Purple & green makeup (Step by step tutorial)

I did this make-up with inspiration from Linda Hallberg's make-up ”Flowers”As I had seen a few days before and thought it was great with pink in the corner of the eye and green in the outer edges!

I did not do the same at all, but I very rarely take direct inspiration from others so now that I did, it can be fun for you to check out her makeup too, I thought :)

All products are available as usual to buy in my web shop and are linked further down in the post. Hope you like the make-up you too ♥

Best in test: Lip primers

A primer for the lips is a very nice product I think! It's a mix of "do I really need this?" and "what a well-made mouth I got today!".

What is a lip primer?
All different primers are called "primer" because it is a foundation before the next product. But a face primer, eye shadow primer and lip primer have completely different properties. What they all have in common, however, is that they extend the durability of the make-up in different ways thanks to the fact that you get a better surface to apply the products on.

A lip primer smoothes the texture of the lips and makes the lip product stay in place longer!

Why use lip primer?
I use lip primer mainly to even out both the lip but also a little outside, I paint the lips so extremely far outside my own lip shape that the skin in the contours is completely different and some lipsticks are therefore not as easy to apply evenly and nicely at the edges.

It is also a good product for you who have a lot of lines both on and off the lips and want to make the lips a little extra smooth or prevent the lip makeup from flowing out.

Then it also prolongs the shelf life, but personally I use such good lip products that last a long time anyway so I do not notice an extreme difference on that point actually.

Today I thought I would compare 3 different lip primers with a review and rank which one I like the most! I can start by saying that no one is bad, but it was not difficult to decide the winner;)

The three brands I test are Oriflame, NYX and 3ina (pronounced Mina) and I have all received them in press releases on various occasions.

I think I'm starting to review in the rankings with the lowest rating first:

3ina The Lip Primer
This lip primer is quite different from the other two and I think it works well overall but it has some details that I do not think are completely optimal:

1. It is liquid in tube form, which I do not think is a simple application. I take a click and poke out with my fingertip but you do not get real precision in the edges.

2. It is a bit colored in a cool purple-pink tone, which I in itself can think is a bit nice on myself, but that makes me prefer not to put it further than I should put on lip makeup - which I otherwise often do if the lipstick has a risk of flowing out.

3. It has a tendency to "crumble" if you are not very careful about laying thin.

But it has a lot of good stuff too, it gets really smooth and if you want a matte result, it is really great because it gets matte without getting dry. Then it also contains hyaluronic acid :)

Here you see this on the lips! Do you see that the lip gets a purple-pink glow?

NYX Professional Lip Primer
Answer yes as you can see in the picture I was tired one morning and tried to sharpen the plastic but it is really just screwed up at the bottom of the pen haha. So it can go sometimes :)

Anyway - I like the pen format much more than a tube! It becomes soft on the lips and I especially like this under dry lip pencils to get better glide and a more comfortable feeling. And I absolutely believe that it extends the durability well if you have lipsticks that disappear quickly because it feels like they "stick together" well with the primer if you understand what I mean?

But it is not the best in tests because I think the formula is a bit too waxy and does not smooth out the texture in the same way as the other two. But still a good and affordable primer absolutely!

You can see in the picture that it is more creamy and also gives a lightening to the lips as it is slightly beige.

Oriflame The ONE Lip Primer
The winner of the test is the lip primer pen from Oriflame!

This lip primer smoothes the texture and lines of the lips very nicely and is soft and creamy on the lips while giving a matte look. So it fits just as well to give dry lipsticks and lipsticks with "glide" and a softer feeling without becoming too creamy.

It is also the most caring primer and contains shea butter, which is very nice under lip make-up. It certainly contains more silicones than shea butter, but still;)

It is SEK 30 more expensive than the above products, but SEK 109 for a good product is still affordable and the difference is so great that I would definitely spend SEK 30 more on it!

