My business week

When Saturday came, I just felt "wow, I made it this week too!" :)

Preparations for 1 November
The whole Monday and Tuesday basically consisted only of finishing everything before 1 November when all 16 campaign photos (you can see 4 of them on the front page of Creativemakeup.se) would be ready, all news would be up in the webshop and then we had autumn events in the evening as well. At the same time as all other regular work must be kept up as usual.

This Tuesday I therefore worked from home and wore in front of the computer, but you can still have it cozy:

Bonfire, rag socks, coffee and the computer in your lap on the sofa :) It's easy to sit from morning to night and work when you make it a cozy moment!

Autumn event at the salon!
This Wednesday we had an autumn event at the salon, always just as fun!

We love events and have nailed 2 large events a year - one for spring / summer and one for autumn / winter. Then we have some plans for smaller theme events, for example an evening for just Hairology and hair analyzes and stuff that I hope we get started with soon :)

Here Ida prepares bonfires, non-alcoholic cider and snacks!

Here is the make-up place where I would hold a presentation about the news and show off the products of my sister Mia who posed as a model during the evening :)

So much fun when the store is full of people who want makeup tips and product recommendations! The only thing that is sad is that I never have time to talk to everyone, we have more makeup artists so everyone gets help but I want to have time to chat with everyone too haha :)

We had really good offers on products and also all the treatments that were booked on site!

Annika welcomes everyone here!

During our presentation, Annika presented our staff and talked a bit about that beauty is wellness, which we realized after working in this industry for a long time now. Many people think that we work with only beauty and surface, but to take care of yourself and be cared for and do something just for your own sake is actually health and wellness as well. Seeing a lively person in the mirror also makes the brain feel livelier and happier!

Then Ämma talked about fibroblast (you can read more about that treatment here) and that she is now ready to take apprenticeships for lashliner for only 1500: -! This was not an offer just for the evening but everyone who booked had the first thing on the times in November and December and I think there is only one bookable time left now :)

Helene talked about her treatments and mostly about the popular carboxy cure that makes the skin heal itself and removes stretch marks, fat cells and much more. You can read about it here also.

Then it was my turn and I tipped everyone about beauty guides we have on the website but mainly I showed all our news!

So love all the news ♥

I really had to struggle to be reasonably concise, I can talk about our products for exactly any length of time haha.

Then it was mingling and make-up tips, trying out colors, helping customers book appointments and socializing and mingling around with all the good customers that mattered :)

A very successful event in other words!

Kissing meetings (ppersonal udevelopmentssamtal)
Last Thursday we had kissing meetings again, which we always have at the beginning of each month. Before we started with these, I thought that these meetings might be a bit redundant because we have staff meetings with the whole team every other week + a small company with good communication already. But I really have to strike a blow to sit down alone with each person and talk - it gives an incredible amount!

Just this week, the kiss meetings have felt extra important and several misunderstandings have been rectified, urgent things have come up that need to be resolved and I am so grateful to work with people who are open so that you can solve things at an early stage. It creates more jobs for me now but will reduce the number of problems in the future :)

We have these kiss meetings for the staff to develop, but I myself probably develop at least as much actually haha!

Blogging
This week I promised myself to blog every day even though I had a lot going on - but I missed Friday and Saturday, attans! This with the number of blog posts has really dropped in the blog world in recent years and I hear more talk about "posts a week" than "posts a day" as they said before. 5-7 posts a week feels pretty common? I do not know if it's because bloggers usually have a lot more balls in the air now and do not have as much time to blog, or if it is the readers who have it and do not have time to check a blog several times a day?

3 years ago I made 3 posts a day on Imakeyousmile.se and one post a day on Modernmom.se - Laila Bagge and Pernilla Wahlgren's blog page where I wrote about beauty before it was discontinued and they started blogging in different places again. So 4 posts a day!

Now my standard is one post a day and I think it feels right. There is something new every day you go in but if you have missed a few days it is not a whole book to read as well.

