I have received many questions regarding tan without sun / BUS, therefore I have now made a post with all questions & answers about just this. Also throws in some brown without sun tips!

My previous post focuses more on the products I use and how I do when I apply. You can read it in its entirety here: Ida Warg products + review.

It was after that post that all the questions appeared in the inbox, which I will answer now! :)

1. How to do?

How do you really use tan without sun? BUS is most easily applied with a "tanning mitt", I have made a larger post about how I apply BUS which you can find here: How to apply tan without sun?

In that post, I also go through these questions:

  • Should you scrub the skin before tanning without sun?
  • How to apply tan without sun in the armpits?
  • How to apply tan without sun on the hands and feet?
  • How to get rid of tan without sun?

As well as clear step-by-step pictures and descriptions!

mitten, glove, use, application, hands, feet, face, eyes, armpits

2. Is it dangerous to use tan without sun?

No, brown without sun not dangerous. The active substance that makes the skin brown is DHA which is a natural sugar, which is not dangerous for either health or the skin.

However, you should always shop from reputable retailers to minimize the risk of counterfeit products, which in themselves may contain dangerous substances as they may not be approved for sale within the EU.

Can you use tan without sun if you are pregnant?

You can use BUS when you are pregnant! (See question & answer above).

It is much more important to review what you eat and drink when you are pregnant, ie. that you get all the vitamins & minerals and eat as much natural food as possible.

4. How long should tan without sun work?

Brown without sun works for approx. 3-4 hours after application, during this time you should avoid soaking the areas where you have used BUS. However, it may differ slightly from product to product, but it is clearly stated in the instructions on the packaging.

5. Which is the best tan without sun?

Some popular brands of BUS are (adlinks) Tan Revel St Tropez, Cocoa Brown & Ida Warg, the latter I have reviewed in this post: Ida Warg Brown Without Sun (BUS)

My sister uses Tan Revel and thinks they are great! I have tested ST Tropez before and want to remember that I liked them too.

One of my favorites is Eco by Sonya (adlink), their skin care products are really good too. Have tipped my business partner Emma about this brand and she is extremely happy too and has in turn tipped several of her friends :)

Here is an old picture of my hands before and after Eco By Sonya. Smooth and nice even on the hands!

If you yourself have tested brands and stuck to a special brand, feel free to leave a comment, it would be fun to know which one you think is best! :)

6. How long does tan last without sun?

The bus result generally lasts for approx. 5-7 days and depends on how often you shower, if you scrub a lot in the shower, how long and hot baths / showers you take, etc.

So in other words, you can count on improving your BUS approx. once a week.

In the face, it can disappear faster, as many have a more thorough cleaning routine of the skin on the face. It can therefore be a good idea to have a specific tan without sun for the face, which you improve on during the week.

use, application, hands, feet, face, eyes, armpits

For example. I think Ida Warg Tanning Drops (adlink) is great! You mix it with your usual moisturizer. Can be used daily.

7. When to use tan without sun?

BUS is common to use in the winter and especially in the spring when you are more lightly dressed and the skin has not had time to get a natural tan from the sun. Then you can get a sun-kissed tone on your winter-pale skin while waiting to get some color!

But it is of course possible to use all year round! Ideally, you should not sunbathe so much and also you should be careful with sunscreen with high SPF (30-50), then you may need to help the tan on the stack;)

It can also be used if you have sunbathed and become unevenly brown and / or want to improve your natural burn!

8. Does tan work without sun tablets?

There are many different tan without sun tablets so it is difficult to give a general answer. But many of them contain beta-carotene, which is found in carrots and other colorful vegetables.

Beta-carotene can be stored in the skin and if you "saturate" your depots with beta-carotene, it will start to be stored and give a brown / orange shade in the skin. However, this must be maintained because if you stop eating beta-carotene, that effect will decrease after approx. 1 month.

The same effect can be achieved naturally by eating a lot of carrots or drinking carrot juice daily, the best effect is of course in combination with sunbathing.

