Video - Contouring tutorial with Pixi Contour Creator

I hold a lot of make-up consultations at the salon and contouring is probably the part that most people feel a little lost with, regardless of whether you use a little or a lot of make-up before.

Namely, there are slightly different guidelines depending on what you use for the product and what you want to achieve for results. Some on instagram and social media do so much with contouring that it is hardly the same person anymore, and exactly where to apply and how to work with the brushes is a little different depending on whether you use cream contouring or powder, a matte highlighter or a shimmery etc

This is how I put together a video with the ultimate contouring palette Pixi Contour Creator which contains all the shadows you need for a flawless contouring, both for everyday and for parties! :)

In the video, I explain, among other things, the difference between the different shadows and how they are used, show how I do contouring to emphasize the facial features (ie not to change appearance in some way) and gives lots of tips on how I work with the brushes, helpful guidelines and how to make it not go quickly and easily.

Because it is actually the case that you have:
1. A good product that settles evenly and nicely on the skin
2. Soft and good brushes for this purpose
3. And know where you should apply the shadows
… It is not that difficult but you basically let the brushes do the work! And by that I mean that no technology is directly required, I just sweep the shadows. You understand what I mean if you watch the movie :)

Every time I do my bass I do contouring and for me it goes super fast, tough cool I'm done!

The palette contains six silky shadows perfectly matched for a flawless contouring. The shadows blend into the skin and give a quick and natural result and are very easy to use even for you who are a beginner.

You have to have such strong lights to get good light in the film, so you may think that the effects of the contouring are not as good in the film as in the picture / in reality. But here you see before and after pictures that I took when I filmed :) It makes such a big difference!

The brushes I have used are Nanshy Contouring Brush and Nanshy Blending Brush. So good!

Pixi Contour Creator costs SEK 369 and is available for purchase here!

Smokey eyes with color (Dark sweeping step by step)

I love a really carbon black smokey eye, but every time I do it I usually think that the make-up feels too black for me to be comfortable, if you e.g. going away for dinner or similar. (Answer yes, I have "party party eyes" like this even a regular birthday coffee or dinner party);)

But there is a lot you can build on the make-up with to get more life and shape in your sweeping! In this look I have added colorful shadows to liven up and a little shimmery eye shadow to get more shifts.

Hope you like the look!

Make-up before & after

Here are before and after pictures as well as a description and product list of a customer who I had a makeup consultation ink. products with here today :)

She wanted an "everyday make-up for 40+" and usually does not have that much make-up in ordinary cases. We did a neutral makeup with natural coverage, well-shaped eyebrows (which I also got to pick a little) and an eye makeup that lifts and opens up the gaze. Very nice!

Here is the result:

BASE:

Face primer - Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer
Foundation - Pixi H2O Skintint (2 Nude)
Contouring & highlighter - Pixi Book of beauty contour creator
Rouge - gloMinerals Blush (Papaya)
Fixing mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

Description:

  1. Massage the primer into the entire face, it evens out the skin and gives a nice glow. I always use my fingers for a face primer as it should be worked into the skin properly.
  2. Apply foundation, this is a water-resistant gel foundation that fits great. Works to apply both with fingers or with e.g. a foundation brush so it sinks so well into the skin and does not need to be worked in.
  3. Apply contouring: Dark shadow in the deep parts of the face (under the cheekbone, in the temple and up towards the hairline, as well as under the jawbone and a little on the sides of the chin, you can think of as a 3rd on the side of the face. I also put a little on the sides of the nose). Then light in the middle of the face (nasal bone, middle of the forehead, cupid's arch and chin) and on the cheekbones. I also brightened up the look with this bright highlisghter by placing it under the brow and under the eye. Finish with the glow highlighter in the palette and apply to all parts you have applied the light shade.
  4. Apply blush for more shape and life on the face. Here you can watch a video with tips and tricks!
  5. Spray fixing mist all over the face, it causes all powder products to melt into the skin and the skin looks more like skin even though it is very matte products.

EYES:

Eyeshadow Primer - Pixi eye bright primer
Eyeshadows - Paese Opal Eyeshadow (Colorado)
Light eyeliner along the waterline - gloMinerals Eye Pencil (Peach)
Eyeliner with wing– Kryolan HD Cream Liner (Ebony)
Mascara - Magnetic lash mascara

Description:

  1. Start with primer for a pigment-rich and lasting result.
  2. Put a little powder in the globe line to fix the primer (not on the whole eye) this makes it easier to get a soft eye makeup when you fade out the eye shadow.
  3. Light eyeshadow on the inside of the eye and in the corner of the eye. I apply all eye shadows on the eyelid with Nanshy Tapered Crease Brush.
  4. Medium light eye shadow on the rest of the eyelid
  5. Relax your forehead and look straight ahead in the mirror, placing the medium light shade just above the crease line crease.
  6. Brown eye shadow at the end of the eyelid and over the crease line (the medium light is below and makes the brown not as dark, good everyday trick!)
  7. Fade the edges with Nanshy blending brush.
  8. Apply the shadows on the underside of the eye as well, in the same order as on the eyelid. "Tie together" the eye shadows in the outer corner of the eye. For this I use the smaller brush Nanshy Pencil brush.
  9. Make lashliner with a cream eyeliner. Here you can watch a video on how to do this.
  10. Light up the waterline with a light eyeliner
  11. Finish with mascara, we just put on the lashes for a more lifting effect on the eye.

LIPS:

Lipstick - gloMinerals gloGloss (Naked)

EYEBROW:

Eyebrow pencil and brow gel - Pixi natural brow duo (Natural Brown)

I picked up the eyebrows and filled them in with a pencil that is shaped like a triangle and has a brow gel at the other end. I usually always start by filling in the underside of the brow and then I fill in by working in the direction of the straws. Finish with the gel.

Very nice glow in the skin! :)

Make-up that changes the shape of the eyes

I like to play with the shape of my eyes when I put on my make-up. The fact that you do not always make the "usual proportions" that open up emphasizes the eye's own shape, but e.g. do as I did today - make up the eye more open on only the underside, and then eyeliner on only half the eye so that it also becomes a more elongated shape.

It is a relatively natural make-up but you hardly recognize yourself haha, it's a bit fun :) Such small details do so much when you are not used to it. You will probably not think the difference is that big on me, but when you have it yourself, it is completely different.

Bassmink:
Face primer - Paese Makeup Base (Matte)
Concealer - gloMinerals Under Eye Concealer (beige)
Foundation - gloMinerals Pressed Base Foundation (Golden Medium)
Contouring & highlighter - Pixi Contour Creator
Rouge - Paese Powder Blush (35)
Fixing mist - Pixi makeup fixing mist
Net matting powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Brynpenna - gloMinerals Micro Brow Liner (Dark Brown)

Lip pencil - gloMinerals Suede Matte Crayon (Bombshell)

What do you think? :)

  1. Light eyeliner along the waterline and right where the lower lashes are attached, gloMinerals Eye pencil (Peach)
  2. White eye shadow on the lower lash line, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (601)
  3. Brown eyeshadow under the white in the corner of the eye, Paese opal eyeshadow (Caffe latte)
  4. The same brown shade thinly under the white shade and outwards at the outer edge, Paese opal eyeshadow (Caffe latte)
  5. Black eyeliner with wing from the middle of the lash line, Kryolan HD Cream Liner
White eye shadow under the eyeliner as well.
  6. Black mascara on half the lower lashes, Magnetic lash mascara
  7. Black mascara on the upper lashes

Clear!
