My business week v. 40

Most people say "finally Friday"At the end of the week but my reaction was"vaa it's friday again? ” Lol :)

The week has gone unusually fast, it may in itself be due to the fact that I had zero control over the weekdays after the holidays because Thursday (the first working day) felt like Monday and then I worked on Saturday as well so it got crazy in my head.

But today is Sunday and I am in control of the situation again!

Reminded of his target image every day
There have been some private things that have drained me of energy lately and then it is extra important to take advantage of all moments in everyday life, and luckily I am an expert at it;) I love small things that mean things and spreads a little extra warmth and joy.

One such thing is that I have now started with lit candles and coffee every morning when I put on my make-up (have had a break from that routine during the hot summer) and now I also have another dot-over-the-factor in the make-up room: shells from Tarifa!

We loved Tarifa in Spain and both felt that "this is HERE we will have our foreign house in the future! And it's so much fun, now we've found it like!

On the beach there were many large and completely flat snails, I usually never take snails home from beaches but this was an exception because I got a little "mother" in me who always thought "but this can be used for anything" and saved on everything haha, but also because it felt significant with something from the favorite beach where we will stay in the future;)

Pretty quickly I figured out what to use them for - to mix makeup on! Many people use an old tile or similar when they mix e.g. eyeliner but now I run my Tarifa shells and am reminded every day of my new life goal - buying a house in Tarfia. So good!

It is of course cleaned properly and I have sprayed them as well. Was afraid that it would start to grow worms in the eyes or reached haha. We have to keep our fingers crossed;)

Cinnamon Bun Day & show their appreciation to colleagues
Last Thursday we had a staff meeting (or hug meeting as we call it = kunstructive, roligt, alla medarbetare) in the morning and since it was Cinnamon Bun Day, Miska and I all invited cinnamon buns :)

Before we started with the salon and employees, I said "I will be such a good manager who offers cake every Friday!" Lol. But in practice it did not happen because in the beginning we were so few people so everyone worked different times and "tried to be useful" etc. and now that we are more so you are so in all routines that you forget all the little extra details like one thought was important in the beginning.

I think it is very important to show appreciation to colleagues and I do it a lot but I will try to do it even more, because it will mostly be little things like "I can fix your dishes" if I eat lunch while someone and small positive comments / feedback in passing as "how nice the make-up was on your first customer!" and stuff. Yes and then big important things of course but now I talk small "extra stuff" :) But I would like to be a manager who spends even more time on that.

One idea I asked everyone this week is that we should introduce a "monthly letter" that I write at the end of each month. There I can summarize practical info but above all positive things and pep! I imagine that everyone is helped to regularly write down good things that you see someone else do and at the end of the month I compile all of these and send out a little love bomb!

Wouldn't that be great? :)

M-development
I wrote before that we are in the starting blocks to start our own make-up brand, it is a special niche / concept you could say. But it takes an incredible amount of time and I have realized that I have to physically book time to work with it in order for it to get as much as I want and need - because I always have a long to do list and things like "scream Would like to come first.

But now I have booked certain times where I will sit with this regardless of whether I have something else important on my to-do list or not! Then of course I will work more with this than that but then I know that it will at least be a certain number of hours a week :)

The name of the brand will start with M (it is at least our working name right now) so M development is now on the schedule for at least 2 hours almost every day!

One detail that is both positive and difficult is that when things go well, I get so over-excited that I can no longer focus haha. The brain starts to go at full speed and I suddenly say things like "design feet" instead of "design packages". So 2 hours at a time is quite enough, then I have time to get started and do a lot but then it will be for fun and then it's time to stop;)

968 BILLION in card payment
This week has been very much about getting started after the holidays and fixing "month-end stuff" such as payrolls and financial reports. I have a whole checklist of things I do at the beginning of each month.

When I sat with the statistics for September, I suddenly sat with my mouth open and staring at the report. One of the days when we were on holiday, there was a big mistake at the checkout haha.

It was stated that the card payments of the month were over 968 billion! It goes well for us but not SO well;) How could it be so wrong? And there was not even a note about it at the end of the day haha. The answer to the question was not as complicated as I first thought (a barcode that happened to be entered as a sum) but it is lucky that we double check the stuff before they are sent to our finance girl haha :)

Had not been completely wrong with such long sums on the monthly report, in the future maybe mihihi.

