Warm makeup (Step by step)

Last Saturday I was at Veronika Maggio's concert at the Stadium in Stockholm, so much fun! I wore a gray outfit and wanted a make-up that was festive without being felt for party party on the day because I would first work and then hang out in town in the afternoon.

Here you see the result:

The curls are made by my kind sister Mia who curled my hair the night before with my favorite curling iron HH Simonsen Mini Beach Waver. I have not improved them at all after that but just slept with them, they are much nicer the next day and last really well! :) Surely they will be nice?

Benetint - Colored "liquid" for the lips

There are several different types of lip tint, but what they all have in common is that they color the lips so that the pigments sink into the lip and sit much better than e.g. a color that sits on the surface of the lips, as lip gloss and lipstick do.

In one of my boxes from Glossybox I got a small bottle with lip tint - Benefit Benetint Lip & Cheek Color, which is a red liquid with the included brush that can be used for both lips and cheeks.

I have not used it on the cheeks yet, but on the lips I have put it to the test and now thought to give my review! :)

IMG_2480_111

What is Benefit Benetint Lip & Cheek Color?
The light transparent formula adds color to both lips and cheeks and gives a natural glow”It says about the product on Glossybox's website. It does not say much, but it is a red liquid in a small, small bottle, and in the cork is a brush with which you can paint this colored liquid on your lips. This liquid sinks quickly into the skin and the color becomes completely rub-proof.

If you read about Benetint on Glossybox website it has received 59 reviews and a total average of 3 out of 5 stars in customer ratings. And these are very mixed opinions, so I think it will be different on different lips / skin types, so you can include that in the calculations if you are eager to test.

However, I like the product much, much more than I get the idea when I read the reviews! :)

IMG_2672_1111

Application
It is as easy to use as it looks, just to brush on! If you have a lot of lines around the mouth, it can slide out a little because it is a thin liquid, but on my lips it will not be so at all.

Fragrance
Many reviews say that it tastes / smells super disgusting, but it is not something I have reflected on strangely enough. It is not flavored nor completely odorless, but I do not think it has a direct strong taste / aroma.

Color
The lips look like before but with a nicer color! If you brush a thin layer, the lips get a soft and discreet red-pink shade, but you can easily get more effect by brushing on another layer.

What strikes me is how even the color becomes, not all lip tints are.

IMG_2499_111

Feeling
The lips feel like when they are almost unmade up.

sustainability
I have tested the lip tint on the hand, on the lips (several times) and also on my friend's lips - with different results. So I want to emphasize again that how long this lasts depends very much on how your own lip is.

On my lips - The durability is really good! Does not last from morning to evening, but incredibly long and more than half the day I would say. It disappears faster if you have an oil-based lip gloss over, I have noticed.

On my hand - Holds almost too well! Sat like a slap all day and was just a little, a little brighter in the evening, even though I washed my hands many times. I think it was only on the 3rd day that the paint was completely gone from the hand, and then I had even tried to scrub off the paint.

On my friend's lips - Just put a very thin layer, and she thought it disappeared as fast as a regular lipstick.

IMG_2884_111

Here you see the difference between one layer and 2 layers. In the pictures in this post, I have one layer on the entire lips, and 2 layers in the contours. Then my lip tattoo makes the lip naturally lighter in the middle as well.

IMG_2462_111

Summary - I really like this one and will continue to use it! The very best was when I had it together with matte lipstick from gloMinerals (you will see that make-up tomorrow), really bang-looking and superb durability! Had it when we were at a concert last Saturday and I hardly needed to improve on anything. Quick and easy to use product if you just want a nice tone on the lips. However, it does not seem to look good / works well on everyone's lips, so it is not a safe card, but worth trying anyway I think!

I got it as I said with Glossybox which you have to subscribe to, but it is also available HERE.

Any of you who got this in your Glossybox? What do you think of it? :)

Hug! ♥

Essie Summer Collection 2016

A few weeks ago I received a press release with nail polish from Essie's summer collection 2016! The collection contains 6 new shades, both matte and with a little glitter. This is what they look like:

IMG_2030_111

Fina va? Come in a nice box :)

IMG_2038_111

Viva antigua - A turquoise shade with glitter - 2 layers are needed
Coconut cove - A white shade - 1 layer is needed
Berried treasures - A red shade that goes against coral pink - 1 layer is needed
Hiking heels - A red shade that goes orange - 2 layers are needed
Loot the booty - A blue shade with glitter - 2 layers are needed
Tribal Test-styles - A black-gray shade with glitter - 2 layers are needed

IMG_2041_111

I like the turquoise shade incredibly much!

IMG_2695_111

Here you see what they look like when I have painted on transparent test nails.

I think they are easy to paint with and become even and nice, but they dry quite slowly if you paint 2 layers, you have to wait a very long time in between, and I never have the patience for that. Besides, they get two thumbs up!

Essie can be found on Lyko.se, among others.

Which shade do you think is the finest? :)

Highlight your tan with makeup (Step by step)

Many come back to work / school after the holidays now, and have got a nice tan that is really nice to highlight! Or maybe already starting to get rid of the burn (for me it lasts an incredibly short time) and want to highlight it a little extra for people to see that you have actually been out this summer;)

Also read my other posts: Contouring - Beginner for the whole face (Step by step) & Contouring the eyes! (6 step tutorial)

Anyway, here is a make-up and a bunch of tips on how you can make yourself more tan, not just cheat on the tan a bit but above all how to highlight it!

product collage2

  1. Sun pillows Pretty obvious product to cheat the burn a little extra, feel free to choose a slightly cooler shade so you can use it as contouring and just max out a little more than usual! I have used Paese Bronzing Powder (2M)
  2. Gold Luster - Golden glow on cheekbones, chin, brow bones, collarbones and shoulders is so beautiful and really brings out the extra in a tan skin tone. I have used a golden highlighter watch Pixi Book of Beauty Glow Getters.
  3. Brilliant coral lips - This is the best lip color if you want to look tan, once my colleague asked if I had sunbathed when I had this lip color and then I was as winter pale as I can get, you know such a color that makes you look brown out even though you are not even that :) This is gloMinerals Cream Glaze Crayon in the shade Mimosa.
  4. Cold eye makeup - gloMinerals Micro Precise Eyeliner (Navy). A cold eye make-up (eg blue and gray) creates contrast, e.g. in the same way that yellow and orange emphasize blue eyes and that purple emphasizes green eyes. Blue and such cool colors emphasize the golden, warm in the skin and make the tan stand out a little extra.
  5. White eye shadow -  Paese cashmere (601). In the same way that cold emphasizes warm, so light emphasizes dark. You can also keep that in mind :) That's why I added some white eye shadow under the eyeliner and in the corner of the eye as well.

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
  2. Swipe on a powder instead of eye shadow
(We who have oily eyelids may need primer even if we do not want eye shadow, so that the eyeliner does not smudge on the eyelid. Waterproof eyeliner often dissolves in oil)
  3. Mark the angle of the eyeliner wing with a line from the outer corner of the eye and outwards, gloMinerals Micro Precise Eyeliner (Navy)
  4. Shape the eyeliner wing
  5. Follow the line from the wing and "pull in" the eyeliner to the center of the eyelid.
  6. Paint narrower in the inner edge of the eye.
  7. Blue mascara on the upper lashes, Yves Rocher Volume Vertige Mascara (Bleu)
  8. White eye shadow in the corner of the eye and under the eyeliner, Paese cashmere (601)

Not super brown, meeen then you would see how pale I looked before the makeup;)

Hugs are! ♥