How much update do you think is appropriate? :) Do you even notice if I missed blogging two days in a row? :) Nowadays, it's a bit more Instagram that counts and I often hear "I follow you on instagram" instead of "I read your blog" by customers at the salon. But I still feel that I have more followers and life in the blog than on Instagram. By the way, must get better on the update on Instagram too haha, but I think it's so messy that you have to use the phone - I'm a computer person :)

Do you remember the time I blogged on Modernmom.se? :)

To always "lag behind" in the planning due to setting an unreasonable plan yourself
As a self-employed person, you decide for yourself how to set up your work, which is a huge advantage, but I also have a tendency to put too much on my to-do list, which means that I am always behind. For how much I wants catch up and how much I can catching up are two different things, then there are some urgent things that take even time as well.

And those are exactly the thoughts I have right now. As you know, we renovate at home and last Friday I worked from home to be able to brush the wax oil on the floors downstairs when everyone was at work. But I really did not think it would take that long but planned to get a lot of work done during the drying time. I had a romanticized image of painting the floor up to the study (where the floor is already finished) and then being "painted" and stuck to working and getting so much done haha.

But my incredibly long to do list I did not even have time to touch. I started brushing on the floors when Miska went to work and drew the last brushstrokes when he got home, had dinner with my sister when it dried (2 hours drying time) then I brushed the second layer in one of the rooms and then the evening was over.

So nothing on my to do list was urgent and can just as well wait until Monday, but only because I had Certainly that all it would be finished, it has gnawed at me during the weekend that "I am behind" and I have a very hard time deciding now whether I should cook sweets in bed and watch movies the rest of Sunday or if I should work instead haha .

But it is actually also the case that you are more efficient when you are rested, so now I will actually snuggle under a blanket for the rest of Sunday and let go of all demands and musts without a guilty conscience :)

Hugs are!

Mixed Metals Makeup (Step by Step Makeup)

Here is another make-up with our news!

The new eyeshadow palette Mixed Metals from glo Skin Beauty is absolutely incredible, so good! A perfect combination of dark and light, matte and shimmery tones. The light eye shadows usually end first in a palette because you often use them for every make-up, but in this palette they are larger which solves that problem and at the same time they are easy to use as a highlighter on the face as well :)

Today's make-up was the first step-by-step make-up I did with this palette and chose my favorite colors - lots of the golden (so nice!) And then murky tones at the edges. Very useful look both for everyday and for parties.

Bassmink:
Face primer - Pixi Flawless & poreless primer
Foundation - gloMinerals pressed base foundation (Golden medium)
Concealer - gloMinerals under eye concealer (beige)
Powders for redness - gloMinerals Redness Relief Powder
Contouring & highlighter - Pixi Contour Creator
Rouge - gloMinerals Blush (Papaya)
Fixing mist - Pixi makeup fixing mist
Net matting powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Brynpenna - gloMinerals Micro Brow Liner (Ash and Dark brown)

Lip pencil on the entire lips - glo Skin Beauty Lip Liner (Wine)

glo Skin Beauty Shadow Palette in the shade Mixed Metals I have used today, and the shadows with pink dots are the colors I used in today's make-up.

Love that it is very shimmery and glowy on the inside of the eye and completely matte on the outer edges.

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
Golden eye shadow in the middle of the eyelid
  2. Light eye shadow in a golden tone on the inside of the eyelid
  3. Brown eye shadow that goes to burgundy at the end of the eyelid and along the globe line
  4. Fade the edges and shade with a warm brown color in the fade
  5. Light eye shadow (the large one) under the brow and in the corner of the eye
  6. Light eye shadow in a golden tone at the bottom of the lower lash line
  7. Golden eye shadow in the middle of the lower lash line
  8. Brown shadow at the end of the lower lash line as well, tie together with the shadow on the eyelid in the outer corner of the eye
  9. Fade the edges on the underside of the eye as well
  10. Mascara on all lashes, Magnetic lash mascara

Clear!

