Purple summer make-up

When I sat down in front of the make-up mirror, I immediately felt that I wanted to do a cold, purple make-up! Do you sometimes get that you immediately feel what you are craving for color?

I tested the purple colors Make Up Store 12 Shades of Color (adlink), a palette that I used a lot but think that the purple tones were still completely unused! Do not know why, but suddenly they appealed to me;)

Hope you like the look!

Bassmink:
Face primer - Paese Makeup Base (Matte)
Concealer - gloMinerals Under Eye Concealer (beige)
Foundation - gloMinerals Pressed Base (Golden Medium)
Highlighter (matt) - Paese Kashmir Eyeshadow (667)
Contouring - Paese Bronzing powder (1m)
Rouge - Paese Powder Blush (35)
Fixing mist - Pixi makeup fixing mist

Fountain pens - gloMinerals Micro Brow Liner (Dark Brown)
Brown fibers - Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Filler (Soft brown) (Adlink)

Lips - NYX Lip Lingerie (Embellishment) (Adlink)

The darkest at the far end is a black eyeshadow on top of the purple, it became a very blue tone but I have not used anything blue at all :) Thought it also gave a lot of effect to apply mascara on only the outer lashes, what do you think of it?

All eye shadows are from Make Up Store 12 Shades of Color (adlink) unless otherwise stated.

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi Eye Bright Primer
Light purple eye shadow on the inside of the eyelid
  2. Purple eyeshadow at the end of the eyelid
  3. Black eye shadow as an eyeliner with wing at the outer edge of the eye, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (602)
  4. Fade the black eye shadow upwards
  5. Black eyeliner at the bottom of the wing, Paese liquid eyeliner
And a little more black eye shadow to make the eyeliner blend in a little more
  6. White eye shadow in the corner of the eye and under the eyeliner, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (601)
Black mascara on the upper lashes and the outer lower lashes, Magnetic Lash Mascara

Clear!

Felt really nice in this look, neat but works well for everyday too without feeling like a party party :)

Art makeup

This morning I felt a little extra playful! :) I woke up early, ate breakfast and enjoyed two cups of coffee and then ended up a little speeded up in front of the makeup mirror haha.

Here is the result:

Bassmink:
Face primer - Paese Makeup Base (Matte)
Concealer - gloMinerals Under Eye Concealer (beige)
Foundation - gloMinerals Pressed Base (Golden Medium)
Highlighter (matt) - Paese Kashmir Eyeshadow (667)

Fixing mist - Pixi makeup fixing mist

Fountain pens - gloMinerals Micro Brow Liner (Dark Brown)
Brown fibers - Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Filler (Soft brown) (Adlink)

Lip pencil - Benecos Natural Lip Liner (Red)

What do you think? :)

All eye shadows are made with the palette "Eleven 180 Palette" which is no longer available for purchase there, but I think it is also available on Ebay if you search there. I really wanted to use Paese Neo Eyeshadows (which is available in the same colors) but since I moved home the make-up studio, I have not taken home all the products we have in the store / webshop yet, so I got used to this old palette for so long :)

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
Yellow eye shadow on the inside of the eyelid
  2. Orange eyeshadow in the middle of the eyelid
  3. Red eyeshadow at the end of the eyelid, saving a small space between the orange and the red
  4. White eye shadow between the orange and the red, Paese Kashmir eyeshadow (601)
  5. White eye shadow along the globe line
  6. Brown eye shadow as a cat eye shape outside the white in the globe line
  7. White eye shadow in the corner of the eye
Yellow eye shadow at the bottom of the lower lash line
Brown eyeshadow at the end of the lower lash line
  8. Black eyeshadow around the white eyeshadow on the eyelid, Paese cashmere (602)
  9. Black eyeliner with wing, Paese liquid eyeliner
  10. Black mascara on all lashes, Magnetic lash mascara

Clear!

I had this make-up at work and got a lot of comments from customers, really fun to not only do the make-up but also use them :) Before when I worked from home, it was only Miska and you who saw my pictures who got to take part in the different looks hehe.

Wishing you a really wonderful day!

Kryolan Eyeliner in stock again!

I have promised lots of people to write as soon as we get Kryolan Cake Liner and Kryolan HD Cream Liner in stock in the webshop and store again.

We took these in as news a few months ago and they were consumed like butter, then they ran out of the distributor who in turn received a delayed delivery from the US. Yes you know how it can be, such problems you can not solve by working harder but just wait the time…

But now it finally exists again! :)

Kryolan HD Cream Liner is a waterproof cream eyeliner that glides on the skin and gives an even and intense color immediately. Works for all types of eyeliners and is optimal for both lashliner / fringe marking, a sharp eyeliner, a smoky eyeliner and eyeliner wings.

Kryolan Cake Eyeliner has a formula that gives a carbon black intensive result with long shelf life. Easy to paint sharply along the lash line and / or as a lashliner / lash marker. Dip your brush in water, mix in the eyeliner jar until you get a suitable consistency. Easy to wash off as it dissolves in water, but still sits well all day. For a waterproof result, you can mix it with a transparent cake liner sealer liquid instead of water.

For a nice lashliner, I personally think that Kryolan Cream Liner is the best product I have tested! I have been looking for a good cream eyeliner for this but am incredibly picky, but now I have finally found it :)

Lashliner can be made with different products and it's a bit of a matter of taste, in the pictures in this post I have used a carbon black eye shadow. But a cream eyeliner is quickly applied, waterproof (good so close to the eye) and fits super well. Everything you want when you paint lashliner every day!

