Party make-up with glitter

Hello!

This weekend we went on a cruise and I danced so much that my knees ached the day after haha, danced until half past three in the morning for several hours straight, so much fun! And today I thought I would show you the make-up I had then :)

Do you know what else I have done? Started making me up in the study at home! You know the room I posted that we have renovated a bit?

Before, I always put on make-up at the salon, which meant that I often did not have time to do it at all because once I am at work, there is so much else to do. But now I can put on make-up before or after work instead! Have still not received it as a routine but it feels great anyway :)

But I still have one of the flashes at work to take photos of customers, so I have had to change my photo routines a lot. So partly I have a chalk white background now and it's not really the same light. It always takes some time for me to find the perfect placement for the stuff, settings, etc.

In other words - I do not think that today's makeup pictures were as good as usual, but I do not know if it's because I'm used to my old candle or if I just have not gotten to it yet. So feel free to comment on what you think of the pictures! ♥

I did not have time to do a step by step, I barely had time to take pictures because we were going away hehe. But here is at least my make - up that I had last Friday on the first day of the cruise! :)

Makeup 40+, 50+ before & after (Products)

Last weekend I had a make-up course at Creative Makeup with a woman who wanted to learn a natural everyday make-up, with a focus on removing make-up from under the eyes. It turned out really well! :)

Here is the result:

BASE
We started with a face primer that not only evens out the skin but also gives radiance and is great for dry skin. Then we added a semi-opaque foundation gel that evens out the skin tone and becomes natural and durable on the skin.

Then we put an enlightening concealer under the eyes and fixed with powder.

The contouring was done with both a dark shade, a light shade and a luster highlighter. Finished with a lively blush shade on the cheeks and fixing mist.

Face primer - Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer
Foundation - Pixi H2O Skintint (3 Warm)
Powder - gloMinerals LUXE Setting Powder
Concealer - gloMinerals Under Eye Concealer (Golden)
Contouring - Pixi Book of Beauty Contour Creator
Rouge - gloMinerals Blush (Papaya)
Fixing Mist - Pixi Makeup fixing mist

EYEBROW
I have filled in the eyebrows with a brow pencil in a fairly light tone. She already had a nice and full shape but marked them a little extra and finished with brim.

Eyebrow Pen + Gel - Pixi Natural Brow Duo (Natural Brown)

EYES
On the eyes we did a make-up that brightens up the look and opens the eyes. We finished with a lashliner / lash marking that marks the lash line and raises the eyes but is so thin that it does not take up any space of the eyelid, as well as mascara.

Eyeshadow Primer - Pixi Eye Bright Primer
Eyeshadows - Paese Opal Eyeshadow Trio (Colorado)
Light eyeliner -  gloMinerals Eye Pencil (Peach) (Along the waterline)
Black lashliner / fringe marking - Kryolan Cake Eye Liner
Black mascara - Magnetic Lash Mascara

LIPS
A natural lipstick that is matte and marks her lip contours and highlights the lips without sticking out or taking focus.

Lip pencil - Benecos Natural Lip Liner (Brown)
Colored lip balm - Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm (Honey Nectar)

Nice, nice! :)

Home spa before the evening's feats!

Since we opened the salon almost 1.5 years ago, I have basically not been free at all to do anything fun. And there has been no need for me for that, but now I, Miska, my sister Mia and 3 other friends have actually booked a cruise this weekend! :) So fun!

And since we leave Uppsala around 3 pm, my first plan was to work at the salon until then. But even though we are completely fully booked and had to bring in extra staff, I am actually glad that I decided to drive a whole morning and morning free at home instead.

For the corner, you who also love beauty, surely it IS too wonderful to have a day off before with a really long time to get ready in peace and quiet? I'm not just talking about makeup now, but the whole get-together ritual of shaving my legs, listening to music in the bath, lubricating my whole body in a fragrant lotion, drinking a cup of coffee while blow-drying your hair, makeup to a poppy old tune. And then at last you stand there, rested, harmonious and thundering party-fixed and ready for a super fun evening! :)

And that's exactly what I'll be devoting myself to for the next few hours! Just cuddling around myself before I put my heels on the roof tonight.

