Eyebrow pick, party makeup & hair styling (Makeup 50+)

Yesterday I made up Miska's mother who was going to go to festivities! I have made her up many times so you who are not new readers of the blog probably recognize her from previous posts.

I got free hands so it was brow picking, a little more base makeup than we usually do, eyeliner with wing and wavy hair. How nice!

I have used these products:

BASE:

Face primer - Pixi Flawless & poreless
Concealer - gloMinerals Under eye concealer (Golden)
Foundation - gloMinerals Pressed Base Foundation (Honey Light)
Contouring & highlighter - Pixi Book of beauty contour creator
Rouge - gloMinerals Blush (Sandalwood)
Fixing mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

Description:

  1. Massage the primer into the entire face, it fills in pores and irregularities.
  2. Apply concealer under the eyes and a little on the cheeks.
  3. Mineral foundation all over the face, many people are afraid of powder products when they have wrinkles, but if you have moisturized skin and work the foundation properly, it will not be as dry and emphasize lines as many people think. I used Nanshy Buffed Base Brush.
  4. Apply contouring and blush for more shape and life on the face.
  5. Spray fixing mist all over the face, it causes all powder products to melt into the skin and the skin looks more like skin even though it is very matte products.

EYEBROW:

Eyebrow pencil and brow gel - Pixi natural brow duo (Deep brunette)

As I said, the eyebrows were picked first and then I filled in with eyebrow pencil and brow gel.

EYES:

Eyeshadow Primer - Pixi eye bright primer
Light, beige and brown eye shadow - Paese Matte Trio Eyeshadow (103)
White eye shadow - Paese cashmere eyeshadow (601)
Light eyeliner along the waterline - gloMinerals Eye Pencil (Peach)
Eyeliner with wing– Kryolan HD Cream Liner (Ebony)
Mascara - Magnetic lash mascara

Description:

  1. Start with primer for a pigment-rich and lasting result.
  2. Apply light eye shadow on the inside of the eyelid
  3. Beige eye shadow in the middle of the eyelid
  4. Brown eyeshadow at the end of the eyelid and along the globe line
  5. White eye shadow in the corner of the eye
  6. Make lashliner and eyeliner with wing
  7. Light up the waterline with a light eyeliner
  8. Finish with mascara, we just put on the lashes for a more lifting effect on the eye.

Eyeliner with wing is not very simple when you do not have completely smooth eyelids. But her eyes still have quite a lot of space so it went relatively easily anyway :)

LIPS:

Lipstick -  Benecos Natural Lip Liner (Brown) all over the lips

This pen is soft and barely feels on the lips at all. The shade is a nice "lip color" that disappears in a discreet way if you do not improve during the day.

The hair is curled with a huge pair of pliers HH Simonsen 360 ° ROD VS5 Deep Waver (Adlink) which I can really recommend, super good! Have had it for several years now after I received it as a thank-you-for-help gift from a friend :)

So fine!

She had a really frugal fringe, it was very difficult to get it to lie well, anyone have any tips? I flattened it, sprayed with a heavy hair spray and then I blow-dried the hair spray while I pressed down the fringe with my hand. Then it went! :)

But you look at the role model, so the fringe is when she had just showered and done nothing more, really wants to lay aside.

Really fun makeover to do! Hope you were inspired ♥

Eyeliner tutorial - How to apply eyeliner?

How to apply eyeliner? When you make a very wide eyeliner, I like to have a product that is easy to "build on" an eyeliner with. So no liquid razor sharp where you kind of have a chance to get it even, but one where you can put a little at a time and sort of work it out.

Then I recommend Kryolan HD Cream Liner!

It is a cream eyeliner that glides easily on the skin and is easy to vary to both sharp and smoky eyeliners.

A wide eyeliner wing is so beautiful! And with a little light eye shadow in the corner of the eye that brightens up, you do not need much more :)

Eyeliner tutorial - How to apply eyeliner?

The eyeliner I have used is thus Kryolan HD Cream Liner in the shade Ebony.

Start with eye shadow primer and powder before applying a broad eyeliner! Because even if you have a waterproof and durable eyeliner, it will start to discolour if you have oily eyelids and blink with such a wide eyeliner wing.

  1. Paint the underside of the eyeliner wing from the outer corner of the eye and outwards
  2. Paint along the entire lash line as wide as you want the eyeliner
  3. Continue with the eyeliner towards the tip of the eyeliner wing you painted in step 1
  4. Fill the void in the eyeliner wing
  5. Light silvery eye shadow in the corner of the eye, Paese Opal Eyeshadow (Ice queen)
Black mascara on the upper lashes and the outer lower lashes, Magnetic lash mascara

Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque (Test & Review)

I have received a press sample of products from Dermalogica and the product I was most eager to test directly is their face mask Charcoal Rescue Masque (adlink) with activated carbon!

