It's a sweaty week I leave behind - it's hard to get things done in this heat when you do not have AC indoors so every thing you accomplish you have to pat yourself on the back for :)

We smääälter
I love heat and want to live in a country that is hot all the time - the difference is that in such countries you have AC everywhere indoors, you need a break!
So this week has been very tough on that point. When you are free, this is the best summer, but for us who work every day, it becomes very stressful. Especially for Miska who is basically a warmer person than I am, he thinks it gets mentally difficult also because he can not sleep well at night and can not think clearly during the day.
We have no AC at home, we have no AC in the car and no AC in the salon (except for millions of fans and two loose ac machines that blow out via a plastic hose, but that hardly helps). So we almost never get a break!
A little fitting, the ventilation in the whole salon stopped working this week as well .. It must have had a heat stroke with it? How big are the odds that it will stop working right there in this hot period otherwise? We have had the premises for 2.5 years now and tried EVERYTHING to get a comfortable temperature (both tried to fix themselves + put pressure on the landlord) but now we have realized that it is impossible. Just to persevere until the move!

There is ONE room with AC and that is Annika's treatment room (farthest, farthest into the salon, so stupid!). When she went home for the day, I slipped in there the last two hours before we went home, it was absolutely magical! :)
Why do we just not fix a proper AC then? As I said in previous post (the reasons why we should change premises) so we have a demolition contract and rent in "existing condition", which means that we bear all costs ourselves. The house in which the salon is located is K-marked so you must not put an AC on the facade at the front but would have to pull it from the back = a cost of over 100,000: - (yes we have taken a quote on it!). We would therefore have to pay for this ourselves and because we only rent and can be kicked out at any time, we can not put that amount on something we can not take with us from there.
Where we do treatments, it goes pretty well, it's still super hot there too, of course, but you can do it only if you get a little windy. In the shop and reception though (where we have large windows) so it's like a greenhouse! The goes not to stand there a whole day.

So we have put up a sign right in the entrance that customers have to wait a little while because the reception is unmanned most of the time. You see the door all the time but may not have the opportunity to run there in a second. Fortunately, most customers have full understanding now during the extreme heat and understand that we do our best :)
Now we have canceled this room anyway !! Waah! Not a single more summer in this room! I think about it like once every half hour at work haha!
Free to benefit the job
On Thursday I escaped very lightly;) We have hired my sister Mia and on Thursday she was on microneedling training all day and she would not have been able to go on it if she had not had a babysitter, so then I stayed at home so that she could go to the training!
Really nice for me who sometimes gets a bad conscience towards the company when I am free, now it became like I did good for that I was free :)

However, I was not completely free because I did a step-by-step make-up and fixed that post on the morning twig. When I took this picture, I had intended to wash off the make-up, but then I ignored the coat layer and hung on the beach with a full face glitter makeup anyway haha. The children wanted to leave as soon as possible and the make-up itself did not bother me so then it had to stay :)
Then you are always on standby when you run a business, I called and canceled the salon room at our landlord (Wohoo!) And fixed someone who can fix our ventilation system. Answered some emails and sent expressions of interest on another room as well (even though we lean most towards the one we have already looked at, you want to check the situation properly and not just take the first best).
This kind of activity you have time for from time to time while the children are looking for a gadget that has suddenly disappeared without a trace or fussing about which cakes we should take with us to the beach;)

The best part was when it was after 6 pm and I knew the salon was closed. When we are fully booked and Miska and I are not there, I have a very hard time relaxing completely, I always have my mobile close and am ready to act if they call and say that it is a disaster or something haha.
New target image on g!
Every summer we set a new goal picture for the year with a deadline of 30 June and now it's time for the goal picture 2019!
It is a process to arrive at the perfect goal picture so we are not quite done yet, but have come a long way! Nailing a target image for the company is not as easy as it sounds, you can not just sit down and "think it out" immediately, but you have to start step by step.
1. First we make a "current situation picture", what does the company look like today? What problems do we have? What opportunities do we have? We look at last year's current situation and remove points that have been fixed, change and add new ones.
2. Then we rank all of these and put the most important points from each category at the bottom. Then you see what is the most prio to grab. This is what the template looks like:

The next step will be to list points to the target image which we then connect with the current situation image and determine our first strategic focus - so what is most important to start with to reach the target image? But we are not quite done there yet.
So the biggest job is to discuss, discuss and discuss. What do we want? And above all - why do we want it?
It's so important to think about the purpose of everything and I have a good example of that: Last year when we did this we brainstormed a lot and were super excited to make Creative Makeup a chain because we very often get questions like "are you in Gothenburg too? ” "Are you in Stockholm too?". How cool would it not be if Creative Makeup was available in several places? So I can train all makeup artists within our products and values while Annika has an apprenticeship program for all permanent makeup artists. Sure sounds good? :)
Until we got to the why part. How wants we work? I want to work more with product development and our web shop. Annika wants to start a family and would rather invest in a few apprentices who get really sharp than teach a lot of people. Miska likes company building and is more eager to start a completely new company than to start more of the same. In addition, we have our business idea for a new make-up brand as well. Then we realized that the solution is absolutely not to make the salon concept bigger but to make the salon we already have really stable - and then the goal "self-propelled salon" was born instead.
What if we had never thought "why?" on everything we decide, then we would have struggled to reach a goal that neither of us really wanted to reach. And that's stupid :)

Here we sit at Annika's house and brainstorm!
Mysjobba!
At the time of writing, it's Saturday afternoon and I'm having such a crazy cozy time! I work a little and sit with a hair wrap, face mask and bathrobe. It's the only cloudy day this week, the window is open and the wind is just right so it's cooling but not a bit cold. I can sit here and cuddle exactly the whole day it feels like :)
Now Miska comes with a cup of coffee for me too, I love my life ♥

Next week I work on Saturday so then it will be a 6-day week at the salon :) So now I will just take it easy and gather energy.
Hugs are ♥