Right now I'm waiting for Miska to fire ready (yes we have to fire to get hot water) so we can eat a cozy breakfast together then I will light scented candles and start my own mini-spa day!

And tonight I'm going to dance, dance, dance! :)

I will definitely update some on Insta Stories, follow me there! @ Imakeyousmile.se.

Hope you all have a great Friday too, hugs to you ♥

Make-up - List of my make-up throughout the year

Here I have found this year's make-up and put them together in a large list of make-up.

I have a period now when I feel that I do not work hard enough, but it is not really about how much / little I achieve every day without it being so much more I want to catch up and so many new ideas I want to get to grips with. So it's simply that I have raised the bar for how much I should do in one day and it unfortunately does not come with more hours;)

But when I look back at the start of 2017 already in February, I see that even though I do not blog as much as before (there will be a change in that), I have actually not been lazy!

Therefore, I now thought of offering an inspirational collage with this year's first make-up in 2017! :)

Smoky eyes step by step

Reader question:
Hi Helena! I have checked through all your party make-up in the blog (so so so so good inspiration that you can browse through make-up in the tab under your header!) And have fallen flat for all the different smokey eyes that you have done. I would like a step by step with the fastest and easiest way to make smokey eyes, and gladly reached tips on how to "save" it if you do not get to the fade well. And preferably cat eyes. Thanks in advance, love your blog!

Smokey eyes is one of my favorite makeups to do, think it's so much fun! :)

My 5 best tips:

1. Do not forget the eyeshadow primer! The eye shadow becomes much more intense and it is easier to get it to attach to the eyelid without it falling down under the eyes á la panda eyes. And not to mention the durability, if you have a dark eye shadow, it will be even clearer if it settles in the creases on the eyelid after a few hours.

2. Wrap powder in the crease line before you start applying the eye shadows (not on the entire eyelid) to fix the primer there. Because it attaches so much pigment to the primer, it makes it much easier when you want to fade out the eye shadows later.

Use a brown eye shadow at the edges. Black is always harder to blend out nicely in the skin color (regardless of skin tone) if you compare with a brown shade. Brown is much easier to get soft.

4. Feel free to use a compact but slightly rounded brush when applying the eye shadow, I use Nanshy Tapered Crease to it. Why it is good that it is a little rounded is because when you apply eye shadow with a flat brush, it can often be quite sharp edges immediately, which you then have to spend more time fading out. But if you have a rounded brush, the edges immediately become quite soft and it is much faster to fade later.

5. Dab on shimmer or small glitter on the eyelid if it looks uneven. Shimmer confuses the eye and the irregularities e.g. your fade will not be as visible.

What do you think? :)

meikkipictorial_111

  1. Eyeshadow primer on the entire eyelid and powder in the crease line. The primer is Kryolan Eye Shadow Primer, is testing this but would not recommend it to a smokey eye, it did not last all evening.
  2. Brown eyeshadow along the globe line, Paese Opal Eyeshadow Trio (Caffe Latte). Apply with Nanshy Tapered Crease.
  3. Fade the eyeshadow with Nanshy Blending Eyeshadow Brush.
  4. Dab on black eye shadow with Nanshy Tapered Crease. Paese Kashmir (602)
  5. Gold eye shadow in the corner of the eye and dabbed on the entire eyelid, Pixi Fairy Dust (Gold Dust)
  6. Brown eye shadow also along the lower lash line.
  7. Black eyeliner, Paese Liquid Eyeliner
  8. Black mascara on all lashes, Magnetic Lash Mascara

I made the eyes in 20 minutes last Saturday before work, and would have done it in 10-15 minutes if I did not take photos + if I had been more planned and not rooted in the boxes after every other product;)

And it's so fast because, thanks to the tips at the beginning of the post, I do not have to work much with the brushes at all to get a soft fade. Because that is usually what takes time (and provokes swear words) when you have to do a dark sweeping haha.

Shout out if you have any questions ♥