** NOTE! However, you should be careful if you are a smoker, as carotenes are antioxidants and studies have shown that smokers who have taken beta-carotene supplements have developed cancer to a greater extent. (However, this only seems to apply to dietary supplements & smokers, one thesis is that those who developed cancer already had cancer which then grew faster.)

beta carotene, brown, tan, orange, carrot, turn brown

Here you see carrot juice in the background! Miska drinks it a lot and has actually got a warmer tone in the skin. In a great way! In the palms he is a bit orange actually, haha. But it is not so clear.

9. Where can you buy tan without sun?

BUS is available for purchase in most stores & online that have beauty products. I recommend NordicFeel.se (adlink) which often has different offers and discounts!

10. How long should you have tan without sun before showering?

Most BUS brands recommend avoiding water approx. 3-4 hours after application. Which means you should wait to shower approx. 3-4 hours, and do not scrub yourself, to extend the shelf life.

11. Can you apply tan without sun without a glove?

It is possible to apply tan without sun without a glove. It can be easier to get even with a "tanning in the middle" and you do not have to be as careful with your hands.

Can also recommend my older post about BUS & hands: How to use tan without sun on the hands?

12. Do you have to scrub off brown without sun?

You do not have to scrub BUS, but if you want to get rid of it faster, a tip can be to scrub it off. It otherwise comes loose naturally when you shower and drop dead skin cells. Warm the skin thoroughly in the shower before exfoliating.

Some prank products disappear unevenly. That one e.g. gets a little spotty in some areas. Then you can advantageously take a hot shower and scrub off the last, instead of letting it disappear naturally.

13. Can you use tan without sun on the face?

It is good to use BUS on the face as well, cleanse and moisturize the face before just! Many brands also have specific BUS products for the face. For example. Ida Warg has a face lotion that I have written more about in this post: Review of Ida Warg products

How to apply tan without sun around the eyes? Should you do that? ” Was one of the questions I got after the last post. I avoid the skin around the eyes, because it is so thin that the cream "wanders up" a bit anyway. You do not get a sharp edge just because you skip the eye area. I also put thin on the cheekbones, to avoid an edge. If you put thick on the cheek and nothing at all under the eye, then it can be an edge of course.

use, application, hands, feet, face, eyes, armpits

14. How to get rid of tan without sun?

The most effective way to get rid of tan without sun is to take a long bath or long hot showers and scrub properly. It can also be good to use an enzyme peel, I can highly recommend Ida Warg - Vitalizing Enzyme Body Peeling (adlink) it is super good !! I use it regularly.

The most important thing is to warm up the skin before scrubbing.

15. Can you sunbathe with tan without sun?

It is perfectly possible to sunbathe with tan without sun! However, it must be remembered that even if the skin is brown, it is not protected from the sun, so it is important to still lubricate yourself with sunscreen! Many BUS products also contain perfume & other substances that can cause allergic reactions and / or uneven pigmentation on the skin during prolonged stays in the sun.

But if you are aware of this and attentive, otherwise there is no risk of enjoying the real sun! :) A fragrance-free prank product is also recommended.

False eyelashes »12 questions & answers + attach false eyelashes (step by step)

In this post, I thought I would answer the most common questions about false eyelashes & also show how to attach false eyelashes to yourself in the best way!

I myself do not use false eyelashes so often, but once I do, I feel really bang-looking! :)

Loose lashes can be my new craze I feel now. I'm 100% periodic when it comes to certain beauty attributes. At the moment it is 1. skip foundation (uses only products that neutralize redness) 2. fake beauty spots 3. brown without sun and now also 4. false eyelashes!

The false eyelashes in this post come from the brand Just Lashes (adlink) which is founded by makeup artists My Emilsson and Anna Kokotos. Who can loose lashes better than two so experienced makeup artists? :)

How do you attach false eyelashes to yourself?