Hope you like the look! Can really recommend these eye shadows, so rich in pigment and nice ♥

Our renovation project

I was asked how our renovation is going and the request for an update in a post, so here it is! :)

As you know, I inherited a house last summer and now live here with my boyfriend Miska, my sister Mia and her two children aged 7 and 10. As a small collective :)

Last winter we renovated 2 rooms (bedroom + study) but other than that it has only been clean, clean, clean that counts. Mom was a collector, which is both charming and crazy haha. Last summer, Miska said "I found a washing machine" when he was cleaning one of the rooms in the basement. That you have already cleaned for a year and suddenly can "find" something so big says quite a lot about what the situation here has looked like haha.

You can see how the workroom turned out in my previous post: Walk in closet - for all my products! And now we have just started with the rest of the house!

Interior style
We will have a light foundation with white walls and white wooden floors (transparent white so you can see the wood through) then the rest is not completely clear but we are very into turquoise, copper and old worn doors.

Have no sources for the pictures because it was not really there to be published, hope it goes well anyway!

Fint va? :)

Then we will again and again let the interior design style grow but we all like a bit odd things, it should not be "instagram-nice", white everywhere and trendy ornaments type.

We have many interior doors in the house to different rooms, down to the basement, etc. and would like different old, charming doors everywhere :) I think it can be super nice! Do you have an old charming door you should not have to shout at!

I want to make our wood stove as "the wall in the attic at Rufus' house in Gossip Girl" but did not find such an inspirational picture so I photoshopped it myself haha. Also added a turquoise, old door on the side. Fint va? :)

Sand wooden floors
We have already sanded two floors, so it went much smoother now that we knew 1. rent a floor grinder directly 2. rent one that is specific to the edges as well and 3. do not forget to buy sanding dust bags haha.

And in one part of the house there was also a plastic mat and masonite slabs that we had to tear off first, only it was a project!

In this corner you see what the floor looked like before! Glossy, yellowish varnish.

The corners and other small areas such as under closets, under elements, etc. can still be sanded by hand, but I have kind of planed it away with the tool you see in the picture. I worked from morning to night on a Saturday, had so much pain in my hands that I could barely get dressed the next day!

Today is Wednesday and I still have exercise pain in my right hand and have a fever. I'm too small to fight like that haha.

But this weekend corner, then the floors will be white !! We have bought matte, white pigmented hard wax oil which after a little research seems to be the best - nice, simple and the result is durable and since the floors are already quite light, we also think that one layer is enough.

Any of you who have experience with white pigmented hard wax oil? Tip? :) In the two rooms we have already renovated, we ran stain and varnish, but there were 3 layers in total, which takes a terrible time if you have to make a whole house at once!

This is how all floors look now after sanding, you will see the white result later! The room in this picture is my old room haha ♥ Black, shiny walls that you could kind of reflect in if you shone with a lamp :) I was so cool!

Let's see how easy it is to paint white later. Now we have at least sanded the wallpaper edges that were under the paint, as you see in the picture.

We have no furniture at all now and eat on balcony furniture haha.

Sauna building!
Jaaa in the middle of all this we are building a sauna too :)

Dad has built a log cabin that stands in the garden, which had no floor and only a thin roof. Mom had garden stuff and tools in there but now it's going to be a sauna instead!

The walls should be the same timber as before, so nice ♥ Then there have been floors with insulation, drains and tiles, ceilings with insulation and panels, nice moldings around windows and even electricity drawn for lamp!

It will be a wood-fired sauna, so now it is just a matter of staining everything newly built in a similar color as the timber, fixing the chimney and heater (for fire and water), we have gone to Ockelbo (!) And bought a small bathtub we will spray copper-colored , and then build sauna leaves. Then it's done!

Here Miska is doing and putting up the last moldings on the ceiling :)

We had an electrician here who turned on the electricity for the lamp, so we have lighting both inside the sauna and outside. And do you know what the best thing is? The lamp buttons are inside the house! So before you go out in the dark winter evening you can turn on the lights so it is bright when you arrive. Nice crowd huh!

We were bothered that the cords for the lamps were white because they are right next to the sauna door. So I bought furniture paint and painted "vein painting" so that it looks more like wood! Surely it turned out very well, right?

