My business week

This week has been incredibly mixed and above all very fun!

There has been a lot of work at the salon but also out on assignments and a lot of work from home, both in the evenings after the "regular job" but also all Friday when I got lots of cuts deleted from my to-do list.

Love that variety and would never want a monotonous job. This week I have had the best combination of the social, the creative and a lot of both brain and heart :)

Nanotechnology fair
I have started working a bit on the side with a company called Disruptive Materials that works with a completely new substance, Upsalite, which has extreme moisture and fat absorption capacity (as well as many other properties). They are now investigating the possibility of using these properties in cosmetics and that is where I come into the picture, as a makeup artist and consultant type you could say :)

On Monday, they exhibited at Nano Forum (a conference on nanotechnology) and were nominated (and won!) Nano Company of the Year 2017. I was on site and spruced up guests and made up with this material, so fun!

I also listened to the lecturers in the conference hall but understood zero to zero. Best place to be if you want to feel like the blunt ladle among all the sharp knives in the box;) I really tried to listen and understand what they said but I did not even understand the sentences or terms, you realize how complicated it is with nanotechnology?

But awesome anyway! I understood that they will cure cancer, get paralyzed to go again and somehow develop the technology type in cars and mobile phones. But I suggest you take my reflections with a pinch of salt;)

Above you see Maria Strömme, professor of nanotechnology who invented Upsalite, who gave a presentation at the conference. So inspiring person! It was because she and I "found each other" that I became involved in the project.

New screens in the salon!
As I have mentioned in previous business week posts, I work a lot with our new campaign structure. Or new and new, we have not had any structure on this at all before haha.

Every month we have 4 pictures we will promote during the month. The pictures will be the first thing you see when you enter the website or into the salon, and scroll in our shop window and also publish on our Instagram and Facebook.

All week I have worked with making all the pictures, it will be like 4 different sizes and formats, so 4 pictures will be a total of 16 pictures to be made. It will surely go smoothly when I get into it and have all the templates ready but now for the first time it has taken me hours!

But nuuu, all the pictures for October are ready and up and running in all places except social media where they will be published 1 picture a week during the month.

This is how nice our new screen in the store is:

58 inches large and very nice resolution in the screen, we are so happy!

We also bought a screen for the shop window that will withstand sunlight, both the heat and that you should see the screen clearly when it is bright outside. But we have some settings to look at because it is currently not so bright at all that you can see the screen clearly when you stand outside the window in the middle of the day. Really hope it can be set!

This screen investment cost around SEK 40,000, so you really want both screens to be visible properly.

But fine huh? :) The screen is directly when you enter the salon, and the one in the shop window is directed towards one of Uppsala's most populated bus stops, so good!

Spicy atmosphere at our morning meeting
Every other Thursday, the entire salon has a meeting in the morning with a common to-do list that is checked by each meeting at the same time as new improvement points are listed.

Now that the autumn darkness and gray days are starting to take over, there has been a bit of a mixed energy level, which I was given the responsibility to change until the next meeting. We talked a bit like health drinks or something nice to liven up with instead of "just come in and sit down" but I moved on and when everyone came into the staff room in the morning, they were met by this:

Party music, disco lamp, champagne glass with vitamin drink (mixed with loka for bubbles) and a Helena in a party bubble and gold glitter heels!

Answer yes they were surprised, and happy :) So there at. 9 and Thursday haha.

Now I will be off work all Sunday and get things done at home. We have started with the continuation of the renovation in the house, so now it is time for the carpenter's trousers to apply.

Wishing you a fantastic Sunday! ♥

Video - Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal

If you just look Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal when it's on the store shelf, it does not look like much to the world, but when you understand what a small smart miracle tube this is, you get stuck!

Especially if you prefer a morning routine that goes quickly and easily with many properties in the same product :) you who recognize yourself in it should take an extra look.

What is Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal?
A real multitask product! A tube of colored day cream and a concealer inside the cork, which gives a natural and light semi-covering base all over the face and then you can easily cover small areas with the concealer.

Because even if you have blemishes or difficult-to-cover areas, you do not need a comprehensive foundation for the entire face if you have a fairly even skin tone overall, but you get a much more natural result if you only cover the areas that are needed.

Characteristics:

  • Day cream - Incredibly moisturizing
  • Sun protection factor - Contains spf 20
  • Highlighter - Thanks to light-reflecting pigments, it makes the skin radiate!
  • Lightweight foundation - Provides a natural and light coverage
  • Concealer - Conjures away dark circles under the eyes, blemishes and other irregularities.

The colored day cream contains, among other things:

  • Ginseng extract - Has anti-aging properties and evens out skin tone.
  • Ginkgo extract - Anti-inflammatory, soothing and reduces redness of the skin.
  • Roman Chamomile Extract - Anti-inflammatory, wound healing and soothing.
  • Kamelia oleifera extract - Moisturizes the skin and softens it.