This is what it looks like on the lips. The pin looks white but it does not turn white at all on the lips, although you have a faint enlightenment but I think it's just fine.

Here you see the difference in how well it smoothes the lip:

There is a bit of a focus on the upper lip on the model, but you see the difference on all lines on the lower lip, really big difference!

As for Oriflame's lip primer, I have nothing to complain about actually, it is really, really good :)

I could have it all alone on my lips if you are going to be without lip makeup one day but just want a nice improvement! :)

Hope you found this post helpful!

Hug, hug ♥

Makeup tutorial - Gold & Yellow (Party makeup / New Year makeup)

There are golden tones that go to orange and then there are golden tones that go more to yellow. Today I thought I would show a yellow-gold make-up where I have both used pure yellow but also gold glitter that has just a yellow-gold tone.

Before I put on the glitter, I thought that the make-up was reminiscent of a half-aged banana that had started to turn brown haha! But then I was happy with the result :)

Colored face primer - glo Tinted Primer spf 30 (Medium)
Concealer - Pixi Pat Away Concealing Base (1 Cream)
Powder that neutralizes redness - glo Redness relief powder
Contouring - Contouring Palette (2)
Rouge - Blush (35)
Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist
Powder - Paese Bamboo Silk Powder

Eyebrows - glo Micro Brow Liner (Ash)

Lipstick - Paese Silky Matt Lipstick (701)

The glitter was really the icing on the cake :)

  1. Eyeshadow primer, Pixi eye bright primer
Yellow eye shadow on the entire eyelid, Paese Neo Eyeshadow (662)
  2. Brown eyeshadow as a line along the globe line, Paese Opal Eyeshadow Trio (Golden Brown)
  3. Fade with a golden brown eye shadow (from the same trio palette)
  4. Black eyeliner with wing along the lash line + in the globe line, Kryolan Cake Liner (Black)
Black eyeshadow in the globe line, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (602)
  5. Gold glitter on the inside and outside of the eyelid, Mood Wood Natural Glitter (Gold) attached with Kryolan Cake Liner Sealer
  6. White eye shadow in the corner of the eye and under the eyeliner, Paese cashmere eyeshadow (601)
Yellow eye shadow thin in the fade over the globe line
  7. Brown eye shadow along the lower lash out obliquely downwards in the outer corner of the eye
Yellow eye shadow in the corner of the eye and in the fade in the middle of the lower lash line
  8. Black mascara on all lashes, Magnetic lash mascara

Clear!

I liked the yellow along with the sweet lip color that breaks off! But it would also be super nice with glossy red lips, or dark pink! :)

Hope you like the make-up you too ♥

Hug!

My business week v. 32

Now it's Sunday again! Do you know that I will soon be writing these Sunday posts about my work week for a whole year?

Fun to write about other things is make-up and products sometimes, I made more such private posts before in the good old days;)

New brow knives!
One of my projects this week was to take pictures of our new brow knives and post them in the webshop!

May sound simple but there are many steps:

  1. Photograph
  2. Edit the background of the images that will become product images and make a "front image" in the correct format
  3. Edit other images that should be included in blog posts etc.
  4. Adding a product to the webshop is time consuming, many steps before you get all variants of shades, the right settings with price, stock balance, category, tips on products you can supplement with etc.
  5. Make a blog post about the brow knives with text and pictures
  6. Make a "beauty guide" about the brow knives in the webshop
  7. When the beauty guide is published, I can change the product again and post that post with image and link.

Then it's ready!

This is what it looks like when you remove the background in photoshop. It can go very fast with some products, if they "stand out" clearly from the background, the program feels pretty good itself but that was not the case with these pictures so it became quite fussy and time consuming.

If you want to see the results, you will find them in my web shop here! :)

Last step: Post the link on the product page where you can read more about the brow knives, fun!

