New podcast episode - Stop running in the whirlwind!

Now we have published the second episode of my and Tommy's podcast Really effective, so much fun I think!

We recorded in our extra room so the sound got a little echo this time, hope it does not disturb too much. We will soon be warm in our clothes :)

Section 2 - Stop running in the whirlwind

Tommy and I usually call everything daily in a hurry for the whirlwind, you know when you just run on urgent things and "put out fires" instead of having a structured working day with a clear focus. It's kind of an exact description of my working days the first 2 years with the salon haha.

But huuur do you do then? It can feel hopeless when you are in it, but it really does not have to be, there are a lot of tools and mindsets that you can use - and that and a little more we talk about in this section :)

Is there "where pods are" e.g. on Acast, Podcasts and iHeartRadio. But not on Spotify yet.

Feel free to respond! This episode is already much better than the first episode I think myself! :) Hardly needed to cut at all!

Make-up for bangs (4 tips + product list)

I did this party make-up on a girl who turned one and got this as a surprise gift the same day! Great fun! A make-up that goes well with bangs! :)

She did not know what to do afterwards (it was still in the middle of the day) so we did a bright but festive eye makeup with glitter that suits both during the day and in the evening.

I got to take before and after pictures, which made me very happy because she had a thick bangs, so now I can also share make-up tips for you who also have bangs!

You can fit in any make-up, regardless of hairstyle, but there are some tips that can be helpful if you have such a thick fringe that goes down to the eyes :)

Tip #1 - Highlight the eyelid
A thick fringe can create a shadow on the eyes if you are in a lighting that only comes from above (which it does in many rooms). My tip then is to highlight the eyelid so that the makeup pops up a bit anyway and does not disappear in the shadow.

Highlighting the eyelid can be done in different ways. Example:

  • With a shade that is lighter than your skin tone
  • With shimmer or glitter
  • With a colorful shadow or eyeliner

Tip #2 - Color selection in the globe line
I usually choose a globe line color that is different from the hair color. If you e.g. has dark brown hair and makes a dark brown smokey eye on the entire eyelid and up over the globe line, everything becomes dark only from the eye and up into the hair, which is absolutely very cool (!) but many find it difficult to feel comfortable in such makeup.

If you have a light hair color, I would mark the crease line and / or eyelid with a darker tone, so that you get a contrast between the eye and the fringe.

If you have a dark hair color, I would mark the globe line with a shade that is not as dark as the hair. In the make-up in today's post, I have used a shadow that is darker than the skin tone (to get a marking effect on the eye) but which is lighter than the hair color. You can also make a smokey eye that is darker closest to the eye and becomes lighter up the globe line - eg black closest to the lashes, dark brown on the rest of the eyelid and light brown in the globe line. Then you can do a dark make-up but it is not as dark all the way up to the fringe.

Tip #3 - An eye makeup that lifts the gaze
The eyebrows lift the gaze, it actually lifts the whole face. When you have a fringe that covers the eyebrows, you can miss that effect - but another way to look up is to have the most focus on the top of the eyes.

Ex: If you put dark over and under the eye, the gaze opens / enlarges. If you put dark just over the eye, you lift your gaze.

In this make-up, I have therefore put only a little of the dark shadow under the eye to get a discreet selection, but I have the eyeliner and mascara only laid on top - to get that lift.

Tip #4 - Darkness under the eyes
As I said, a thick fringe can in some lighting create a shadow on the eyes, which emphasizes the depth you have underneath. Because even if you do not have bags or darkness under the eyes, almost everyone has a small depth just under the eye, which can look like a darkness when the shadow falls there.

So I usually lighten up a little extra under the eyes! You can either do it with a lighter concealer or you do it with a light contouring shadow if you use it for the rest of the face.

Here is a close-up of the result! What was fun with the fringe was that it shaded the photo light a bit, which made the glitter look good in the picture, in our salon light, the glitter always disappears in the picture otherwise.

