Green hair? 2 Best Hair Dyeing Tips!

How to get rid of green hair? You can get green shifts in your hair for several different reasons. Here are my 2 best hair coloring tips!

My 2 best tips for coloring green hair:

Metallic water - use ascorbic acid

A common reason is to shower in a metal-rich water, for example if you live in an older house with old pipes. You can not do much about it, other than moving or replacing all the pipes.

It can help to rinse the water a little before, e.g. that you shower your body or shave your legs first. Or be cheeky and always let someone else in the accommodation shower before hehe. But you will in any case get a lot of metals in your hair, more or less, no matter what you do. As I said, the metals can give green shifts in the hair, and also dry out the hair and it is not nice either.

It can also get green hair from pool water.

I have very metal-rich water with me, unfortunately. It is good for the hair to clean it out from time to time because as I said, the hair does not feel good from all metals. I also do it before hairdresser visits as color treatments can be different if you have a lot of metals in your hair.

That you should use ascorbic acid to get rid of green hair is nothing new, if you google green hair, the housewife tip will come up immediately. Now I have tested it myself and thought I would tell you how it went! :)

Ascorbic acid is a pure vitamin C that is most often used so that canned fruit such as jams and marmalades do not get a brown tone, but retain their natural color.

ascorbic acid hair

I have not had green shifts in my hair yet, I have quite a lot of red tones in my hair now since I dyed myself more autumnal. This means that a lot of green is required for it to turn green.

Red and green are complementary colors that neutralize each other. However, much of the red tones have disappeared so I suspect that some metals have accumulated in the hair now. Time for a cleanup! :)

home tips against green shifts in the hair

There are a few different recommendations on how much ascorbic acid to have, but here's what I did:

1. Mix 2 tablespoons of ascorbic acid with 1 liter of water.
Stir well.
3. Shower your hair with shampoo (always 2 times)
4. Slowly, slowly pour the ascorbic acid water over your head, massaging it into your hair at the same time with your other hand. Beware of the eyes.
Let it work for a while, I shaved my legs and stuffed in between.
6. Rinse your hair and finish with conditioner as usual.

And do not make the same mistake as me and mix the ascorbic acid with lukewarm water, it felt icy cold when standing in the hot shower!

It's a little hard to say how big the difference was because I did not have green hair, but I actually think it looks redder again so I give this housewife tip two thumbs up! :)

Get rid of green hair with pink / red wrapping

You can also get green hair from silver shampoo, because blue and yellow turn green.

Or as I did, dyed the hair turquoise and when it was washed out, the hair did not become nice turquoise anymore but a dull moldy green tone. Not just some green shifts right away.

Another housewife tip is to remove with ketchup. Why? As I mentioned, green is neutralized by red.

Ketchup is not a particularly sustainable solution. But there is a sustainable solution - color packaging!

Then I applied red paint wrap and look at the result:

The packaging Maria Nila Color Refresh Autumn Red (adlink) is great! I have used it a lot, even when I was completely redheaded. Pink also works, I have used Maria Nila Color Refresh Pink Pop (adlink) also and also it works brilliantly. Both red and pink neutralize green.

To get rid of this much green hair, I used the wrap directly in the hair. But if you only have green shifts, mix in just a click in your hair wrap or conditioner.

Today's look - Glasses

I always feel a little "bad" when I show super simple make-up here in the blog, but it is often the ones that are most useful for you in everyday life so I hope you do not feel the same as me! :)

Today's look is a perfect I-do-not-have-time-in-the-morning make-up. Wear a pair of colorful glasses and match with a lipstick in the same color - fast, easy and really nice!

Fake glasses are a great accessory, I think, even for you who need glasses with strength, you can use lenses underneath and pretend that you have a whole wardrobe at home with different glasses, although this is a much cheaper alternative;)

My Sanctum skin care

I am an extreme nature lover and always try to choose organic as much as my wallet and range allow, and I am so happy that I can do my daily beauty routines without a guilty conscience for what I flush down the drain!