Meeting with the new premises
Now we have had a meeting about the new premises we will move the salon to! It is still not signed yet though because the exact rental cost is determined depending on what changes we need to make, but we have said we want it and we are now going ahead with the details :)

One of the things is that we have to draw water to the treatment rooms because the environmental inspectorate has clear rules about sinks when doing permanent makeup. And if our barber is to be able to have shampooing, we also need water for it, of course.

Then we want to build 2 or 3 walls also to cut off some large rooms into several small ones.

To know what everything costs, we need to decide exactly how we want it - and then we must first decide exactly who should have which room and how we should furnish everything. Incredibly difficult when you do not see everything in front of you, we have only been in there once :)

This is how I have sat and brainstormed how to structure everything as practically as possible. It may not even be like this but you have to start somewhere!

For example. was the first thought of having the waiting room just outside the toilet because it felt like a natural corner for it. But there is a small kitchen so we realized that it is smarter to build a wall and make staff rooms there instead so you can easily wash your dishes. And if we think right, there will be room for a shop, reception, waiting room, make-up places and barbarians' corner in the large open area anyway.

Lots to include in the calculations :)

This is how I sit and draw water pipes :)

To be continued!

How often can you be sick?
You should listen to your body and rest when you are sick. But I can hardly be home from work every month! I have now gone on fever and sore throat for the 3rd time in 7 (!) Weeks. And I have had a fever every month since March, so 6 months in a row. Incredibly frustrating.

I'm not used to the medical center taking one seriously, but now they have actually taken this very seriously and I will go to the doctor's again next week, even though I said I do. only if they really think I should, because I prefer not to haha. But it's mainly because I have a fever so often + start to get a little fuss about the lungs / breathing. Anyone know if sore throat can spread to the lungs? I dare not google haha.

Anyway, I have therefore been home two days this week and just put on make-up and then worked in bed + taken power naps and so on. So I've been good at it! :) You get to see rest as an achievement and you get to feel good anyway haha.

This thing about not being home when you are sick is something I have had in me all my life, so it's not just about running a business. I went to school even though I was sick both in high school and in high school. I do not know where it comes from, is it some kind of work ethic? How many children go to school with a fever as well ... Maybe comes from a previous life :)

Sitting and putting on make-up and drinking juice feels like rest, right? :) It's a job but no effort for the body and for me it's more relaxing than watching a movie. After this make-up I took a bath and washed everything off immediately haha.

Thread the legs
Threading is not rocket science but it is required that you have a feeling for it, a steady hand and that you practice, practice, practice until you have mastered the technique. First you have to get the technique on your hands, then on different areas of the face (it can be a bit tricky in the temples and upper lip for example) and then you have to practice on different people because everyone has different types of hair and skin type. And practicing speed is also important, it is a treatment that can hurt the customers so you can not keep up and persevere.

Mia started practicing this this week and I was her practice person on both when she practiced the technique and then she threaded my legs while I sat and worked :) Then she went on and threaded my whole face at home in the evening too!

I sat in the teeth whitening chair and worked while Mia sat on her knees on the floor and threaded almost my entire left leg. It felt like I was sitting on a throne and she was my servant haha!

Gone out with the happy news to all customers!
I told you this week that Annika will be a mother! :)

This week we published it on the company's social media and have received so many nice comments, our customers are the best, so much care! ♥

The cool thing about this is also how extremely close I, Miska and Annika are. Are not all business partners really that lucky? :) Since Annika is single, we usually joke that Miska is the baby's father and I am the baby's folder haha. And last Thursday we were with her for an ultrasound! So nice, cool and totally sick at the same time to see the baby move in there! Wow! Now we know an estimated date too, January 10! :)

Now we have opened Annika's schedule until November 30, then we will see if she can work in December as well, but we have to wait and see how her body feels. Tattooing is very stressful for the back, for example.

Otherwise, it has been a normal work week with everything that goes with it!

Now during the weekend I have just rested so I am completely on my feet again next week :)

Hugs are! ♥