Been sick? Make up yourself briskly with 9 steps!

Have you been ill for a long time? These are my best tips for putting on make-up (read healthy) again!

I'm terribly sorry for my radio silence here, I've basically been sick for 2 weeks (so I've been in bed) but in two different rounds, so I've had a few healthy days in between where I had to prioritize urgent things.

Now I'm healthy, but you can guess how I felt when I looked in the mirror: disgusting, tired and my skin has become complete chaos!

But beauty is truly wellness, not only for the exterior but for the interior as well! :) Here is a small step by step in how I went from "fresh and dull" to "alert and fresh" in less than an hour :)

Been sick? Make up your spirits again! before and after

I certainly felt uglier on the model than I look, but frizzy hair, really unclean skin with large pimples, plucked eyebrows and generally dull. Add a little fatigue to it - even though you are healthy, you will not get fit at once!

Beauty is wellness

But as I said, it's not just about the outside but about the feeling afterwards!

  1. Only nursing in itself releases dopamine and makes you feel better. Craft, clean and take care of, you need it!
  2. The inside is important, but if you see a tired and dull mirror image, you will definitely not be more alert in any case, most people probably agree?
  3. The feeling afterwards is quite unbeatable, to feel clean, nice and "restored". For me it's at least about the make-up actually, I felt 70% better already after the first steps before I put on my make-up even though those steps did not give a directly visible effect, because it's about the feeling :)

Been sick? Make up healthy again!

1. Pick the eyebrows.

Here I have first picked with tweezers and then I use one whetstone from my webshop (collapsible, very flexible in the make-up bag!) with which I clean small straws around the mold. I also usually take a little on the upper lip, say nothing to Zahra at the salon who works with threading, she would kill me;)

2. A hot shower! I peeled the body with a torn scrub and the face with a milder but very effective.

Been sick? sick of makeup?

3. Cleansing face mask!

Now here comes a product tip that I have been thinking about writing for a long time - Kick's own brand has a face mask called Warming Clay Mask which both cleans while not drying out like many other clay masks because it is also creamy, kind of a little oily. Very good! Do you want a longer review of it? I can fix!

Usually I usually use a clay mask first and then a moisturizer afterwards, but I did not have time for that on this day.

neat hair

4. Dry shampoo in the hair, it's also magic!

I did not wash my hair in the shower because it is actually quite freshly washed, I only get really fast hair if I do not have dry shampoo immediately after washing for preventive purposes. So it had already become messy.

Can tip about my post about Icas dry shampoo, read it if you use dry shampoo! :)

icas dry shampoo review

I pour in, do not skimp haha.

Tadaa! Here is another product tip, I have needed a perfume-free dry shampoo because my friend Monica has had respiratory problems. I tested then ICAS own brand for SEK 30 and it is above expectations!

Already here I felt a thousand times better :)

make up blemishes

5. Time for makeup! Colored face primer glo Skin Beauty Tinted Primer (Medium) which evens out the pores and gives a smoother tone.

concealer on blemishes

6. Concealer on blemishes - Pixi Pat Away Concealing Base (Cream)

Been sick? Make up your spirits again!

Spread with your fingertips!

7. The rest of the base - contouring, blush, eyebrows and luminous highlighter!

8. Eye makeup! What brightens up more than glitter? This is Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in the shade Rose Glow.

Been sick? Make up your spirits again!

9. And lipstick! Paese Silky Matt Liquid Lipstick in shade 707.

You will receive the make - up step by step in a separate post shortly!

Been sick? Make up your spirits again! healthy

There you go! Then I put on make-up healthy again, no more illness is visible! :) Can also tip about my post about 12 simple makeup tips.

Hugs are!

The podcast is live! - Really effective

I do not see myself mostly as a makeup artist but mainly as an entrepreneur in fact, so it's extra fun that the podcast I am now a sidekick in is not about beauty but about entrepreneurship!

