshadow palettes, so nice and pigment-rich! But would you put 500 on a palette with 4 eye shadows if you really, really like the colors?

Another news that I have, however, decided on if they pass testing á la Helena are gloMinerals new lip pencils! I have been looking for good lipsticks for our range for a very long time and tested a lot, but I am so sickly picky about lipsticks so… gloMinerals previous lipsticks what is not good at all in my opinion.

But now in connection with their new launch, they have changed the formula on the lipsticks, it will be so exciting to test! I tested them on my hand and they felt perfect and the colors are great. Glides easily on the skin when applied but becomes matte and incredibly durable when I rubbed my finger over it :) Have high expectations!

Here you see all the shades that I photographed a little quickly at the meeting, so nice!

Review the range
Speaking of which, we are reviewing our product range a bit. Both Pixi and gloMinerals remove some from their range, so it's a good time to do a little cleaning for space for new fresh news! But I have such a hard time with this, it almost feels like I'm running out of products haha.

Everything we have in the range is great, I am good and confident when it comes to product tests, but then comes step 2 - what sells and what the makeup artists want to work with and that is where the decision anxiety takes over.

Fortunately, we are several makeup artists who will work with the products that come with great feedback. I have made a document in Quip (a communication program we use) with suggestions for products to remove and products to take in as news, where they can write comments on each point. It's the worst chicken farm in that document now haha!

Other
We have also ordered new screens for our campaigns in the store, finular on a fun signage in the shop window, I have redesigned the structure in Beauty Guides posts on the website and divided them into "Products", "Get the look" and "Make-up tips" and will redo a lot of these later. And our annual report is also ready and must be sent in!

Yes you hear, very fun and creative this week! Now I will hurry up and fall asleep because tomorrow I will get up at 4 and work at a trade fair. But more about that in the next business-week post;) And you can always follow me on Insta Story on my Instargram @ imakeyousmile.se ♥

Review - Maybelline Anti-Age The Eraser Eye Concealer

It's been a while since I wrote a proper product review in the blog, which is because I lost the routines for it since I moved home the photo studio. But I'll get better at it! Because I think it's fun and I'm good at it and I know that many of you who read think it's both interesting and useful info! :)

Today I was going to write about the hyped product Maybelline Anti-Age The Eraser Eye Concealer (adlink) which I got a press sample from quite a long time ago and have had time to test it a lot!

What is Maybelline Anti-Age The Eraser Eye Concealer?

The product is a liquid concealer with pillow applicator that promises:

  • High coverage
  • Easy application
  • Durable result that does not get cakey or line up
  • Natural and smooth finish

It is designed for dark circles under the eyes, but many people use it for the rest of the face as well.

Formula
The formula is thin and yet very opaque, so you do not need much at all, which I like!

Application
You screw in the bottom of the package and there will be concealer up in the pillow. It comes quite sparingly, which I actually like, concealers that are made to dab directly on the skin often give too much color, so then I still use a separate brush, but this one can sort of "apply and fade out" with without needing more tools or fingers.

If you compare with a concealer that is applied with a separate brush, this is not the most hygienic package. But you use lip gloss and other products that are applied directly with an applicator on the skin, so you do not really see the difference.

Results
I like this one! I do not have super dark circles under the eyes as it is for, but think it covers nicely.

I personally use this mostly for quick coverage in the rest of the face. It is absolutely not a product I recommend to cover pimples, but for acne scars and flat almost healed blemishes as well as redness and such irregularities, it is very good.

What I like about it is that it is very easy to distribute over a large area. For example. I who have a lot of traces of old acne on the jawbones, then I can take this on almost the entire jaw part and get full coverage quickly, and on the new pimples I take another concealer over just.

I also like the finish, it is exactly as the product promises, smooth and even on the skin.

sustainability
If you take a lot of concealer under the eyes, you have to fix with powder to keep it in place. But that's what's good about such opaque products, you do not need a thick layer, and as long as you put a thin and work it into the skin (usually dab a little with your fingertip under the eyes) it stays in place very well .

I use the shade Light and it suits me very well!

Summary - I mainly think that it is good for quick coverage in large areas, such as acne scars and such spots. And be sure to wear the lid so that the pillow stays fresh! However, nothing I recommend for people who need a good concealer to cover new pimples. Under the eyes it also works well, but apply a thin layer! :)

Eyebrow plucking and dyeing before and after

Here are some of my recent transformations with brow picking and coloring that I did at my salon Creative Makeup in Uppsala! :)

Do you also want to book an appointment with us? We are several makeup artists and they are all equally talented! Book online here or call us on 018 10 50 13.

Here are some customers I fixed my eyebrows at during the summer:

Surely this result was super nice? :) So fun eyebrows to pick and I got to work a lot with the scissors as well which I think is fun.

In the afterimage, I have filled in a little with pencil and brow gel as well, with Pixi Natural Brow Duo in the shade Natural Brown.

Here you see the result before I filled in with makeup as well:

If you have such full eyebrows, you do not need much makeup at all to get a well-shaped eyebrow, but it still makes a huge difference :)

Here is a blog reader from Gothenburg who had the roads past Uppsala and took the opportunity to come to me and do eyebrow picking and color + lash color! Became such a big difference!

I have no role model for this brow, but we did brow pick, so they were dark before. So nice eyebrows !!

This customer had very sparse eyebrows but there was a lot of "fun" when we dyed so it became a very nice shape and she was so happy! Immediately after, there is a little color left on the skin so it looks a little made up on the outer edges but it is not. But the shape will be just as nice as soon as the color is released from the skin (kind of releases immediately when you wash your face properly 1-2 times).

Hope you were inspired!

Hug ♥