Below is a step-by-step description of how to attach false eyelashes, as well as some tips and tricks on how to apply false eyelashes on yourself in a simple way.

lashliner, fringe marking, eyeliner, makeup tips

Apologies for my brow that sticks out completely! I did not see it until the end of the make-up, so it is in the majority of the step-by-step pictures;)

  1. Lashliner / lash marking before loose lashes

Start by making a lashliner / lash marking. This will make your false eyelashes blend in much better with your natural eyelashes.

Here I have used a black eye shadow, which I have applied with a brush that is moistened with fixing mist (gives longer durability than water). But you can use any product for this; cream eyeliner, a narrow eyeliner, cake eyeliner, etc.

lashliner, lash marking, eyeliner makeup tips, step by step

I do this by lifting a little on the eyelid and blackening right down to the "scalp" of the lashes from the underside. So not so far into the eye that you lay along the upper waterline / mucous membrane, because then it will discolor under the eye when you blink. But just right on the skin between the lashes.

lashliner, lash marking, eyeliner makeup tips, step by step

This way goes too! Place a mirror on the table below you, or angle the mirror upwards if you use a round one that you can turn. Then you see the French edge very clearly, so that you do not grope blindly :)

2. Eyeliner for false eyelashes

Then I paint eyeliner over the lashes too! How to make this eyeliner is 100% optional. Thick, thin, sharp, smoky, wing, wide on the outside and narrow on the inside, etc. Absolutely optional!

The reason why it is good with eyeliner for loose lashes is because otherwise it can be clearly seen that you have false eyelashes, because it is just over your natural lashes that you attach the loose lashes.

I smoked my eyeliner, to show it too! But as I said, which eyeliner you want for your false eyelashes is completely optional.

3. False eyelash glue (+ cut the false eyelashes if necessary)

The most common mistake when applying false eyelashes is that you do not cut them, or that you cut but not enough. So not the straws, but how long the strip is. It depends a bit on what eye shape you have, but on most I do not usually attach false eyelashes to the tip of the outer corner of the eye. Because it can "pull down" the eye a bit and look quite unnatural.

Cut the loose fringe a little at the outer edge, apply to the eye (without glue) and check if it looks nice. Then you can cut more if needed.

Then apply a smooth line of false eyelash glue to the edge of your false lashes. Not too much, not too little. I use the classic glue Duo Adhesive (adlink). An adhesive that is white when applied but which becomes completely transparent when it dries.

Let dry for a while before applying! So that the glue becomes a little tough.

4. Attach loose lashes

If you attach false eyelashes with fingers or tweezers, 100% is a matter of taste. I usually put on the loose lash with my fingers in the middle of the eye.

attach false eyelashes to yourself, apply false eyelashes, just lashes, makeup tips, beautiful eyelashes, lashes, makeup blog, beauty influencer

… Then I take a pair of tweezers if I place the false lash perfectly against the inner and outer corner of the eye and make sure that the false eyelashes are as close to my natural lashes as possible, along the entire lash line.

You can also do as I showed picture regarding lashliner: put a mirror on the table below you and look down instead. Some people think it is easier because you get such a clear overview of the French edge then!

Beginner? What do you do if the false eyelash ends up wrong? It's no harder than removing and starting over! The glue comes off easily by pulling it away from the edge of the loose fringe as a small type of rubber cord.

Sometimes you only realize after application that you should have cut the lashes a little more, or that you put the false eyelash too close to the corner of the eye or that it rubs somewhere. It should be nice and convenient! Do it again and do it right until you are satisfied. The only thing that happens is that you may need to improve your eyeliner a little between times. And that you can get frustrated if you do not get it;) but practice gives skill!

The most important thing to remember is that you do not just have "a chance", so it is not the whole world if it does not get good right away.

This is what my lashes look like with just loose lashes and eyeliner! These false eyelashes are Just Lashes Aliya XS (adlink).

5. Tips for false eyelashes to last all day

After the glue has dried, I usually, with a thin eyeliner brush, apply a little false eyelash glue afterwards as well. As on the seam of the loose lashes. Especially in the corner of the eye. I can easily get a little teary eyes during application and then the glue does not always adhere so well, even if it is not visible immediately. And then the false eyelashes can loosen a little in these areas during the day.

