My business week v.24

This week has been the most educational week in a long time because Annika and I have been to a permanent makeup conference in Milan!

Biotek Worldwide Event 2018
It was the big brand Biotek that organized the fair and it was people from all over the world who traveled there. I love learning new things, even if I do not tattoo myself, it is important for me to know as much as possible about permanent makeup because I am a partner and am responsible for much of the marketing.

Above all, it's a great inspiration - whether we're talking about make-up or a tattoo! :)

I have to admit that it itched my fingers a bit and I thought the thought several times "maybe I should start tattooing myself too" but if you want to be good, it really requires 100% commitment - and I do not have to put that in just one area. BUT I know so much about permanent makeup that I have to try making an eyebrow on a fake skin at some point, have unreasonably good self-confidence about how beautiful it would be already on the first try (humble I know) and have even dreamed that I tattooed the eyebrows on James Blunt haha!

Biotek is a brand from Italy and Annika uses some of their colors but also some other brands. It's like with make-up - you find your favorites!

It was an incredibly upset fair / conference! It all started with a gala dinner and the next few days there were lectures on a conveyor belt.

Many of my pictures are taken on the big screen because there were 500 people there (if I remember correctly) so it would have been impossible to see if they were not filming at the same time.

Here above you see when they show how the production of permanent makeup colors goes. They have their own lab and manufacture all colors in their factory. All colors consist of different pigments (eg yellow, red and black to get different shades of brown) and among other things they have an advanced machine that combines the color pigments into one and the same molecule - which is great because otherwise the colors can fade different fast. For example. There are many customers who in other salons get very red eyebrows after a year or so, and that is because then mostly only the red pigments are left. But that does not happen with our colors.

Biotech is also very careful that the colors are healthy for the body, not absorbed into the lymphatic system and things like that. So the founder of Biotek demonstrated this by mixing lots of permanent makeup paint in a glass of water and drank everything on stage haha! So sure you can drink it :)

Biotek has launched a special needle for lip tattoo that should be super good and showed a live demo of lip tattoo with that needle.

You could even put on a mouth guard and go into a room where lots of talented permanent makeup artists tattooed live. Everything from lips to eyebrows, smoky eyeliner and scalp tattoo.

The most fun was seeing all the tips, step by step and live eyebrow tattoos! There are so many different techniques for how to place the straws, draw the shape, etc. so it will never be boring to hear a new lecturer.

The only thing I'm a little "against" are people who just go after one template, I usually find it visible on permanent makeup artists who do the same brow on everyone. The best thing in my opinion is to follow the person's own hair growth as much as possible, fill in more where it is missing and also do in the same direction as the strands grow :) A whole science indeed!

We got to see sooty eyeliner live too, it's so much fun with people who want to make a lot of eyeliner! The most common is to do more naturally otherwise.

I was asked (and almost tried to persuade) to be a model for smoky eyeliner there haha, but I can not have so much permanent makeup because I blog about makeup. It's hard to have to remove makeup every time I do a look without eyeliner, in addition I can not test makeup eyeliners in the same way if I already have a black eyeliner underneath. So I had to kindly decline :)

You were completely exhausted after every day because there was translation into English in headphones when they spoke other languages, so you really had to make an effort to hear what was said in the headphones because there was such an extremely high sound level in the speakers from the microphone so it still overheard as well as.

At one point, the interpreter in the headphones could not translate the language that the lecturer spoke, so first a person translated into Italian and then English came into the headphones. So there were 3 different languages spoken at the same time haha. You were completely dizzy after that!

During the breaks, they had some exhibition stands, among other things, you could look at all the shades of their permanent makeup colors!

Annika was also very happy with the trip so it was really successful :) We had time for a few hours on the last day but otherwise it was 100% business trip. But I really want to go back to Italy and travel around more sometime.

Home sweet home
Once we got home, it was mostly customers, reception jobs, computer jobs and individual staff calls (which we try to have every / every other month) that were on the agenda. So nothing that I directly have pictures of. But it has been full!