A consultant guy in a suit and a "make-up girl", can it be such an instructive listening? Answer yes, actually haha! I think we complement each other well :) Tommy with his long experience as CEO and then several years of consulting work in both small, large and medium-sized companies. And so small I who recently made all the beginner mistakes but is driven by big goals and has learned extremely many lessons in a short time.

Nice contrast anyway! :)

About the podcast "Really Effective"

The pod is about running companies both for middle managers and for those who own the company! I also think it can be interesting if you are not a manager if you are interested in leadership, goals and becoming more effective as a person.

We cover topics related to leadership and staff, how to do to become more effective, about goals and how you reach the target image and the occasional anecdote creeps in too! :)

Episode 1 - Rights or responsibilities at work?

Getting responsible staff is not the easiest thing to do. You give a salary increase, gym card, free coffee, Friday coffee, occupational pension, bonus and commission, adapted schedules, etc. but still there are many managers who give and give and give but get nothing back. Tasks are not done, people blame themselves, expressions like "I have not had time" are thrown here and there. The employees are nagging about their rights but are not prepared to take the responsibility that the business requires.

This is not (usually not) due to poor staff or that the staff does not want to, most with few exceptions wants do a good job! But what does it depend on then? How do you get motivated staff who are satisfied and happy - while the business is functioning and efficient? This is our first episode about! :)

Note the example was general and is not about my cute team at the salon haha. However, I have made many mistakes myself during my 4 years as a manager and have had many employees who no longer work with us, I have managed to gather so much experience anyway! Wow what I learned!

You also get a little introduction about me and Tommy, it's a bit into the section because we jump directly into the subject. I listen to many podcasts and the first episode is always important but quite boring as everyone chats so much about what they will talk about later and has not really gotten warm in their clothes. We tried to avoid it and I think the first episode is good for being a first episode! :) 21 minutes long, it's just the right time!

Listen!

I think I managed to get the podcast to all places "where podcasts are", not to Spotify though :) Feel free to tell me if you miss it in any podcast app but I know that it is on Acast and Podcasts in any case, just that search for "Effective for real" and subscribe!

Here is a direct link to Acast if you do not have the app.

But you can also listen to the episode directly here in the blog:

Why did we start the podcast?

One day when sitting dumbfounded and listening to Tommy who always says such wise and inspired things, I said "you should start a podcast!”. It is difficult to stand out in the crowd of business consultants today and it is not only his methods that are good but mainly he as a person who is so good!

That's how he managed to get our little salon to make the big investment go ”the big package”With him with business development that stretched over a year, it was not something we were looking for but when we met him we realized how extremely much we needed it! I kind of think the company would not have survived for 4 years without Peragenda's help.

So the purpose of the podcast is for Tommy to show more of himself to his future customers and to inspire! It is difficult to bring out his personality on a website and social media when it comes to such longer topics :) And for me it is partly fun but above all instructive, I suck in that knowledge I can get!

So it is not intended that we will become huge and start making money with sponsors, etc., but do it because it is fun and too little marketing of ourselves :)

Here we sit and record episode 2 which will come next week if everything goes as planned! The first episode was recorded in the evening after a long meeting, but in the second episode we are more on the hook on a Friday morning! :) That episode will be about time, do we really have so little time or is it just about priorities?

I will be very happy if we get a response to the episode! ♥

Hugs are!

New Year's make-up step by step

Here comes my New Year's make - up step by step! If you have also been looking for the perfect eye shadow for New Year's Eve, I have a tip for you! :)

Paese Glitter Eyeshadow in the shade 06 Moonlight night is a black eye shadow with silver glitter. It is difficult to find glitter shadows that also have a nice formula and are rich in pigments, I think, but this series Paese has really succeeded with! The result is black and intense and there is enough glitter in the shadow for it to sparkle, but enough glitter for it to be easy to apply.

In today's make - up I have also used the light shade 01 Starless Gray from the same glitter series.

Hope you are inspired by my New Year's makeup step by step!