As long as you do not smudge with the glue on your loose lashes, you can put on quite a lot without it looking strange. "A lot" is a question of definition, but you understand what I mean;)

Should you bend the eyelashes before false eyelashes?

If you have very straight lashes that are difficult to get up with mascara, or that they even grow a little down, then I would bend the lashes first. But make as soft a bend as possible, so that the fringe does not become like an L-angle straight up.

On my lashes, I do not bend at all before applying loose lashes.

Why? It is quite easy to bend the lashes too much, then they will stick up through / above the false eyelashes instead of fusing together nicely with the false eyelashes.

But if you can not get your natural lashes up without bending with pliers, then I recommend doing it before attaching the false eyelashes. So that you do not have two rows of lashes from the side, first your own, then a space and then loose lashes above it :)

6. If necessary: Fill / improve the eyeliner

I put a little more black eye shadow on the eyeliner, because the glue became a little glossy while my eyeliner is matte.

It can also be the case that you see some unevenness or the like after the loose lash is in place, then you can even out the eyeliner afterwards.

7. Mascara before or after false eyelashes?

There are slightly different opinions about it actually. Some people prefer to apply mascara before lashes, I prefer to apply mascara afterwards - and as little mascara as possible.

The best (in my opinion) is to apply as gently as possible with mascara, just so that your natural lashes turn black and blend in with the false eyelashes. When I remove the false eyelashes in the evening, I see that I hardly have any mascara at all - I use so little. Because the false lashes are so nice in themselves, so I avoid getting mascara on the false eyelashes.

It's even easier if you dye your natural lashes before! Then you just need to "get together" your natural lashes with all false eyelashes, but the natural straws are already black.

Another reason not to mess up the false eyelashes and your natural eyelashes with lots of mascara, is because it is more difficult to remove the false eyelashes in the evening then. If you have put them together, you must first dissolve the mascara, but I do not need that with this minimal amount of mascara.

Clear! Here I have also put some eye shadow around for a little balance, not just lashes.

12 questions & answers about false eyelashes:

1. What are the different types of false eyelashes?

In short, it can be said that there are 3 different types of false eyelashes:

1. Full line / Strips (strip lashes)

"Classic false eyelashes". This is the most common type of lashes and probably easiest for beginners. They can be found either as whole lashes or in strips that are cut to fit your eye.

2. Individual lashes (cluster / flare / individuals)

Fringes are usually 2-3 straws in a bunch and can be used to fill in sparse areas and build volume. Some people use these to attach to the corner of the eye where it can be difficult to get comfortable with classic false eyelash strips. Either you have one "Single bundle" but there are also variants with 2-3 bundles on a short small strip. I prefer that type, as it is a bit tricky to attach single bundles to yourself.

3. Individual Single Lashes (single)

Single lashes are most often used in lash extensions and are, as the name suggests, a single lash. These are attached individually fringe by fringe to build up your own lashes. This type of false eyelashes is unusual to use in makeup.

But of course there are lots of different styles of lashes; long, short, sparse, fluffy .. As well as different ways to attach them, e.g. magnetic false eyelashes!

2. Can you have false eyelashes every day?

Theoretically, it is possible to have false eyelashes every day if you want, however, over time it can wear on your natural lashes if you have sensitive eyelashes. Some may have it every day without noticing any difference in the natural ones.

If you want loose lashes every day, I still recommend jumping some days if possible to let the lashes rest between laps.

3. Can you be allergic to false eyelashes?

It is unlikely that you are allergic to false eyelashes per se, however, if you attach with glue, the glue can provoke an allergic reaction. The most common is probably latex allergy and that you use glue with latex. It is advantageous to attach loose lashes with latex-free glue.

false eyelash glue, latex-free, application, make-up tips, step by step

I use the glue Duo Adhesive (adlink) which is the most common false eyelash glue. It is also available in a latex-free variant, Duo Adhesive Latex Free (adlink) which I have not tested myself but it has received very good reviews so it is probably just as good!