The most important thing when making a lashliner is not to apply along the upper waterline, because even if you have an eyeliner that remains up there, it still usually discolors on the lower part of the eye when you blink if you applied on the upper waterline. But if you just put on the skin right where the lashes are stuck, it lasts just as well!

When I make lashliner, I lift the lid a little and work with the brush from the bottom. Another tip is to have a mirror on the table that you can angle upwards, so that you can look downwards in the mirror, then you see from below and get a clearer overview of the lash line.

Here you see an everyday make-up I did with Kryolan's cream eyeliner as a fringe marking. Do you see what a nice frame the eye gets, without having a wide eyeliner?

Shaping eyebrows is a craft

2

Satisfied and happy customers can really make your whole day, love it! :) I do not have an open schedule for bookings but usually only take regulars and people who want to come to me specifically, but when we are fully booked (as we are right now) I open up my schedule as well and have received raw about lots of new customers. Really fun!

And what makes me a little sad (and happy at the same time) is when customers tell me about other salons they fixed their eyebrows at and are shocked at how we can get such a good result when they suddenly realize that all they have been to before have been half as careful, half as skilled and half as knowledgeable. To me, eyebrow plucking and coloring is like a little craft! Each eyebrow is unique and by removing just the right hair and applying the color in the perfect way, you can sometimes make the customer believe that you are holding a magic wand :)

Here is the result of yesterday's customer, who really did not want to dye but only pick (because she can not go outside the door in a week when she dyes at other salons) but who after a bit of persuasion dyed anyway and then only regretted that she did not come to me earlier haha.

She does not really have hard eyebrows at all except that you have to think a little to get a nice highest point on the eyebrow, as her natural shape is quite straight. Her straws are very long right in the middle of the brow and grow a lot downwards, so you have to work a lot with the scissors there to get the shape. And color the light fjun straws in the upper part of the brow also to get more fullness and thus "lift" the brow.

If you do not cut an eyebrow like this (and spend a little extra time getting the shape) but only pick with tweezers, then the shape will either need to be kept quite wide or make it super thin at the outer edges. And that's exactly how this customer has gotten at other salons, she said that either they only take a few straws and she could just as well have done it herself, or they become so narrow at the outer edges that she barely has anything left.

I think it feels like many people seem to think that it is "just taking a jerk" and perform the treatment without actually being able to do a good job. It's a little more complex than pulling straws from the root. Some eyebrows need to be cut a lot, some barely need to be cut at all, some look best when brushing the hairs up and some when brushing the hairs down. Some need to raise the highest point, some need to let it grow more in some places (if you picked them yourself, or with someone ignorant) and some need to be stained twice on some part of the brow to get the best result.

Creative people are often good at several things, because you have an eye for color and shape, but just because you can cut and color hair does not mean that you can automatically shape a nice eyebrow, and just because you are good at nails nor does it mean that you can shape a fine eyebrow. You can probably definitely learn! But one must understand that it is so much more than just pulling straws. Then we can never add straws (then you have to go to Annika hehe) but you can definitely make big transformations with the right knowledge, proper time, tweezers, scissors and some color tubes :)

It has started to pop up a lot of brow bars as well, which is basically fun I think but when you say "come and fix the brows in 15 minutes!" so it goes completely against my concept and values. Sit for a few more minutes and get a shape and color that is both nicer and more durable, so you do not have to redo them as often either.

What a long post it was to show a before and after picture haha. Hope you thought it was interesting with my observations and reflections anyway :)

Helena likes - Idun Minerals Nail Polish Rock Crystal

I love light nail polish and this spring I am especially in love with nude tones (regardless of skin tone) and think it is so nice with high-gloss and well-fixed nails in a color that blends into the skin tone. So nice!

For me who is light in complexion, the shade is Rock Crystal from Idun Minerals is a crazy nice nude color that I want to recommend today :) I got a press sample on this quite a long time ago and have used the look as dense since then, think it is really good.

Idun Minerals nail polish is a mineral nail polish and has a so-called 5-free formula, which means that five harmful chemicals have been removed. I have not read what the ingredients are about, but it undeniably sounds nice and the brand itself has good values and environmental thinking :) The nail polish also contains minerals, vitamins and almond oil that strengthens and nourishes the nails.

The nail polish contains 11 ml, so it's a pretty big bottle which I like! And the durability of the lacquer Rock crystal is very good too, I think. Nothing to complain about!

The price is SEK 95 and they can be bought at, among other places, Idun's own website.

The result is nice already after one layer if you want a transparent result, but I like it best with two layers when you get a nice coverage.

Two thumbs up I say!

Hope you had a really nice start to the new week. I myself have been free all weekend and donated at home in the garden, it's like going to a therapist to clear weeds and do nice things! To literally clean away things that are old, dry and dull and see new green leaves grow nice :) In addition, my mother loved to do things in the garden so it felt like she was happy too!

And when you have a job that oscillates between creatively with small details and sitting at the computer and using your head for numbers, emails, etc., it feels really great to be able to work a little with the body! You hardly need to think or focus your gaze very much, you just drive. Really nice :)

Hope your weekend has been good too ♥ Hugs!