The concealer contains aloe vera, Vitamin E and Vitamin C, which nourish and moisturize the skin.

If you unscrew the cap, it is an ordinary tube package with colored, lustrous day cream that provides a very light coverage. And in the cap you unscrewed, there is a concealer that you can easily dab on areas that need more coverage. Super smart!

Here you see all three shades, Light-Bare-Nude, both on the colored day cream and on the concealer next to it!

Choice of shade
The concealer is a little lighter than the cream, which is good because then you can use it to both cover irregularities and to lighten up dark areas. I would therefore recommend choosing the lighter shade if you have difficulty choosing between two pieces.

Otherwise, the colored day cream adapts very well to your skin tone as the coverage is quite weak, so it does not have to be exactly on the dot.

People with light skin tone should choose the shade Light Glow.
If you have fair skin, but are not in the pale direction at all, Bare Glow is good.
If you have a darker skin tone or are basically light but tanned, Nude Glow is good.

Unfortunately there are no shades for dark-skinned, I have been to Pixi about this…

Here you see the result step by step on my cheek, first unmade up, then with the day cream and finally the pimples are conjured away with the concealer as well.

There is not much to think about before using the product, but I get a lot of questions about the use around makeup that I thought I would answer now!

It's a colored day cream, do I need a day cream then?
If you just want a soothing and moisturizing day cream (properties that everyone needs), Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal is enough, but it is not available for different skin types, so if you want to treat the skin with a more focused skin care (e.g. against acne) so you should have a day cream underneath before using this. Then you can see this as a semi-comprehensive caring foundation.

Can I use it as a night cream?
I would not recommend it as a night cream, as it contains spf and it should not be worn on the face around the clock.

Does it work for all skin types?
Yes, I have oily skin and do not notice that the skin becomes more oily from it. But I then supplement with other degrading products as it also does not have degrading properties. But it is moisturizing and gentle and is suitable for dry, sensitive, normal and oily skin.

If you are oily, on the other hand, you may think that you look extra shiny after a few hours when you have both luster and oil on your face (applies to all lustrous products, not just this one) so you can include that in the calculations. If you are looking for a full matte cashmere skin, this is not for you. But as long as you have degrading products and possibly. matte the skin during the day so there are no problems.

Can you have face primer underneath?
Yep! As long as it is not a primer that clogs the pores (because then the caring properties do not go down into the skin) although you should never have it so it is not strange. I usually use Pixi Flawless & Poreless Primer underneath, and then matting powder over so I get a base that stays matte and nice.

How to apply the day cream?
I usually apply just like when I use a regular day cream, with my fingers and lubricate the whole face. If I do on customers, however, I use foundation brush and it works well too.

How to apply the concealer?
Dab directly with the concealer ball on the area you want to cover, and spread the color by dabbing out the concealer lightly with your fingertip. Can also be used with a brush if desired.

Should you apply the cream or concealer first?
It's a matter of taste, but I usually apply the cream first and the concealer later. Then you can more easily see what needs to be covered and how much concealer you need. In addition, it is easy to "lubricate" the concealer when applying the day cream, if the concealer is already applied then.

And then you can finish with your usual makeup! But just this product is enough too, if you want to look unmade up (but rudely fresh) because because it becomes so natural, it does not look kinky - as it can do if you just put a full-covering foundation all over your face and then nothing more at all.

Do you need to fix with powder afterwards?
No, it is not necessary, but I usually do it if you either want a slightly duller result, or if you have oily skin because then I apply powder for prevention.

If you have a lot of concealer in a larger area (if you have many pimples close to each other, for example), I usually fix right there with a little powder. But otherwise you get a lasting result that is nice all day without fixing with more makeup.

If you cover the skin more than this, you can usually look a little flat on the face, then you need contouring, blush, eyebrows, etc. to not look like a "ghost". But with this base from Pixi, you end up right at a border, I think, that you are super nice even if you stop wearing makeup here and do nothing more at all. Unmade make-up!

Hope you find the post inspiring.

Rosa Bandet & Vårtgård pigmentation

In October, we have a Pink Bandet campaign at Creative Makeup - for everyone who books in spring yard pigmentation during this pink month, we donate 10% to the Breast Cancer Foundation!

Ida is tattooing nipples at Creative Makeup in Uppsala and she has 8 years of experience! That was what she worked on before she started with us. Now that she has started with permanent makeup, Ida feels that she has also developed in the backyard tattoo as she has gained more knowledge, learned new techniques and works with really good materials and tools.

You who are interested can read more about the treatment here!

The most common is to tattoo the nipples after surgery, but healthy breasts can also be tattooed, if you e.g. want to adjust shape, symmetry or similar. It is also possible to fill in old warts' pigmentation.

You always come to a consultation before we book wartyard pigmentation. This is free of charge and can be booked online or by phone. The tattoo itself can therefore not be booked online, but we do it after you have been to a consultation.