But I have a lot to catch up on and have therefore worked to catch up in the evenings (last Friday, for example, I worked at home in bed until midnight), which has not been completely uncomplicated with a cuddly kiss miss that has missed me for several days;)

So here I am editing a picture and scrolling on the computer, yet she is lying straight on my hand completely undisturbed :) A determined little lady this!

Incidentally, it was crazy disturbing with the particular post I was working on in the picture above, because I reviewed a bronzer that I got a press sample of very recently and so just when I was done and would link "buy this" I saw that it certainly was Limited Edition and sold out just about everywhere. Jahaja that was the wasted time :) So it can go!

I have a lot of energy and inspiration after this week, I feel! So nice! Such a period where I listen a lot to podcasts with successful people and can take all the tips with me. Powerful is the word!

Next week I will probably get lots done I feel :)

Have a nice Sunday! ♥

Soft colorful summer makeup - Romantic summer makeup

Today's make-up was a mixture of lots of different shades here and there, I like make-up where not everything feels very planned with "light on the inside and dark on the outside" just but there are a few different tones here and there. Great fun to do!

A soft summer make-up, colorful but soft at the same time! I got a lot of compliments from my customers at the salon too, always just as fun :)

Hope you like the makeup too!

Colored face primer - glo tinted primer spf 30 (Medium)
Concealer -
 glo Under eye concealer (Beige)
Powder that neutralizes redness - glo Redness relief powder
Contouring - Contouring Palette (2)
Rouge - Blush (35)
Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist
Powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Brynpenna - glo Skin Beauty Micro Brow Liner (Raven)

Lipsticks - glo Lip Pencil (Coral Crush) on the entire lips and slightly with (Vino) in the contours, for a fuller effect.

I was very happy with the colors on the top and often you want to stay then, but it is fun to change completely on the bottom also where I suddenly added blue and orange which are colors I do not have at all on the eyelid. Fun to break with something completely different!

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
Orange-pink (?) Eye shadow at the bottom of the globe line, Paese cashmere trio eyeshadow (681)
  2. The same shadow at the end of the eyelid
  3. Light eye shadow on the eyelid and in the corner of the eye, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (667)
  4. Brown eyeshadow at the end of the eyelid and along the crease line (though not as far out as the fading of the orange-pink) Paese cashmere eyeshadow (604)
  5. Yellow eye shadow as eyeliner with wing (though not the whole wing), Paese neo eyeshadow (661) mixed with Pixi makeup fixing mist
  6. Brown eyeliner below the yellow line + wing (though not filled wing), Paese cashmere eyeshadow (604) mixed with Pixi makeup fixing mist
Light eye shadow under the eyeliner, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (667)
  7. Blue eye shadow at the bottom of the lower lash line, Paese Opal Eyeshadow (Frost bite)
  8. Orange eyeshadow at the bottom of the lower lash line, Paese neo eyeshadow (662)
  9. Black mascara on all lashes, Magnetic lash mascara

Clear!

The light waterline in the eye is tattooed so I have it permanently, for exactly the same result as this make-up you can supplement with glo Eye Pencil (Peach)

I do not usually paint the lipstick like this far beyond my own contours and do you know what I noticed? I have such oily skin and because I had lipstick so far out on the normal skin, the lipstick got a glossy edge on the upper lip after a while, like I put a lip gloss only in the contours! I had to powder my lips 3 times during the working day haha.

Hope you were inspired :) Hugs! ♥

Curly hair with volume

I have never received so many compliments for my hair as now that I have become blonde again, great fun! And the recurring question lately is "how did you do your curls?".

As you know, I am eager to permanent my hair so that I do not have to make my hair curly on my own all the time. But since it is freshly bleached, exactly every single hairdresser is about 100% skeptical of this haha so I have not dared it really yet.

In the meantime, I take care of my hair as much as I can with wraps and a very gentle way to curl your hair - baked-in braids!