I'm unreasonably proud of the wooden cord actually haha! Painted with a small makeup brush and felt like an artist :)

There is not much more to see than, empty rooms with worn walls and light wooden floors. But we have taken some role models so when we get a little further you can see before and after.

Hugs are!

Rebel Angel (Step by Step Tutorial)

It's almost unreasonable how much material love I can feel for makeup sometimes, I'm so in love with this eyeshadow I have made up with today that I really get butterflies in my stomach from it haha!

The eyeshadow is one of the news we just published in the webshop Creativemakeup.se !! Woop, woop! :) Even the lip pencil I have on my whole lips is a novelty!

Is not it nice?!

A very quick and easy make-up but I felt that I wanted as much as possible of this color both on the entire eyelids and under the eye just to get it out of the system a bit haha.

Bassmink:
Face primer - Pixi Flawless & poreless primer
Foundation - gloMinerals pressed base foundation (Golden medium)
Concealer - gloMinerals under eye concealer (beige)
Powders for redness - gloMinerals Redness Relief Powder
Contouring & highlighter - Pixi Contour Creator
Rouge - gloMinerals Blush (Papaya)
Fixing mist - Pixi makeup fixing mist
Net matting powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Brynpenna - gloMinerals Micro Brow Liner (Ash and Dark brown)

Lip pencil on the entire lips - glo Skin Beauty Lip Liner (Java)

The eyeliner is an eye shadow from the same palette, went as fast as you like!

And here is the famous palette - the news glo Skin Beauty Eye Shadow Quad in the shade Rebel Angel! Love, love, love!

In today's make - up I have used all shades except the greenish one on the top right.

But the corner, the eyeshadow in peach and gold luster, I got such a desire when I saw it for the first time! Surely it's absolutely wonderful? :)

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
Peach & gold eye shadow on the entire eyelid and along the globe line
  2. Light matte eye shadow under the brow and in the corner of the eye
  3. Peach & gold eye shadow along the lower lash line
  4. Fade all edges
  5. Brown eyeshadow with a hint of burgundy as an eyeliner wing + at the bottom of the lower lash line
  6. Black mascara on the upper lashes and the outer lower lashes, Magnetic lash mascara

Clear!

So fun to finally show you the news! :)

Hug!

Blue lips with L'Oréal Paris Lip Paint

I received a press release L'Oréal Paris Infallible Lip Paint Laquer (adlink) in the shade Bye Felicia (adlink) a while ago and I got the urge to test right away, it looks so heavenly cool!

On Eleven's website it says that this is matte, but it is probably a mistake in the text because it is very, very glossy :)

What is L'Oréal Paris Infallible Lip Paint Laquer?
A liquid lipstick in tube packaging, available in many different colors, also pink, red and neutral tones and not just extreme colors like this blue.

Formula
The lipstick is creamy and soft and I think it feels nice on the lips. Not sticky at all but very "smooth" if you understand what I mean? :)

Results
The color is rich in pigment and becomes full-coverage immediately, it was not difficult at all to get a full blue lip in an even tone. Super glossy surface and cool effect! I personally prefer matte lipstick on dark tones, a dark blue matte lipstick I would have felt much nicer in, but it's a matter of taste.

Blue highlights yellow so many are afraid that colors like this will make their teeth look really yellow. And yes maybe if you actually have very yellow but I think mine actually became the opposite and looked almost a little blue and white!

sustainability
Here, however, I have to say njaa, a dark intense color must have better durability because it looks immediately kinky when one's own lip color begins to shine through, which it did very quickly with this even before I had time to eat or drink anything.

Then when I had eaten and "lived" without improving, it was almost as if the blue pigments began to creep out a little around the lips as well.

And since durability feels extra important on a product like this, it reduces the whole thing a lot, which is a shame, I think!

Summary - Maybe I should use this lipstick together with a blue lip pencil (or eyeliner pen probably works too) and have this as a nice shine in the middle. Because I think it is very, very nice, but I would not bother to improve as often as required for it to be nice all the time.

Therefore, it only gets 2 out of 5 in ratings from me, but I have really got more taste for dark blue lips now! :)