Kissing meetings & letting go of responsibility
After the hug meeting, I also had kiss meetings with the staff (kiss = ppersonal udevelopmentssamtal) where I talk to one person at a time. We started work on personal development last year and have come a long way with everyone developing with their own responsibility across different areas, learning new tasks, following up every month, etc.

But the more time passes, the more we realize (and it is quite logical) that personal development means different things to different people. If you are going to develop more, what does that mean for you? And wow already after the first meeting, there have been so many good ideas!

I have previously thought a lot "how can the staff develop more?" and peppered with ideas but I have really learned that I have to let go of the reins .. I think I'm a little afraid that people will think I demand too much. I want everyone to have fun at work and develop so that they do not stand like robots and do the same thing every day and get bored, but then I have thought that it is my job that they should develop and as if tried to "do it for them ”. I feel good serving all the ideas, suggestions and routines on the silver platter but it also takes away some of the fun for everyone else.

It is just as much their salon and for them to feel it, you have to get some freedom and responsibility yourself. Everyone gets more pissed and I get more results even though I do less haha. So it really is a win-win! :)

Miska took a picture of me (and Olga in the background) when I have just picked up coffee and am on my way to the office. It may illustrate me when I let go of the reins and walk around in mystoflor and drink coffee while my colleagues work independently haha!

In addition to this, I have e.g. had 7 customers, trying to make a long-term solution with better schedules and reception time, campaign pictures for October and new pictures for our screen in the waiting room, emailed lots here and there and changed some info and pictures on the website.

I have also continued to work at home in bed most evenings and got a lot of things done thanks to it, but it has also resulted in me not being able to get up as early in the morning to do step-by-step make-up so at that point I have not been the most diligent person this week. It is always reached;)

Now I'll fix lots at home in the house this Sunday! Hope you had a great week too!

Hugs are ♥

Bale makeup step by step

This make-up is a look that I think many people would feel comfortable in if you are going to an extra neat event but at the same time do not want to be super-made-up.

I myself had this a completely ordinary everyday life but I can imagine that many would also like it as a nice ball make-up or bridal make-up :)

  1. Red lips always work and are perfect when you want to feel extra fixed! I have a red lip pencil + colored red lip balm, but you can skip the pen completely even if you want a more discreet red tone.
  2. Dark gray eyeliner instead of black = not an equally hard make-up. A pen that can also be easily sooted if you want an even more "soft" feeling.
  3. Bright silver glitter! Brightens up the look and makes the whole make-up more festive in a quick, easy and fun way.

Here is also a step-by-step description and all products can be bought in the same place - my web shop creativemakeup.se! :)

Colored face primer - glo Tinted Primer spf 30 (Medium)
Concealer - Pixi Pat Away Concealing Base (1 Cream)
Foundation - glo Pressed Base Foundation (Golden medium)
Powder that neutralizes redness - glo Redness relief powder
Contouring - Contouring Palette (2)
Rouge - Blush (35)
Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist
Powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Eyebrows - glo Micro Brow Liner (Raven)

Lip pencil - Benecos Natural Lip Liner (Red)
Colored lip balm -
Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm (Scarlet Sorbet)

What do you think? :)

  1. Paint a line with gray eyeliner from the outer corner of the eye and obliquely upwards, Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen (Slate Gray)
  2. Paint an eyeliner wing over that line and continue onto the entire upper fringe
  3. Silver-white eye shadow in the corner of the eye and under the eyeliner, Paese Opal Trio Eyeshadow (Ice Queen)
  4. Light eye shadow on the inside of the eyelid, Paese Kashmir eyeshadow (667)
Brown eyeshadow at the end of the eyelid, Paese Kashmir eyeshadow (604)
Light eyeliner along the waterline and slightly down the lower lash line, glo eye pencil (Peach)
  5. Silver glitter in the corner of the eye and over the eyeliner, Mood Wood Natural Glitter (Silver) attached with Kryolan Cake Liner Sealer.

My business week v.39

I am back! :)

It will be a short business post this Sunday because we came home from Spain on Wednesday night so I have only worked 3 days this week - but it was really a kickstart after the holidays!

If we had a good time? Incredibly good! What a panic it was !! :) I have been asked to make a post about the whole trip because several have seen my insta stories and become curious about how it works to rent a car in Spain and tips on sights, etc. if you are going to make a similar trip yourself. So I do not write much about the trip here, but you who are eager to read more will get a full post about it soon instead!

Did the company survive our holiday?
I had so unusually extremely many catastrophic thoughts before the trip, but you know what? I came home to a living cat, a house left on the ground and happy colleagues and happy customers! Pjuh haha.