Activated carbon removes impurities, old skin cells and sebum from the skin and the face mask is exfoliating and deep cleansing. Just what my skin needs :)

What is Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque?
The face mask not only contains activated carbon but is clay-based and contains a lot of caring ingredients:

  • Volcanic ash, Marine clay and Bamboo that removes old skin cells, which gives the skin more radiance
  • Vitamin B3 which soothes the skin and makes it less red
  • Sulfur that has an exfoliating effect
  • AHA acid that increases cell renewal and exfoliates
  • Chilean wild mint that refines the pores and skin structure

A real detox cure simply!

It should suit most skin types and is not just for oily skin, which I think is good as I have oily and impure skin but at the same time sensitive.

The texture is quite similar to regular clay masks, creamy and just over!

How is the mask used?
Start by cleansing the skin. I apply the mask all over my face, but if you have minor problem areas, you can just put it there as well. When you have deep cleansing face masks, I always wash the skin a little extra long with warm water before so that the skin is warm and soft when the mask is applied.

Then the face mask should work for 7-10 minutes. I do not take time but rinse it off as soon as it dries.

How often should you use the mask?
If necessary / max 4 times a week.

Feeling
Immediately when you put the mask on the skin, you feel that it is quite active, it kind of irritates a little and you feel that the skin works. The first time I thought it felt more than now when I have used it a few times.

The mask starts to dry quite quickly. There are dry clay masks and then there are toorrrrrra clay masks and this is the latter haha. The skin gets so tight! Really no mask I put go and walk around and clean the house in but this one I wash off as soon as I can only when it has dried.

Type all clay masks feel dry and itchy on the skin when they have dried, but this one is out of the ordinary. It almost feels like it has decreased in size and makes the whole skin tighten like a porcelain doll.

I have also tried adding serum or a thin oil before just because I hate when the skin feels tight, but I felt no difference. But it should not be on the skin for that long either, so it is not the case that you suffer immediately :)

Results
The skin looks and feels much cleaner immediately!

Afterwards I feel that I have to apply a really oily face mask just because the skin feels a little stiff. But after a moisturizing face mask afterwards and then serum, oil and moisturizer, the skin is so clean and so smooth and soft :)

Summary - The mask keeps its promise, the skin becomes clean and exfoliated! I use it 1-2 times a week. It feels active and becomes tight on the skin as soon as it dries (about 5-10 min) so it is not a mask you snuggle around for a long time just because it is wonderful. There is nothing to complain about, highly recommended!

It costs SEK 499 and is available at, among other places here (adlink).

Any of you who have tested this and what do you think? :)

Turquoise eyeliner

This weekend, my sister and I talked about the fact that I often get subconsciously inspired by things when I put on my make-up, that I can often only realize when I have finished my make-up that I have matched with my slippers or something lying next to me.

And this make-up is a clear example of this, because I sat and put on make-up in my cozy turquoise one piece jumpsuit and looked like a little Teletubbie when I suddenly finish the make-up and realize that my eyes are super bright in exactly the same color haha .

But I like it!

Bassmink:
Face primer - Pixi Flawless & poreless primer
Foundation -  Yag Mineral Foundation (Soft Latte)
Concealer -gloMinerals under eye concealer (Beige)
Powders for redness - gloMinerals Redness Relief Powder
Contouring & highlighter - Pixi Contour Creator
Rouge - gloMinerals Blush (Papaya)
Fixing mist - Pixi makeup fixing mist
Net matting powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Brynpenna - gloMinerals Micro Brow Liner (Ash and Dark brown)

Lips - gloMinerals Lipstick (Snapdragon)

I like that it is exactly the same color on the underside and the top but the underside is faded and the top is sharp.

  1. Turquoise eye shadow along the lower lash line,  Paese Neo Eyeshadow (687)
  2. Fade the turquoise eye shadow with Nanshy Pencil Brush
Light eye shadow at the bottom of the lower lash line, Paese Opal Eyeshadow trio (Vanilla Chocolate)
  3. Turquoise eyeliner on half the lash line and as an eyeliner wing, the same eye shadow as before, although I have mixed it with Kryolan Cake Liner Sealer
  4. Light eyeliner on the rest of the lash line, the same light eye shadow as before, although I have mixed it with Kryolan Cake Liner Sealer
  5. Black eye shadow at the end of the lower lash line and under the wing and as a small spike in the corner of the eye, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (602)
Light eye shadow in the corner of the eye, Paese Kashmir eyeshadow (601)
  6. Black mascara on all lashes, Magnetic lash mascara
