Makeup for beginners

I often get questions from people who are complete beginners in makeup but who have become more and more interested and want to buy a little home and experiment. What is most important and how to proceed?

Here are some tips on both products and thinking about this, how I would have done and thought if I had been in that situation but with the same knowledge that I possess today :)

Tip 1 - Buy products with multiple functions

There are some products that you can use for several things, which makes it easier when you go shopping, when you put on make-up and when you have to pay;)

* If you do not have very problematic skin, a good mineral foundation will make you cope without both concealer and powder.
* Bronzer as eye shadow.
* Rouge as eye shadow.
* Eye shadow as eyebrow shadow.
* I would undoubtedly have invested in an eyeshadow palette instead of occasional eyeshadows! Either a big one or a small one depending on how much you want to experiment on that front.
* Kajal pen with a fading tool on top, or pencil sharpener in the lid!
* Keep this in mind when choosing makeup brushes, if you choose between two pieces, choose the one you think you will be able to use for something more. For example, an oblique brow brush works gallantly to apply eye shadow along the lower lash line as well.

Tip 2 - Budget vs. Quality

There are some products that I would prioritize to buy of quality, while one can prioritize low price over others.

Quality - Foundation, concealer, powder, mascara, eye shadow primer, lip makeup, eyeliner.
Budget - Eyeshadows, blush, sun powder, makeup brushes.

In short… Products you have all over your face that work into the skin, products that affect durability, products that rarely last a whole day if you do not buy quality - such products you should not be too stingy with when you shop. But if you have a good base, you can indulge in cheap stuff when it comes to eye shadows and such products that only give a little extra color to the face.

Makeup brushes are also on a budget, while you are in the beginner phase, you do not need brushes that will last for 10 years, but it is better to buy several cheap ones at home, try them out and see which varieties you like the most. If you continue to put on a lot of make-up, you can invest in better make-up and then brush when you know what you will use a lot!

To make it easier for you, everything on the budget side comes from the same business - H&M. Same thing on the quality side, everything comes from creativemakeup.se in addition to the eye shadow primer which is from Lumene.

Tip 3 - Do not make it too cumbersome

Finally, do not make it so cumbersome for yourself, makeup should be fun! Buy some stuff you think works well and test yourself, do not listen to all the rules and treat yourself to a long time in front of the mirror :)

Slowly but surely, new products are coming to the webshop, and now it's time to welcome a new Sanctum product! :)

LCC nail polish

Today I have freshly varnished nails with Löwengrip Care & Colors' new nail polish in the colors Achieve and Aptitude, a pale pink and a darker rather "soft" pink color.

I mixed them on a little different nails, I think super nice and am super happy with the result! :)

Aptitude - "Giftedness and knowledge is not something created overnight, it is something that you have in you. When in doubt, paint helps you pick out your strengths. ” Aptitude is the pale pink color and is super nice now in the summer when you have become a little tan, which I am not in itself, but the sister was here recently and tested it and it was great on her :)

Achieve- “You can achieve what you want. All your goals can be realized. Let this varnish remind you of that. ” My favorite is the shade Achieve, it is as I said quite soft pink, so not bright at all but discreet at the same time as it is colorful. Me like!

I like the inspiring lyrics and the thoughtful names! I do not know if it works in practice, that you remember what the color you are wearing stands for, etc., but such sentences you need to hear often and also it is fun with some unique names that enliven life :)

I love everything that belongs to the application with these varnishes! The texture is perfectly thin without becoming runny, the brush is reasonably wide and is very easy to work with, in addition, the varnish is self-leveling, which means that it is even over the nail even if you have accidentally applied it a little unevenly.

The varnish is not completely opaque at the first coat, but that is probably the point as the result is incredibly fine and natural after only one coat. It depends on what effect you are looking for. A layer is perfect if you naturally have very nice nails that you just want to spruce up with a nice "glowig" shade while your own nail shines through. Aptitude is less comprehensive than Achieve. I have two coats of Achieve and three coats of Aptitude on my nails to cover my yellow salon nails underneath.

The only negative is that it takes a while for the varnish to dry, both with one coat and if you apply more. It gets dust dry quickly but there are marks in it for quite some time.

The packaging with its rounded shapes is great I think! Simple but stylish.