During the holidays I have answered the most important emails and been available when needed but I have almost been 100% free in fact! We have put a lot of focus on the "daily activities" in the company being self-sustaining without us and we are starting to see more and more that it gives results! My colleagues are so heavenly talented! :)

I just had to take a picture of Norwegian's flight magazine when we were on the plane, I flipped through and suddenly Maria Strömme appeared! :) It is she who is the nanoprofessor who developed the new topic Upsalite that I blogged so much about before, it was through her that I started doing consulting work for Upsalite and I last made her up just a few days before this :) Such a power woman!

Back to work
Before I went on holiday, I kind of drowned in my to-do list and it was not mainly urgent things but I just really did not want stuff that lagged behind when I came back. IF I was grateful for that now? Really worth gold!

You have a lot to deal with as it is still after 2.5 weeks away from work.

When I sat in the car on the way to the salon before the first working day, it did not feel difficult at all, I was aware of the situation as well :)

Treated me to a Celsius on the way to work last Thursday - to kickstart the kickstart as well;)

Lots of customers & Saturday jobs
On Thursday and Friday, I grazed on all the "admin work" needed to get back on track after the holidays. And I also had some regular customers waiting for me to come back.

Last Saturday, our makeup artist Lisa (who usually works every Saturday) was on Hairology training, so I took her Saturday this week and had a bridal makeup, a makeup consultation and an eyebrow client. So it was only 4 hours at the salon and then I went home and continued working at the computer at home in bed.

Autumn event!
We kicked off the first working day on Thursday with events in the evening! We had a beauty event together with Art Clinic and some other companies in the industry and it was so successful!

Since it was my first day of work, I had prepared everything before I left, with signs, packing lists, winnings, offers, areas of responsibility, etc. so I barely needed to lift a finger now because the staff packed everything last so I just went there and set up everything , so awesome ♥

There were a lot of guests who were happy to talk and interested and asked a lot of questions and then I'm in my element, I love talking to people! :)

I only took a few quick pictures just when the event started because I was full then!

Here is Annika with the little baby's belly talking about permanent makeup and showing pictures of lip tattoo on the screen next to her :)

We received a lot of bookings and had a really nice evening! I love the feeling after events, you are happy and full of energy from all the nice people and wonderful laughs - at the same time as you are completely finished after all the work you put in and the long and intense day. Tired but satisfied :)

Active rest
Rest and recovery are very important to feel good! For me, different types of rest are needed, you can divide it into physical rest and mental rest.

Sometimes you need to rest by, for example, lying on the couch and watching a movie for a whole day, ie physical rest where you simply do nothing at all. But I have a period now where I need more active rest = you are free but do fun things that remove thoughts from work and musts while I am physically active!

I felt this extremely much on our Spain trip where we stayed in 9 different hotels for 16 days and experienced lots of new places and impressions. It was absolutely perfect timing right now! Last winter I needed physical rest - then we were in Mexico and just ate, bathed and sunbathed and I felt SO good about it then! And now I need mental rest where my body was active but my brain had a holiday and I felt SO good about it now.

I have worked so much in recent years that I have been a bit "obsessed" with being home when I am free. I have hardly wanted to hang out with people so as not to "miss the weekend", completely sick. But as an entrepreneur, you already have a vague boundary between work and private life and for a while everything felt planned as a job or a must, even though it was just fun things. It became like "another thing on the to-do list" no matter what it was. But now that has started to get easier, which I think is great fun!

I heard Bert Karlsson talk about it in the business podcast a long time ago too, he plays Flipper to get the brain to relax and thinks everyone should have it in the staff rooms haha. Wonderful idea I think :) It's a bit the same principle, it gives mental rest.

Therefore, I now have a huge desire to plan things on the weekends, which is not at all like me, such as going out and dancing and going far to meet old friends. So fun! I actually feel more alert after this trip than when I just lay and lazed for 2 weeks in Mexico haha.

Life should have more mountains and less stress - so you do not understand how wonderful I felt in nature in Spain! I had not understood before how extremely mountainous it is in southern Spain? Just looking out the window when we drove what a magic!

Yesterday when I had finished working I had physical rest - watched a series in the bathtub ♥

And today I will have an active rest as I will first go to a small animal market with Annika who will possibly buy more hens and then I will continue this eternity project with firewood for the winter!

Hugs are! :)