4. Do false eyelashes wear on the natural lashes?

Loose lashes do not wear out especially with occasional uses, but it is a small strain on the natural lashes. If you use false eyelashes often, it can begin to be noticed by getting fewer and worse natural eyelashes.

It also depends on how careful you are when washing off the makeup and removing the false eyelashes. And how much you "smeared" the lashes in the mascara. If they get stuck a lot with your natural lashes and you pull off the false eyelashes carelessly, then you can happen to wear with natural lashes at the same time as well.

5. How to put on single lashes?

Single lashes are most easily attached with tweezers and dipped in glue to then attach lash by lash.

6. Can you sleep with false eyelashes?

It is clear that goes to sleep with false eyelashes but NOTHING I recommend as this can wear a lot on your own lashes. It is unhygienic as attan as well.

just lashes, attach false eyelashes to oneself, loose lashes, apply false eyelashes,

Please, the girl who always washes off her makeup in the evening! You are very careless in life, but not this;)

Is it possible to cut false eyelashes shorter?

Cutting false eyelashes shorter on the "width", ie the strip itself, is easy and is preferable so that they fit your eyes as well as possible. It's easily done with scissors! :)

If it is the straws that are long then the answer is; yes it is possible, but be careful and cut each straw into slightly different lengths. It will be a "cut off" look if you cut all loose lashes to the same length. If you have thick straws on your false eyelashes, I do not recommend it at all, because then it will also be a "cut off" top of the straw. Should only be done in an emergency, if you e.g. happened to buy too long false eyelashes and have no others.

8. What are the best false eyelashes for beginners?

The best false eyelashes for beginners are (in my opinion) are piece lashes with 2-3 bundles on a short strip.

Because lashes that are like a "single bundle" are a little difficult to apply on themselves. It is easy to happen that you happen to angle it quirky and then all the bundles spread in different directions. But if you have two bundles on a short strip, then you lay the strip against the lash line and get the right angle on your false eyelashes immediately!

Piece lashes are simpler than loose lashes on a full line / strip because you attach one part at a time, which means that you get a quick and easy application along the entire lash line. Than to get one and the same strip to fit perfectly the whole piece from the inner edge to the outer edge.

just lashes, individuals, lashes, individual, lashes, flare, cluster, bundles, application, step by step, beginner, makeup tips

See this entire make-up, product list and step by step in the post; Eyeliner and false eyelashes (piece lashes) Step by step.

9. Can false eyelashes be reused?

How many times can you actually use false eyelashes? You can reuse false eyelashes until they fall apart, but remember to clean them properly so that not a lot of dirt and bacteria grows in them! I clean my lashes with makeup remover and then store them in a small box.

10. How long do false eyelashes last?

False eyelashes that are properly applied should sit all day or until you remove them. Eyelash extensions last longer and most people get better once a month. Approx. 4-8 weeks before they fall off completely and depend on your natural fringe cycle.

11. Is it possible to attach false eyelashes without glue?

There are self-adhesive false eyelashes that hold the lashes together with a magnet instead of glue. So if you are allergic or just do not want to use glue for your loose lashes, magnetic lashes can be something to try! :) I have not tested myself, but am incredibly curious!

There are also eyeliners with some type of magnetism, so you first paint eyeliner and then attach the false eyelash where you painted. Not tested it either!

12. What are false eyelashes made of?

False eyelashes are either made of synthetic materials or real hair (animal fur). The material used should always be on the product and if you shop online in connection with the product, so that it is clear. I recommend synthetic materials, partly it lasts longer (plastic lasts better than a brittle hair) and also it feels incredibly unnecessary to use animal products for beauty when you can make such good lashes (and other products) vegan.

Summary, natural or loose lashes?