This is the description on the website (the parentheses are my own opinions):

- Free from DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde.
- Super gloss and quick drying. (Very nice gloss, but not very quick-drying compared to many other varnishes.)
- Long shelf life. (Have not put this to the test yet, may return after I have had it for a while!)
- Easy to apply, the consistency works together with the brush and makes the surface self-leveling! (Yes this was incredibly good, thumbs up!)

Waterclouds shampoo & hairmask (Review)

The other day, both me and Miska tested Waterclouds shampoo and hair wrap while we took a hot bath, so cozy to do it together even though it's a bit crowded :)

I got these home in a press release and have a little hard to understand why the conditioner was not included, and it says in the shampoo description that you should finish with the hair wrap for best results. But do you know that you should also have conditioner even on the days you do wrapping? :) The shampoo opens the strands, wrapping takes care of the depth and conditioner closes the hair again. So you should finish with conditioner anyway.

Shampoo Repair:
“A mild and gentle shampoo for dry and damaged hair. With ingredients like macadamia oil,
cloudberry oil and sea minerals deeply moisturize Repair Shampoo and make the hair soft and
compliant without weighing it down. ”

Award: 146 kr
Instructions: Wet hair, shampoo and rinse. For better effect finish with Repair Hairmask.
Active ingredients: Cloudberry seed oil, Macadamia nut oil, Sea care, Sea minerals.

My opinion: The shampoo smells fresh and good and foams well in the hair.

Hairmask Repair:
“A hair mask for dry and damaged hair that makes the hair soft and supple without weighing it down.
With the help of macadamia oil and cloudberry oil, the mask moisturizes both hair and scalp as well
contributes to a smooth hair with a lot of luster. Waterclouds Repair Hairmask also contains
Decavital B5 / Provitamin B5 which binds moisture and protects the hair from drying out. ”

Instructions: Wet the hair, massage in and let sit for 5min, rinse out.
Active ingredients: Dekavital B5 / provitamin B5 Cloudberry seed oil, Macadamia nut oil, Sea care, Sea minerals.
Tip: Heat increases the effect
Award: 167 kr

My opinion: Smells fresh and gone and is easy to work into the hair. The texture is creamy and delicious.

End result:
I: Actually, I think you have to use certain hair products for a long time to get good results, and this can be such a mark as I did not notice any major wow feeling on my hair despite all the good ingredients. On the other hand, I compare with Sanctum which I use otherwise which I really love, so it may be that the freshly showered feeling in the hair did not feel special because I am used to the best :) But absolutely the hair was soft and smooth, I have nothing negative to say!

Miska: Miska actually experienced that the hair felt dry afterwards. It may be that the sulfates in the shampoo gave that result as I have read that it can be quite dehydrating (note I am not very well versed in this subject yet). I thought it could be that his hair is used to silicones and then the hair can feel dry at first if you do not use it. But I now read that the products contain both sulfates and silicones so that can not be the problem. The products simply did not suit his hair.

Now I have tested both shampoo, hair wrap, conditioner spray and hair oil from Waterclouds and can say that the only thing I really loved is the hair oil, but that everything is good except the conditioner spray which I did not like at all.

Have you read about silicones and such substances? I myself only know that there is a big difference between silicones and silicones, cheap brands use "bad silicones" that can not be washed off but good brands contain fine silicones that you do not have to worry about. How well-educated are you? Do you have any info to contribute? :)

Today's make-up is a colorful make-up in the colors of the rainbow!

It is actually very easy to make, I have not put together the step-by-step pictures yet but it will be published on Modernmom.se later today :) Keep an eye out there!

These colors out 40 palette have I used!

The lips are Paese Manifesto Liquid Lipstick in shade 904.

Yellow eye shadow In the corner of the eye.
Green eye shadow deepest on the eyelid.
Light blue eye shadow next to the green.
Blue eye shadow in the middle of the eyelid.
Purple eye shadow next to the blue.
Purple pink eye shadow next to the purple.
Pink eye shadow at the end of the eyelid.
White eyeliner along the waterline, Paese Eye Pencil White.
Black eyeliner with wing, Paese Penliner.
Black mascara on all lashes, Paese Adore 3D Lash Mascara.