The curls you get from regular braids have never been something I felt really good in, but there is a big difference between regular braids and baked-in (or baked-out) braids. When you make a baked braid, the curls only come from the scalp and it looks more like natural curls and you also get that nice volume!

I want to emphasize that the length of the hair and the bleached structure make it easier for the hair to become so fluff-curly. I am not saying that all hair can get this result.

If I had done the same thing when my hair was completely untreated and long (so = a little heavier and not as malleable), it probably would not have been this effect as quickly and easily.

1. Make two baked-in (or baked-out) braids in the evening
Whether I have freshly washed hair or not, I have in Hair Shine & Gel before I braid my hair, then the curls become more defined and fine when I let my hair out in the morning.

Shine & Gel is a gel that gives shine and stability to the hair, it does not contain silicones and does not make the hair frizzy (but you should still be quite sparse, small clicks go a long way!). Without it, the hair looks fresher. I want big and curly hair - but it should still look healthy :)

On my tops it works to have a regular tassel, but there are smaller cords that you can use if you get marks or straight tops from regular tassels.

The only thing you need to learn before is to make a baked-in or baked-out braid on yourself, but you should only sleep with it so it does not have to be nice as long as you make the braid end up higher on your head. So that's good!

There are probably lots of movies on how to do if you watch youtube, but if you can make a regular braid, you can probably learn yourself quite quickly, I did. You do it in the same way as usual but take a little more hair for each loop. And as I said - it does not have to be nice!

2. Sleep with the braids -> let your hair out in the morning.

This is what the hair looks like when you have just released the braids. No wow effect directly;)

3. Ruffle your hair
I spray dry shampoo that gives a little volume (Hairdresser Dry Shampoo) and then I turn my head upside down and massage the dry shampoo into the scalp and "rough up" the volume.

But I only work with the fingers in the scalp, not in the lengths. The curls are already mild so if you brush your hair it will be more fluffy than "fluff-curly" if you understand what I mean? :) If you need to separate the curls more, you can test the headbang a bit instead.

Usually I do not finish with hair spray, but if it is humid air outside, it can be a good idea. Apart from dry shampoo, I have not used any more volume product, but if you have heavier hair, you can probably have a volume mousse after the shower or similar.

And then it looks like this! I like that it becomes lively but still not too "fixed", it is a happy hairstyle in some way that works for all occasions and outfits.

Making two baked braids in the evening takes a little while, but it struck me just how extremely much faster and smoother it is than many other methods I have tried - such as tying small knots, various sock techniques etc. that did not work at all on my hair. Like when I blogged on Modernmom.se and wrote this post or worse this post when the hair became disaster-bad haha!

Why has no one just tipped me about baked braids before? :)

Hugs are! ♥

Sun protection & bronzer in the décolleté

You have to be careful with sunscreen all over the body, of course, but in the way of makeup, the cleavage is an important issue that I have to address in time now in early summer.

Darker (and often red) tan in the décolleté
It's starting to be the time of year when it's tricky to test foundation shades on people and I'll explain why. If you are careless with sunscreen and spend a lot of time out in the sun, the cleavage will usually be much darker because it is exposed to the sun most of the whole body. When you are dressed, the cleavage is often open anyway, and if you sit in the sun you often have sunglasses, make-up and do not look straight at the sun all the time so the face does not get the same color.

On many, the tan on the décolleté also gets a very red tone, because even if you do not feel that you have burned yourself, the skin is very sun-damaged there.

Difficult to choose foundation shade
When you are going to test a foundation color, it is important that the décolleté and the face are the same, more important than matching with the neck, I think. But if you have a light skin tone and slaves with the sunscreen as I wrote above, you often get a light neck, a tan tone on the face and a darker reddish brown tone on the décolleté. Not a completely easy combo.

If you then match the décolleté in the dark, it will feel too dark on the person's face, and in addition, almost all foundations seem to be the wrong undertone because you compare with the red décolleté. And if you match the foundation exactly with the color of the neck or face, it looks too bright compared to the décolleté.