At the beginning of the year, I started using Sanctum's hair care and skin care, and I'm still incredibly happy with the products! So now that the skin care is also in webshop so I thought I would post about the products I use for my skin type. But I want to emphasize that I have tested all products to test how they feel, even those that do not fit my skin :)

I write my entire skin care routine even though not all products are in the webshop yet, but they will be coming soon, they are only delayed in delivery!

slide2

My skin type:
I have a mixed skin that is sensitive and oily. I do not have direct problems with acne (usually just a single pimple on the face) except for stress pimples that come in periods. I can also get dry in some areas so that I flake off, at the same time as I also get oily in these areas during the day. I easily turn red in the face, and am always red-flamed around the nose.

My Sanctum routine:
Since my skin is both sensitive and oily, I do not use products for only one type of skin type, but choose a milder cleanser for sensitive skin, and during the day a face cream for oily skin as it should not contain oil.

Morning:
Cleaning - Soothing Cream Cleanser
Toner - Sanctum Tone & Refresh Mist
Day Cream - Sanctum Moisture Balance Oil Free

(I do not wash my face with water every morning, but sometimes only clean with toner and cotton. Water dries out the skin a bit which can start the oil production in the skin even more, so I try to skip it sometimes)

During the day:
Toner - Sanctum Tone & Refresh Mist (spray form, good hydration during the day!)

Evening:
Cleaning - Soothing Cream Cleanser
Toner - Sanctum Tone & Refresh Mist
Night Cream - Sanctum Night Conditioning Cream

About once a week:
Peeling - Sanctum Gentle Face Exfoliant
Face Mask - Sanctum Hydrating Gel Mask

Spot treatment:
Directly on pimples to calm them and to make them disappear faster, I use "Sanctum On The Spot" which is super good on stress pimples, especially on bad inboarders that both me and Miska get a part in periods!

These products are in the webshop right now!

My end result
Since I started using Sanctum, I first noticed that my skin became calmer, I am always very red and flaming in the face, but even though it is still there, I have a much smoother skin tone, which is really nice! Since my acne periods are due to stress and not to the skin itself, I have not gotten better skin on that front, but I really notice that the pimples disappear faster and do not flare up as irritated so I have been really spoiled by now :) I never have dry areas anymore and it feels like the skin is in balance!

What I am mainly looking for is a skin care that cleanses the skin properly and moisturizes a lot, while it should fit under makeup (not be sticky or similar) and should also work with my oily skin. And all these properties have Sanctum :)

General information about the products
I think the products are really great to use, 100% naturally sounds like you should lubricate yourself with thick creams that never go into the skin type, but everything feels like regular skin care with light creams that quickly go into the skin and leave a smooth and wonderful feeling. The products are extremely expensive and last a long time, the only thing I have run out of so far is a cleaning, where I am inside my other.

Sanctum contains no added fragrances (not natural fragrances either) and you feel that it is a natural fragrance that differs slightly between all products. I think this is good, I'm a little tired of everything smelling of fruit and also natural fragrances have a tendency to get a strong and pungent scent which I do not like. The only product that smells strong is On The Spot, but you only have a little of it on your face where you have pimples. It smells like a mixture of mild tiger balm and resin :)

Click on each individual product in the webshop if you want to read more, where it is clear which active ingredients the product contains and which skin types it is suitable for!

Creative Make Up

Today, as I said, I was on a return visit to Annika at Creative Make Up who have done all my cosmetic tattoos, and this time we were going to fill in my eyebrows that I got tattooed at the end of the summer.

And while the anesthesia worked, I took the opportunity to take some photos in the salon to show you! :)

Creative Make Up used to be on Kungsgatan 41 (the same room as my hairdresser, Creative Zone) but moved in June to a completely own salon on Storgatan 23 C (the intersection Storgatan / Vaksalagatan, just on the corner) and it's so nice there!

When you come in and look to the left, the salon itself is there and to the right you can sit down if you are early.

And here the magic happens under the tattoo needle! :)

This is what my eyebrow looks like right now, newly tattooed, sharp and red. In about a week you will see the end result after healing / return visit / healing :)

By the way, I got a question in my previous post, if there is an 18-year age limit at the salon. I asked Annika about it and there is no such age limit, but most people under 18 usually have a guardian with them anyway.