You who follow me know that I basically always have my natural eyelashes, I rarely use false eyelashes. I think it's nice with "just right" with lashes. I have pretty good lashes myself that I think are enough, I usually use quite so sparing with mascara too.

But if I want a lot of effect, I personally think it's nicer (on myself) with loose lashes than with a lot of mascara :) But it's a matter of taste!

However, it does not take away the fact that you feel so incredibly bang-looking the days you do a nice make-up with false eyelashes! It's so incredibly beautiful!

Today's tips, lashes with two bundles! How to make eyeliner and false eyelashes in a simple way (relatively simple in any case!) With the help of lashes and eyeliner made with moisturized brush and eye shadow. You will see this step by step in this post! :)

These false eyelashes that will soon be available for purchase online at Lyko.se are from Just Lashes Alora Individuals (adlink) and are individual lashes (cluster / flare) that come with two bundles on each. The lashes are already available to buy HERE.

Lashes with two (or more) bundles are much, much easier to attach than the classic lashes with one bundle on each. Those with a bundle are not as easy to get the "right angle" on, if you happen to attach a little crooked, they spread crazy. But these lashes have a small short strip that you put against the lash line = you put the false eyelash perfectly directly! And it's twice as fast to apply two at a time too :)

These lashes / individual lashes are perfect for a discreet make-up, but which still makes a big difference! I have added 5 pieces per eye (10 bundles in total per eye, that is) which is almost a doubling of my natural lashes. But you can put 2-3 lashes only in the outer edges as well or if you have a "gap" somewhere where you lack natural lashes.

In my opinion, lashes are the best false eyelashes for beginners! But of course works for everyone who wants a natural result and easy application.

The brand Just Lashes is founded by makeup artists My Emilsson and Anna Kokotos. Impressed!

They are quite big for my eyes, I cut off 3 bundles from the loose fringe so that they would fit me and then they became incredibly beautiful :) But there are two smaller sizes and two larger ones as well. So there are variations for all eyes, tastes and occasions you can say!

Smokey eyes with false eyelashes - step by step:

  3. Fade out in the globe line
  4. The same shadow under the eye
  5. Black lashliner & eyeliner, made with black eye shadow Paese Kashmir Eyeshadow (602) and moistened brush with Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist (adlink)

My waterline is tattooed light, so for exactly the same result you can also supplement with glo Skin Beauty Precise Eye Pencil (Peach) (adlink) along the waterline for a more "clear" look.

A relatively discreet smokey eyes with false eyelashes anyway, which is easy to wear even for those who are not used to heavy eye makeup. Thanks to the fact that it is not very black, but also very golden brown.

Natural make-up with false eyelashes - step by step:

All products (except false eyelashes & glue) are in my web shop Creativemakeup.se.

  1. Black lashliner, made with eye shadow and Nanshy Lip Pencil which I moistened with Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist. Paese Kashmir Eyeshadow (602)
  2. Paint (with the same products) a thin eyeliner over the lash line as well.
  3. Erase by pulling the brush sideways, for a thin but smoky eyeliner
  4. Attach the false eyelashes, Just Lashes Aliya XS (adlink) med Duo Adhesive (adlink)
  5. I put a little more eye shadow on the lash glue then, because it became a slightly glossy surface
  6. Black mascara (just a little) to blacken the natural strands and "get" them together with the false eyelashes, glo Skin Beauty Water Resistant Mascara
  7. Light eye shadow on the eyelid, in the corner of the eye and under the brow, Paese Kashmir Eyeshadow (667)
  8. Sweep light brown shadow at the end of the eyelid, in the globe line and under the eye, Contouring Palette (2) (same as on the face)
  9. Black eye shadow along the lower lash line as well

Clear!

My waterline is tattooed light, so for exactly the same result you can also supplement with glo Skin Beauty Precise Eye Pencil (Peach) along the waterline for a more "clear" look.

In this picture you can clearly see that it is a very natural make-up with false eyelashes. So that there is hardly any eye shadow at all on the eye, but just a framed look with the help of eyeliner and lashes!