What do you do about the above problems? Use sunscreen on the cleavage already at the beginning of the summer! :) Then you avoid that makeup problem completely.

Bronzer in the décolleté
A quick and easy trick if you want extra tan is to use bronzer in the cleavage! It does not take much and it goes SUPER FAST with a large, soft makeup brush. Then you can use spf 50, you avoid damaging the fragile décolleté skin and still look tanned and fresh! Good, is not it? ;)

This is what I do every day for a month now, sweep on quickly with sun powder on the neck and décolleté (not too dark, it should blend in with the rest of the body as well) and then a little up on the jawbones so that it blends in with my contouring of the face. An extra large brush makes it go faster, I use Nanshy Powder Brush, a blush brush takes longer.

Tip! We rear out the bronzer palettes from Pixi in the webshop! SEK 299 for 6 shades (ordinary price SEK 369) in both shimmery and matte tones, so luxurious to vary I think :) Eg. has one of the shadows gold shimmer in it, so nice!

Hug!

Peach gold eyeshadow tutorial

The peach golden eye shadow that I have in the corner of my eye and as an eyeliner wing in this make-up, I am so in love with! Could have it exactly every day! :)

A tip to make shimmery shadows more metallic is to apply them with a moistened brush, and I usually spray on fixing mist instead of moistening with water so it becomes more durable. But I still always use primer underneath as well.

Hope you like the look too!

Colored face primer - glo tinted primer spf 30 (Medium)
Concealer -
 glo Under eye concealer (Beige)
Powder that neutralizes redness - glo Redness relief powder
Contouring - Contouring Palette (2)
Rouge - Blush (35)
Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist
Powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Brynpenna - glo Skin Beauty Micro Brow Liner (Raven)

Lip pencil - glo Lip Pencil (Java) in the contours
Lipstick - glo Suede Matte Crayon (Monogram) in the middle

Before, I used a lot of brown and "my lips but better" colors, but lately I have used more colorful shades such as pink, dark pink, coral and red. But now I am completely in the browner tones again, I feel so heavenly nice in it!

I like the eye makeup because it was fun to do, with a little different shifts and small pills, but still the whole was not super-made up but quite neutral in the tones :)

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
  2. Peach golden eye shadow in the corner of the eye, glo Shadow Quartet (Rebel angel) (applied with fixing mist-moistened brush)
  3. The same eye shadow as an eyeliner wing
  4. Black eye shadow in the lower part of the eyeliner, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (602)
  5. White eye shadow under the eyeliner, in the corner of the eye and on the inside of the eyelid, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (601)
  6. Light eye shadow on the rest of the eyelid, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (667)
Brown eyeshadow along the globe line, Paese Contouring palette (no 2) (same as on the face)
  7. Brown eye shadow under the eye as well
  8. Black mascara on the upper lashes, Magnetic lash mascara

The light waterline in the eye is tattooed so I have it permanently, for exactly the same result as this make-up you can supplement with glo Eye Pencil (Peach)

Now I have become completely used to being blonde (it took a while hehe) and feel that this hairstyle is so I am! Great fun :) The only thing I have done is to sleep with two baked-in braids (or baked-out is the name of the variant I think) then in the morning I spray in dry shampoo and ruffle around, and with each passing day my hair becomes fluffier and fluffier - which I love!

I had decided to make my hair permanent even though all hairdressers advise against it when you have bleached your hair, but now that I have cut to this length and bleached, I get a bit the same effect from just braids so I think I might let go permanently- thoughts. Because it's this little curly and sloppy I want to eat, a little Carrie Bradshaw / Christine Meltzer / Shakira type :)

Even if I put it in a quick sloppy knot now, it still looks lively, so nice!

Now I'll stop chatting :) Hope you like the whole look and continue to be inspired by my pictures! I get so happy every time I get a comment ♥

Hugs are!
