Silicones in make-up products

The media is usually very good, when bad things are noticed, etc. But one must not forget that the media writes things to sell, and very often there is scare news where all circumstances are not always mentioned.

Therefore, many ingredients have suffered from this, e.g. parabens that many products write that they do not use. It says "free of parabens" on many products, but it says nothing about the ingredients that have been used instead.

The same negative tone has silicones got, and it is for that yes there are bad, cheap silicones that you should not wear on the skin! But yesterday at the airbrush training, I learned the big difference between silicones and silicones, and that there are as many different types of silicones as possible.

I thought I would bring this up with you in a post, I start from what I learned in the education (it's a whole jungle with info!) And then you get to create your own opinion :)

A picture from the training, the bottle contains the silicone Cyclopentasiloxane which looks like ordinary water!

Two of the most common silicones in cosmetics are Cyclopentasiloxane and Dimethicone, which are often used together. Dimethicone is commonly described as clogging the pores, but There are different forms of Dimethicone, and not everyone does!

Cyclopentasiloxane even evaporates from the skin and has disappeared completely after about 14 hours, so you have e.g. a silicone-based foundation so you do not need any powder left over because there is like nothing that needs to be fixed. Powder is then only used on oily skin to soak up excess oil.

Positive properties with (good) silicones:
* They retain moisture in the skin while the skin breathes, and are therefore often used together with moisturizing ingredients for a moisturizing result.
* It withstands both heat and moisture well, which means that the makeup stays well in most environments, even when it is hot, and you can even swim with it (not super long).
* Silicones do not react with the skin, and that is why it is also used for medical purposes such as. on burns and implants.

* They are incredibly effective in basic make-up and make the skin silky smooth, fill in wrinkles and give a lasting result.

Do not misunderstand my post now, I advocate natural (and organic) ingredients and use it myself as much as possible. But I also do not conclude that "everything natural is good, and everything synthetic is badBut always try to think one step further.

Conclusion - There are bad silicones that you should avoid, and there are silicones that do nothing negative for the skin at all but only contribute with positive properties! This is a jungle, so choose products based on your own common sense and not because of everything you hear and read. I use skin and hair care without silicones, but my face primer that I have used for more than a year now, it is silicone based and the savior in need of my skin! :)

And do you know what I found out the other day when I met a super nice guy who works with manufacturing Aco's products? Next year, it will be forbidden to market yourself by telling what the products do not contain, so you can only write about ingredients that are in the product, which I think is great!

Then consumers do not have to be fooled that "this product is good because it does not contain it, and this and that" without knowing all the shit that it actually contains. Good, is not it? :)

Airbrush training

0

Hello!

It's already half past twelve and I'm still sitting in soft pants and drinking coffee. I took a nap until 9 this morning and have since taken back all emails, orders and the like that I did not have time for yesterday when I was in Stockholm all day!

I was so strangely tired yesterday, as if I never fully woke up and at the end of the day I went on "survival energy" haha. Wondering if I'm getting sick maybe. But I do not have time for that :)

But the day was incredibly successful anyway! I had Frida with me as a model in the airbrush training, so I had company from morning to evening and even on the road. There were a number of overtired laughter attacks on the train home I can say;)

My first base (foundation & concealer) completely made with airbrush! She got a little made up haha, but it's not as easy as it looks when you test for the first time.

But the principle is extremely simple so you learn quickly and once you have mastered the technology, it will be super quick to do make-up, especially when you do a make-up job as a makeup artist where you often have several people who will be ready in a short time :)

After the training we just had time to eat some food and then it was time for a kind of meeting / mingling thing with Blogfame where I met several interesting advertisers!

I love when companies realize the value of marketing in bloggers, the word "blogger" often has a negative connotation in many but I see no major difference between a blog and a magazine. In addition to blogs having even more positive to give (at least my blog) that is more personal, 100% honest and answers questions unlike a magazine. Or what do you say? :)

Now I'm going to grab myself by the collar, turn on the Friday pod and try to airbrush myself for the first time!

Today's make - up is a sooty, dark brown New Year's make - up that I have done with Paese Diamond Eyeshadow in shade 18, it is so nice!

Unfortunately I do not have time to write in more detail about the make-up at the moment, because I am in Stockholm all day, but if you have any questions, just shout out and I will answer tomorrow :)

Kiss on is!

NYX Wonder Pencil

I want to tell you about a product that I have started to use a lot, and it is NYX Wonder Pencil which is a light eyeliner pen that has several different uses.

I use it mainly as a highlighter, because you can easily create sharp lines while it lights up nicely and it is perfect when you want to emphasize both eyebrows and lips!

The lips are highlighted more and look more plump, and the eyebrows get a clearer and cleaner shape.

The pen has a light and creamy texture that is easy to fade out, costs SEK 65 HERE

Here is a pre-image before the pen!

Paint with the pencil on the sides of the lips and under the eyebrows.

Fade the edges.

Add a little foundation to the fade if the color becomes too light, and finish with a nice lip color!

This is how nice it will be with nude-colored lips too!

Green eyeliner - Green eyeliner look

My idea with today's make-up was that it would be a Christmas make-up with discreet green eyes and blood-red lips, so nice!

But then I did not find the green mascara that I would use, it must be at home with my mother, so I decided to make it a little more fun everyday makeup instead :)

I was so eager to make an eyeliner with a wing with Yves Rocher's green eyeliner, that color is so nice!

The lips are a nude-colored lipstick mixed with a little red lipstick for a darker shade. I have used Paese Lipstick with argan oil in shades 17 and 44.

Green eyeliner with wing, Yves Rocher waterproof eyeliner (03 Vert)
Light eye shadow in the corner of the eye and under the brow, Annika's Favorite Shadow.
Black mascara on the upper lashes, Golden Rose Miracle Lash Mascara.

Tip! It can be difficult to get a nice tip on the eyeliner wing with a eyeliner that is screwed up because you do not get that freshly sharpened tip that a regular pen has. But then keep it at an angle and draw a few lines with it on a piece of paper first, so that the cape is skewed as on a new lipstick, and you get a sharp edge that is easy to paint with!

Hope you like the look! And as I said, I can really recommend supplementing with a green mascara for that little extra! I usually use Make Up Store Colored Mascara in the color Green, it would be super nice for this make-up :)

Now I have raped at my mother's house (who works hihi) and fired so that there is plenty of hot water, and soon when Miska comes home I will call him here and surprise him with a hot bath! How wonderful!

I have brought home some "spa stuff" to try, so you can say that I work even though I am in the bath haha.

It will be a long day tomorrow, with airbrush training and then a type of event gear right after that. My bus leaves at 06.00 and I arrive home late! So I have to treat myself to a quiet bathing moment so that I am ready for the intense tomorrow. It is important :)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hugs are!