For long-distance customers, it is possible to arrange a consultation via email / telephone and photos.

The price is SEK 5,000 and then includes a return visit where we tattoo more if needed.

Get in touch if you have any questions, you can either email info@creativemakeup.se or call us on 018 10 50 13. And you can make an appointment for a consultation online at Creativemakeup.se.

Hug you and FREE THE NIPPLE! :) ♥

Vanilla Chocolate Eyeliner (Step by Step Makeup)

The darkest shade in the trio shade Vanilla Chocolate from Paese is so heavenly nice I think! I use this palette often on people with cold tones, and the dark color is kind of a mixture of gray, brown and purple.

Now I tried to mix it with Kryolan Cake Liner Sealer to make it an eyeliner, and it turned out really nice! The purple pigments came out much more and the eyeliner got a radiant glow.

Perfect everyday look!

Bassmink:
Face primer - Pixi Flawless & poreless primer
Foundation - gloMinerals Pressed Base Foundation (Golden Medium)
Concealer -gloMinerals under eye concealer (Beige)
Powders for redness - gloMinerals Redness Relief Powder
Contouring & highlighter - Pixi Contour Creator
Rouge - gloMinerals Blush (Papaya)
Fixing mist - Pixi makeup fixing mist
Net matting powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Brynpenna - gloMinerals Micro Brow Liner (Ash and Dark brown)

Lips - Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm (Ripe Raspberry) and then I have "bitten off" a part on a napkin so as not to have as much color in the middle of the lips. Became nice!

What do you think? :)

If you have a lot of wrinkles on the eyelid, you should perhaps consider a matte eye shadow as eyeliner instead, this one with luster highlighted lines very much on my eyes as well. Nothing I bothered with at all in reality though but I see that it can be seen quite a lot in the picture.

The eyeliner is thus Paese Opal Trio Eyeshadow (Vanilla chocolate) mixed with Kryolan Cake Liner Sealer

  1. Eyeshadow primer + powder over it, Pixi eye bright primer
  2. Eyeliner on the entire lash line
  3. Paint the lower edge of the eyeliner wing
  4. Fill in the rest of the eyeliner
  5. The brightest color in the trio shadow in the innermost part of the eyelid and corner of the eye, and the middle color in the middle of the eyelid. Swept on these a little lightly with the brush for a discreet effect.
  6. Darkest color along the lower lash line and a little along the globe line
Black eyeshadow slightly along the lower lash line and in the lower part of the eyeliner
The lightest shade slightly under the eyeliner wing
  7. Black mascara on all lashes, Magnetic lash mascara

Clear!

I like this type of makeup that is a little extra creative and special but still bright and nothing that stands out. Fits just about any outfit and any occasion!

Hope you also liked the look :)

Hug!

Conference make-up

I wore this make-up when I worked at a Nanotechnology conference last Monday (answer yes I stood out in the crowd among all professors and researchers haha).

The eyes sparkled more in reality, which is barely visible at all in my pictures, when you only have a little glitter, it looks like gravel in photos so I usually only have it when I have to do something special in reality and not "just for the blog" :)

I got up at 4 in the morning and wanted a make-up that is so advanced and outstanding that it seems that I am not an amateur, while I did not have all the time in the world and mainly would promote basic makeup actually.

Here's the result - a colorful make-up with a little smoky and dark at the edges to tone down the bright little. I think it turned out very nice, I hope you think so too!

Bassmink:
Face primer - Pixi Flawless & poreless primer
Foundation - gloMinerals Pressed Base Foundation (Golden Medium)
Concealer -gloMinerals under eye concealer (Beige)
Powders for redness - gloMinerals Redness Relief Powder
Contouring & highlighter - Pixi Contour Creator
Rouge - gloMinerals Blush (Papaya)
Fixing mist - Pixi makeup fixing mist
Net matting powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Brynpenna - gloMinerals Micro Brow Liner (Ash and Dark brown)

Lips - Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm (Ripe Raspberry)

What do you think? :) I love the combination of pink and yellow, so nice!

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
Yellow eye shadow innermost on the eyelid, Paese Neo Eyeshadow (662)
  2. Pink eyeshadowa at the end of the eyelid, Paese Neo Eyeshadow (650)
  3. Light purple eye shadow between the yellow and the pink, Paese Neo Eyeshadow (654)
  4. Red eye shadow at the end of the eyelid and a little along the globe line, Paese Neo Eyeshadow (664)
  5. Brown eye shadow at the end of the eyelid, along the globe line and along the lower lash line, Paese Opal Trio Eyeshadow (Caffe latte)
  6. Black eye shadow on the brown for darker and sharper effect, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (602)
White eye shadow in the corner of the eye and below the sharp globe line for greater contrast, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (601)
Black eyeliner with wing, Kryolan HD Cream Liner (Ebony)
