It was completely impossible to catch up with a Sunday post last weekend because I had a completely packed schedule then, but this weekend is calmer. I got up early today and now sit freshly showered and wet my hair in big slippers and floral bathrobe with my cat Viktoria at my feet and today's 3rd cup of coffee next to me :)

I am a very enjoyable person, so nothing I "learned" but I have always been so since I went to school and did my homework in front of the wood stove and "fixed" before to get the mood by cleaning up, make a cup of tea ( in a large beer glass) and nagging my mother to take a bun, etc. My best friend Frida has always been a little amazed at the property of me, that I can light candles in the shower and think that a fragrant lotion on freshly shaved legs is among the best available. I feel a lot, haha.

In recent years, however, I have lost that ability a little, to not only be cozy around but actually enjoy it too! But it's come back this year and I'm so happy about it, I'm just lying in bed now and clicking on my computer but for me it's really COZY! I enjoy!! :)

Anyway, here's a little insight into my two weeks:

Pod cutting

I mentioned in last Sunday's post that I recorded a podcast with Tommy Einarö from Peragenda, now I have cut the episode, made a jingle, a podcast picture and decided podcast name!

The pod is ready for publication except that Miska is fixing a thing for the website that will be finished first. Tommy is talking about one of his trainings in the podcast section and that registration form will be fixed a bit.

So you can not listen to the first episode but it will be soon!

Effect really is called the pod! It is mostly Tommy's expertise that is in focus and I ask questions and share some personal experiences :)

Reports & meetings

I have spent a lot of time with numbers these weeks, I always do it every month and summarize the reports for October. But this time I also checked extra statistics and such follow-up, we have started to market more structured (with sponsored posts on Facebook and instagram) and when you spend a lot of money on something, it is important that you follow up so that the investment creates more value than cost.

Here I sit before our staff meeting and fix the last numbers before I would show the October results to the staff.

And here I am with the same report cash receipt another day :)

I work a lot from home with things where I just need to sit at the computer, but sometimes I become more efficient by changing environment. Here I sit on the throne in our staff room!

The staff room is used very little, however, mostly for childcare and meetings. Speaking of meetings, our salon is so self-sufficient now that it feels a bit much with an hour meeting every other week - in addition, we have personal meetings every other time as well, so then it is a total of 2.5 hours we sit in meetings.

But then I found in Quip (our communication program) a voting function! So everyone got to vote on this with meetings:

We call the staff meetings hug meetings (Constructive, Fun, All Employees) and personal meetings for kiss meetings (Personal Development Conversation) to make it sound a little more fun haha.

So from 2020 we will run one meeting per month which is then a total of 2.5 hours for me, Miska and Annika but for the staff it is 1 hour together and 30 minutes individually.

Meeting with my ev. future business partner!

I dare not shout hello until I have crossed the river, so instead of saying "I will start a make-up brand", I say that I am investigating the possibilities of starting my own make-up brand;)

But we have come a long way anyway, first of all I have found a good business partner to start this with and last Sunday we had a meeting and brainstormed for several hours. So worth it!

Who that person is is not official yet but I took a selfie at the café where we sat with the computer in full swing and took notes :)

I try to do as much work as possible that can be fixed already now, but the biggest job to start with is the product development itself and last Friday my first packaging samples finally arrived !!! Waah !!

One of the formulations is basically ready and I will now test it in the right packaging that has all the properties I want. So it is not clear with graphic design and such.

A small teaser;) The starting range will have three products to start with (as the plan looks now) and here I have the first sample of one of them in my hand! So with the right filling and packaging that can be the ultimate! It is so funny!!

Dog guard for customer at the salon

My hairdresser Monica wanted to fill in her lip tattoo at Ida but her dog has problems being alone, so on Thursday morning I worked at the computer from Monica's salon and had her cute shaggy dog at her feet <3

A task completely to my taste;)

Here I sit and fiddle with company names for my make-up brand. So damn hard! I had a name that I thought was spotless before, but for various reasons we will not choose it, so now I am a bit on square one.

Took a work break and treated myself to some dog kisses! :)

Christmas decorations & promotions

Christmas is waking up and we have done well at the salon! Before, we maxed out with Christmas decorations, but after the salon move, we could not save that much but sold most of it.

But this is how nice it is at the checkout!

We sell gift cards every month, but December is without a doubt the best gift card month!

I did not find a red pencil so "Merry Christmas" Miska has written with a lip pencil :)

Call light to your mobile

I saw advertising on a smart gadget that was very cheap on Amazon so I could not help but strike - call lights to the phone!

I take my make-up pictures with flash so it will not be good at all to take photos / film for insta story in that light, and we live in a small hut type with dark lighting and floral walls so it is not optimal.

But I have wanted to fix good light because it is so smooth with the mobile, that camera is great as long as it is good light!

Look so smart! At the bottom is a clamp so you can attach the light everywhere, on table edges, etc. Then there is a mobile holder and ring light with several different settings - you can choose cold, warm or neutral light and different levels of how strong the light should be.

As a bonus (had missed it when I ordered) it came with a remote trigger that is connected to the phone! Better than a selfie stick then :)

So now I have added a little more vivid material to my make-up:

Here I showed my glittery eyebrows and eyeliner made with Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in my webshop!

And here I even made a longer talk video, when I told about the makeup and like products I had used. The picture is a bit blurry because it is a print screen from my movie :)

It is also good to bring to the salon if I am going to take quick pictures there!

Face painting children

It was a long time since I took on a job like this, but last Saturday I actually sat at a Christmas market in Järlåsa and had children painted on their faces!

Conversation Between Me And A Type 6 Year Old Guy Who Wanted To Become A Zombie:
I - Do you want it to look like you have eaten a human?
Lillkillen - Jaaaaa!
I - * paint blood around the mouth that flows in the corner of the mouth *. Looks like you've eaten your brother now! (painted him to skull before)
Lillkillen - Yes, or grandmother .. Because she will die soon !!

And I could not stop laughing but laughed loud and long while the mother sat and was ashamed next to and was noticeably uncomfortable haha.

I have no pictures other than this because it is a bit sensitive to take pictures of other people's children (?) I thought.

Event with Real Techniques!

Last Friday I was at an event with Real Techniques and just realized that I only took movies from there for my insta story so I kind of have no material for the blog ..

But I was so happy on the way there:

Haha I went to the bus (like 15-20 min) and it started to whip-snow and I was soaked and cold and had fallen (do not realize that it was slippery) and hurt my hip quite a lot so felt like an old bitter sour old woman when I sat on the bus and hung off all my outerwear in the hope that they would have time to dry a little on the road.

But the event was really successful and I left with a smile and was glad that I did not return home due to bitterness haha! I'm not a person who usually complains but it was just too hard, then I realized that there are people without homes who are forced to be out and I was ready to cry by just going to a luxury event with bubble and goodie bag as well. Not ok haha!

Yes, those were the weeks! Varied crafts :) Has also been a babysitter so that Annika could take customer bookings and had some customers herself as well.

Update: When I started writing the post, I was sitting in bed at home, but now at the time of writing I am at the salon and donating while Miska takes permanent makeup clients! A new eyebrow tattoo and a return visit. He takes the opportunity to take customers on weekends when it is quiet here, on Saturdays only one more person works and on Sundays we are actually closed. So now he has taken customers both Saturday and Sunday. Good!!

But now I will take a free Sunday afternoon :)
